Hello house , there's a crack on the wall which is causing me corncerns.

Is this crack suggesting structural issues?

I don't know if other members already suggested a solution .let me add one or two things,

How many floors is the said structure ?
Is the crack progressive?
Years of Usage?
Residential or any other usage?
Is there a column at that particular edge and can u make a video..

If its your column there's an issue and not something you should listen to the comment of a get a PhD bricklayer, who don't understand load analysis and distribution of a structural system..

Standard Solution

Share your structural drawing
The building will be re analyze to see where the problem is coming from

Structural assessment and integrity test
On all or selected members
Etc..

Kobo kobo solution( Assumed solution)
A UC or UB will be use to support the column and the previous one will be repaired. Assumed selected section..

Note all this if its ur structural element that's is mis behaving

All said above are based on the picture I see solution may changes ..

Be guided professional builder's dear not alter a structural element without approval from the designer not to talk of expert mason

I actually mean the internal partition. Thanks

I am assuming its a bungalow structure and probably your foundation is minimum of 4 course.
You will need to break the section of the oversite concrete to introduce a beam at the 3rd course counting from bottom and round it up with block work.If you introduced columns internally along the area you can tie the your beam to it before pouring concrete.
Good luck .

Baba, the koko is “A loud mind is greater than a loud mouth.”

What I see almost everywhere in Nigeria is ‘problem talk.’

It is a conversation that focuses heavily on the details of an issue without ever actually producing a solution.

If the regular conversations we have here is a road then problem-talk is a roundabout we drive on forever.

Problem Talks sounds like this:

Nigerians are bad.
Contractors are terrible.
Architects are saucy.
Suppliers are unfaithful.
Govt is useless.
In 2002 (before corona grin),things were better...

Talking about problems ain’t bad but getting stuck in the cycle of problem talk is.

A week before I read your post, I started working on an idea for mobile app and website - I'm still on it but weighing my options...

God Bless

That's the column post - I'm thinking that column wasn't properly seated and has settled after being loaded.....

Hello House.

I have just finished doing the oversite on my foundation (German floor). 5" thick .

However I noticed , I will need some adjustment during block forming.

My question is, can a wall run outside of the foundation ground partition ? This is because I intend to steal a foot space .

Thanks

The answer is YES ,.. load are distributed across the floor as long as it was well done

I have read some reviews about @money121 here and I was at times doubtful if they were real! Well, I decided to give him a try on my roofing project and here is my story;

I contacted @money121 (CEO Imran roofing) on WhatsApp to let him know about my project and he asked for the roofing plan which I sent and he gave me a rough estimate pending when the wood work is completed and the actual measurement can be done. Two weeks after the wood work was done and he then asked me to send him actual measurement so he can get load the right quantity of materials to my site in Ekpoma Edo state. I sent a local guy around Ekpoma who is also a roofer to take the measurement and he sent me the sqm.

Sending the measurements to @money121 he told me those measurements where just too much judging from the plan I sent him earlier. This arouse my interest in @money121! Because he could have charged me with those measurements and no one will know about it. He offered to send his boy down to Ekpoma to take the measurement and behold his measurement was way less than what the other roofer sent!.

We agreed on the payment terms that I pay a deposit of 2.3M before he will load the materials to Ekpoma but I forgot I have 1M daily limit in my bank. After I transferred the 1M to him, I told him of the situation, to my surprise @money121 loaded the materials that morning and sent them to Ekpoma with his boys without waiting for me to complete the initial deposit of 2.3M.

Today the roofing is completed and I would want to let everyone know that @money121 (Imran roofing) is one of the most honest Nigerian businessman I have seen and his professionalism is second to none....keep up the good work @money121 you have just won me over!

Good respected Experts,

Please how many bags of cement will be enough to tile bungalow of 5 bedrooms with 2 living rooms, and 5 toilets/bath. Total square meters is roughly 600 square meters.

Thank you.

Start your budget with 60 bags

I am also interested in expert opinion on this.

I am thinking of the following order after roofing:
Doors, burglary and windows
Plumbing and electrical
Plastering
POP
Electrical/plumbing fittings
kitchen cabinet and appliances
tile
Painting
Landscaping
I don't know about others, but I know about doors and burglaries plus other allied iron works. Rails too

My brother, I drive through that same road twice every week since the last 2 years to see my projects aroundthere. The road is even a lot better now that the rains have stopped, we have even slept on that road once. Nigeria!
hehehehehehehe

On Sunday, I was delivering Oga Valencia 2012 rails, motor spoil, I slept on the road. Came back Monday morning and put some finishing touches on another job going to Onitsha, motor spoil again. Left Nnewi around 1pm and got back to Nnewi round 8pm. Agbero collect everything I had on me, armed robbers nearly caught up with us.

But we move and never give up. We must make am inside this country without doing crime

36 of it covers a 12x12 room.
And that will cost N56k for materials and labour.

It could be helpful if you give the breakdown like how much per pieces/Sqm² & the cost of labour.
Thanks

It's a 60 by 40ft land, the total number of flats may not be more than 4

To confess, if I can have a way around it I don't think I'm psychologically and financial ready to start spending heavily on some documents when the seller sold it at high price because he claims to have spent heavily to get the c of o, now it's like the c of o he has (and raised price because of) is useless

Thanks for your contribution.

However , I actually mean running an internal wall. but it will no longer be along its original path. But a foot away though , still on the same monolithic oversite.

Two things:
1 - If the building is a Bungalow, carry-on, the weight it would carry will be borne by the DPC and that should surfice.

2) If it is a storey building, you have to consider whether that wall and its associated Columns (where it was initially), are load-bearing.
If it is, the New wall will still be required to carry such weight, it cannot just be floating on the DPC floor. This might lead to cracks in future, when the filling under the PDC and whole building begins to settle deferentially.
Its like building something on Nothing. Weight must be transmitted right to the Ground, in a foundation.

Option: You will need to do some digging-up of the Foundation (nasty job, l hate breaking up DPC), do a Basket along the Column points, re-enforce the Trench with 16mm iron and concrete it back up.
Expensive One foot though but l guess it is important.

Hope you will be able to do it, just pay attention to the details and dont economise on materials, to achieve what you want.
It should be okay

If you can get the job done at this price it is quite cheap

In my little understanding, doors should come before tiles, this will enable the tiler take proper door level to avoid the door scratching on the tiles

Just as you asked, a 12x12 room is 14m². 56÷14=N4k per square metre. Materials take N3500 while labour is N500. Hope that is clear.

THAT C/O makes it worse for you to approve.... ie the fact it's not in your name adds about 300k or more to the approval fees....

The 2m - 3m tag on the approval should be true........ Our Government are making it practically impossible to approve buildings (with multiple taxation) ALSO check the the C/O was issued for residential permit not commercial.
