Kim Hyun joong's is an ost, a ballad, I love it

Title : A CULPRIT AMONG FRIENDS

Fun fact : this is the 3rd shim yi young drama special I watched(she was the pregnant North Korean woman from duet) and the 2nd min Ji a drama special I watched

A lady (syy) walks down a dark hallway, she stops in front of a half open door, hesitates then opens, another lady(sdm) is inside she screams and falls into syy's arms. Syy asks what's wrong? But sdm is too shaken to talk, a 3rd lady mja comes in they all look shocked. On the floor is a lady (kjm), she's dead.

Outside there are police cars, a crowd has gathered. Inside, detectives are examining the scene, a detective reads a note "the past is never dead, it's not even past". He says it's too abstract and elegant to be a suicide note. Another says no sign of forced entry so maybe murder or a suicide, if she was murdered, she knew the killer. The first detective says the note is a well known quote from William Faulkner. The 2nd detective asks about the cctv, 1st detective said the house is an unsold one so there's a cctv but it wasn't working. In the hands of the dead lady there's a picture of 4 high school girls. 2nd detective says his theory is that 99% of homicides are related to money or sex, the 1st says just follow the money or the semen and you'll find the killer, I've heard it a million times. The 2nd detective says what if this is the 1% case, not the 99%, homicide staged as suicide or suicide staged as homicide. The victim wasn't holding this picture tight so why did the killer leave it behind? A 3rd detective says her time of death is almost the same as the time she was found, maybe the killer was too busy getting away, killer barely washed away fingerprints from cup of poison, 2nd detective looks at the picture and says 1 of them was the first witness, 2nd and 3rd witness came 1 minute apart, is 1 of them the killer?

Sdm is being questioned, she says she asked me to come over to talk about something, I arrived on time and found her like that. Detective asks "do you have an idea what she wanted to say?" sdm replies "no", detective asks "and you weren't in contact with her before she came to Korea" sdm says she contacted me after 15 years.

Flashback to sdm in a hospital room, sleeping by her child who was in an accident and is in a coma, there are posters looking for a witness to the accident scattered all over the room, her phone rings and she wakes up, she rushes to the phone, it's someone calling to ask if she'll really give a reward to anyone with information about the accident, she starts begging saying she'll give all she has, the person on the other end of the line starts to laugh, sdm says how can you joke about something like this you monster, the person cuts. Her phone rings again, she picks it and says if you call again ill call the police... A voice says is this Kang seonju's phone, sdm says yes, who is this? The voice on the phone says it's me chaeryung (I guess kjm is chaeryung) seonju is shocked.

Syy is on her bed, with a bowl of different vitamins and supplements by her side, her phone rings, it's seonju calling, syy picks and says it's been long, seonju tells her chaeryung called, syy takes one of the pills.

Mja and her husband are in a car, he's driving, he asks her "you, seonju and yonghwa are meeting?" (I'm guessing syy is yonghwa) mja says yes, husband says its been a long time, why are you people suddenly meeting, she says are you sad cos we didn't invite you? He says tell them I said hi. She looks nervous.

At a restaurant, all 3 of them are seated, 2 kids are running about and seonju is watching them (me: she's probably thinking about her kid in a coma) yonghwa says how long has it been? Seonju fake smiles and says about 15 years, yonghwa says no I'm talking about us, we can't see each other only 1ce a year, mja says you're the one that's always busy. Yonghwa looks around and says I don't like the atmosphere here, why meet here? Mja asks seonju, she just called out of the blue? Why? She was in Korea this whole time? Seonju says I know nothing, just like you. Mja says we didn't even know if she was alive for the past 15 years, I actually thought she might have been dead. Seonju says that was the rumor, mja continues why did she contact us after all these years? Yonghwa smiles and says maybe she's here to get revenge, the rest look shocked.

Flashback to 4 of them as high schoolers running and footsteps following them (me:aigoo flashback in flashback, what in the yoruba movie is going on here) as they are running, one of them is trying to hold on to another but she shakes her off and that one falls down and sprains her ankle so she can't run, they are being pursued by a group of boys. After the other 3 have run a distance, they stop to rest and one asks "where's chaeryung" (oh chaeryung is the one that fell), they all look back and see she's not behind them.

Back to the present, lol the present flashback at the restaurant, they all look worried, seonju asks yonghwa "how could you say that?" yonghwa smiles and says "if not, better". Chaeryung comes in smiling, they all look scared/nervous, they all stand up, chaeryung says it's been long girls, seonju says how long has it been, mja hugs her, yonghwa says you're alive? Chaeryung says you're looking at me. They are having wine, the kids are still running around, seonju asks what they should toast to and yonghwa says to chaeryung who returned after 15 years, as they are about to drink one of the kids running hits yonghwa and her glass of wine falls to the ground and shatters.

Back to the present, yonghwa being questioned by the police, she says if you have a case, it's against Korean mothers that can't train their children, the educational system isn't helping too, the detectives say is that all, she says is there something else, detective says the waiter at the restaurant says things seemed serious, he said things looked tense. She says so chaeryung killed herself because things were tense? Detective says she killed herself? Why? We don't know the cause of death, you seem to know more. Why would she commit suicide? Yonghwa says how would I know? She brings out a bottle of pills and takes 1 and says i don't know why I'm being questioned. She leaves.

Flashback to the restaurant, all 4 of them are in the restroom cleaning their clothes, yonghwa says we should teach the mothers and kids a lesson, they all laugh, chaeryung says we're really ridiculous, they laugh, she continues, I remember that day, the last time we were all together, they're all shocked, she says it was yonghwa's birthday right? Lol they're all shocked and chaeryung is the only one smiling.

Flashback to them as high schoolers in a restroom, they all change out of their school uniform, yonghwa applies lipstick and tries to put on chaeryung, she refuses but yonghwa says I'm the birthday girl, you nerds have to do what I say, they all laugh and chaeryung agrees to the lipstick, yonghwa tells her she looks prettier with her hair down and removes her ribbon, they're all excited and leave the restroom, chaeryung remains there admiring herself in the mirror, they ask her to hurry, we see the grownup chaeryung saying don't go, but of course it's only an imagination and high school chaeryung doesn't hear.

The 4 girls are at a karaoke having fun. Later they go sit at a park and yonghwa brings them beers, the rest are sceptical but yonghwa convinces them, as they are about to drink some guys walk up to them and ask if they'd like to hangout, there are 4 guys, the rest are sceptical but yonghwa agrees.

Back to the restaurant, chaeryung finishes cleaning up and says she'll head out, as she leaves, yonghwa says she just blamed me right? You guys too? I didn't know those guys were trash. Seonju says forget it, let's just go. Yonghwa cries a little.

Back at the table, chaeryung says I saw Korean movies in America, one movie was about a terminally ill patient looking for old friends. The movie reminded me of you guys. Mja says I hope you are not.. Chaeryung smiles and says whether I'm ill or not that's life, who knows what'll happen tomorrow, you could have a heart attack or a car accident, seonju remembers her daughter's accident and looks at her shocked. Chaeryung continues anyway I thought I might not be in this world tomorrow, me and you guys as well. They all fake smile, she says so how have you all been? Mja says just like everyone else except for yonghwa, she turned out well, her husband is a hospital director, classmates were jealous of her marrying into a rich family after being such trouble in school. Yonghwa says I'm still a daughter in law, my husband won't become head director anytime soon, his wicked mom could live for another 500 years. Chaeryung laughs and says no babies yet? Yonghwa says I don't like kids. Chaeryung says some people deliberately choose not to have kids. Seonju your daughter is really adorable, she looks just like you at that age. Seonju is shocked (ghen ghen), she asks "you met her?" chaeryung nods and says, I wanted to contact you guys, but it's been a while and I felt awkward so I didn't know if I should call you or go in person so I ended up going to your place, I saw her then, didn't she say anything? Seonju says no she didn't. Chaeryung smiles and says I could see she was your daughter, she was so pretty, I got emotional, I wish I had a daughter like her, I felt envious. Seonju says when was that? Lol the rest look at her weird cos she raised her voice, when did you see eunji? Chaeryung says I don't remember exactly, why? Seonju says try to remember. Chaeryung says why should I, is it a problem that I met your daughter? Seonju says why won't you tell me? Mja asks what's the matter seonju? Seonju says I'm sorry, I'm a bit sensitive, I was just asking so don't mind. Yonghwa says you know she married dohyun right? Mja looks shocked and angry. Chaeryung says I know. Mja says I'm sorry. Chaeryung says what for?

Flashback to chaeryung and mja's husband (dohyun) in high school playing together (the young dohyun is played by Choi woo shik Oppaaaaaaaa).

Back at the restaurant chaeryung says you were young and in love, he told me himself that things were great with you. They are all surprised, yonghwa asks "you met dohyun?" chaeryung says yes, he knew I was in Korea and called me, the rest look at mja, she fake smiles and says yes I knew that, he told me (me:lewl liar) she says she has to use the restroom, seonju says she needs to go too, they both leave chaeryung and yonghwa at the table. Yonghwa says they're not kids anymore, going to the bathroom together. Chaeryung says right, we used to go to the bathroom together. yonghwa smiles and says when did you get back to Korea? She says a couple of months ago, yonghwa says it was you, I thought I saw wrong but it was you.

Flashback to yonghwa in the hospital, she's wearing a patients outfit, she sees chaeryung pass by but she doesn't see her clearly so she just assumes it's someone who looked like her. In her hospital room, she changes to her clothes and tells her husband she's leaving, his mom keeps treating her like the ectopic pregnancy was her fault, accusing her of sleeping around. She wants to take a pill, her husband stops her telling her she's taking too much, she says she can't stand a minute without the pills and he and his mom made her that way. He says his mom found out about her past and he wants to know how she's been living her life.

Back at the restaurant, she looks at chaeryung angrily and says it was you right? Chaeryung says what exactly? Yonghwa smirks and says forget it. Chaeryung says no, I asked what you mean? I don't know what you mean but clearly you guys misunderstood me, mentioning do hyun as well... Yonghwa stands up angrily and says I can't take this anymore, she walks to the table of the kids that were running around with their moms and says sit down and listen up, teach your kids the difference between playgrounds and public spaces, if you can't don't let them outside or maybe you should be re-educated, what if I do that right now?

Mja and seonju are at another part of the restaurant, mja is crying, why did i say I'm sorry like an idiot, what am I sorry for, did I steal him, did I break them apart? Seonju says no you didn't. Mja cries "then why is she talking that way?" seonju says she didn't talk that way, you're getting cold feet. Mja Says you're saying I have a reason to feel that way? Seonju says I mean she had no intention and you're overreacting. Did dohyun really tell you he met her? He hid it? Mja angrily says I'm sure he forgot to tell me. Seonju says how could he forget such a thing? How did he know she was back? Mja shouts what do you mean, you mean he was meeting her behind my back? No he didn't lie, she did (sigh some women are Bleh)

Flashback to mja and her husband in their bedroom at night, his phone rings, he asks who it is and goes to answer the call outside the house.

Back to the restaurant, she says I'm sure chaeryung contacted him first, but why did she lie, so I'll get suspicious of him? Seonju says no, why are you so twisted, you get sensitive whenever he is the subject, do you guys have problems? Mja says no, and what if we do? Every marriage has problems, you guys are the problem, chaeryung was always first, you think I'm taking her place, you guys and dohyun, all of you but it's not.

Flashback to high school, while chaeryung and dohyun are playing, mja is watching sadly from a corner.

Back at the restaurant, mja says I was first, it was chaeryung that interfered (aigoo mtcheww delulu much), she wants to go back, seonju holds her and says is that why you did it, mja goes "what?", seonju says that night, you were supposed to call 911 while we went to look for an adult, I saw you.

Flashback to the night of yonghwa's party, mja in a phone booth, shaking with the phone in her hands instead of calling 911 and seonju watching from a distance.

Back at the restaurant, she says you had no intention of calling the police, mja says what are you trying say.

Back to the night, after 40 days and 40 nights, aunty finally called 911.

Back at the restaurant, seonju says I asked you to call the police but you didn't call right away, the police didn't get there on time, chaeryung wouldn't have been as hurt if the police came quicker, I thought it was strange (me:ok what about you that was just looking instead of rushing to the phone). Mja says how could you imagine that, seonju says I wish it was me imagining. Mja Says it is, I was so scared that I was numb and thought of dohyun as well but I called it in. Seonju says good to hear that. Mja says what about you, remember what you did? You're the one that brushed her off, you and your mother covered up what happened to chaeryung and collected money from the mothers' of the bad boys (heol!) you and achaeryung were best friends right? She's about to walk away and sees chaeryung coming to look for them, they are both shocked.

Flashback to high school, seonju is crying, she wants to go report herself to the police as a witness but her mother says she should say she was never there because a

woman's life is ruined if her name is mentioned around such a thing, you can't change anything and it won't disappear, I'll die if you go to the police.

The three girls are crying in the principal's office, their parents are there, the principal tells them they've made the right choice, that it's good for the school and the boys' parents are people of power and it's a losing game.

Chaeryung goes to school and she's the topic of rumors, from people saying she's pregnant to people saying she seduced the boys, she has a boyfriend, the worst part, her 3 friends don't even look at her, they pretend they don't know her (wow).

Back to the present, the detectives visit their hometown and hear the story about her rape and the rumors that follow, apparently one of the guys died in an accident and people said chaeryung killed him for revenge, later her and her family left the hometown and they were rumors that she killed herself.

The detectives visit the policeman who was in charge of the rape case, he said it was pretty obvious but nobody came forward as a witness because they were settled with money. The detective asked about the boy that died, the old detective said it doesn't matter cos the statute of limitations had reached, turns out it was the exact day chaeryung died (me:wawu). The detectives say they'd like to meet the suspects.

The detective goes to mja, she says she has nothing to say, detective says she didn't tell him chaeryung and her husband dated, she angrily asks what's that got to do with this, why are you harassing me? Detective says he isn't, he just thinks the past is relevant to this case. Did she come to take revenge on her old friends?

Flashback to the restaurant, it's an awkward silence tins, chaeryung says no one is asking, don't you want to know how I lived? If not, people at least ask as a courtesy. Seonju says we're curious but.. Chaeryung says I understand, you're scared to ask, you'd feel miserable if I spit out my miserable past. Yonghwa says you say you understand but you're making us uneasy. Chaeryung smiles and says am I? Then I apologize, should I answer the question you really want to ask? Yonghwa says what do we want to know the most, even I am curious? Chaeryung says why am I here suddenly after all these years? The day of the incident, when I was taken against my will and things happened, you don't have to feel guilty yonghwa, I hated you over and over, but looking back after years, it was my fault, you didn't drag me on a leash (me:hush sister, it's not your fault that you met animals who rape). She looks at seonju and says I understand you brushed me off, it awas a scary situation. She looks at mja and says I understand why you betrayed me, people talking, staring, it was too much to handle, you can't live with that all around you, you guys were too young and weak to goA against your parents and teachers, if we were in each other's shoes, I might have done the same, I don't know about forgiveness but I can understand, so I missed you guys, we were good before all that happened, maybe we could go back, that's why I'm here. She suddenly turns all dark and serious and says would you believe me if I said that's why I'm here, you wouldn't believe would you? You wouldn't. Then how about this? You disabled my body and soul and blamed it all on me, that destroyed my father and mother, my whole family. What if you all were living a happy life, your lives should be destroyed as mine did, you all should feel the despair, loneliness, pain, anger and fear. Would you believe me if that's why I came? She starts crying and says yes you would, yes you'd believe that, she stands up and leaves sadly. Yonghwa says I was right, she came for revenge, she's here to destroy our lives as she feels what happened was unjust. Seonju says she's saying the right things, she deserves to say that and we deserve to hear it. Yonghwa says I know that, if I were her, I'd have killed you a long time ago. Mja Says she's just talking right, she's not going to do anything right? Yonghwa says she already did, thanks to her, my life is falling apart, I may get a divorce, I had an ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage, after that my mother in law has been saying I'm cheap, my husband's against me too. Mja Says I thought you had no problems. Yonghwa says chaeryung caused the problem, seonju asks how? Yonghwa says when I studied abroad, I did drugs and was messed up and I said I saw her once, she exposed me, mja says no way yonghwa says I know it, my husband is a medical doctor, he knows ectopic pregnancy isn't caused by irresponsibility, so why dig up my past over that? Someone told him. Seonju says maybe it's not her, yonghwa says I saw her at our hospital once, I understand her but this won't compensate for her life, if she behaves like that, I won't just do nothing. She turns to mja and says be careful too, keep your eye on dohyun, she turns to seonju and says don't think chaeryung is naive, did something already happen? Seonju runs out and says she has to be somewhere.

Chaeryung is going to her car and at the underground parking garage, a group of boys on bikes come speeding through and she's scared (me:eeyah the trauma), the boys pass and she slumps on the floor, seonju is watching her from a distance till chaeryung is able to drive off.

Seonju flashesback to the policeman in charge of her daughter's case telling her that the accident happened in the dark and the only witness was a child who said it was a Grey car, chaeryung'S car is Grey(ghen ghen). Seonju imagines her stalking and hitting her daughter. She calls yonghwa and tells her eunji was hit by a car, both of them suspect chaeryung but no one wants to be the first to say it, yonghwa does say, if she was in chaeryung'S shoes, she might have done it.

Seonju runs to the police station and tells them to monitor chaeryung.

At yonghwa's house, she's about to take her pills, her husband tells her to stop that she's addicted, she says if she's addicted, why did he stop her therapy, he says he wants to change her hospital, she says he should stop with the excuses and ask for a divorce since that's what he wants, he asks if she'll divorce him, she says just say the truth, I know someone came to you saying she's my friend, whatever she said don't believe her. He says what are you talking about, she says I know it's because of her but I won't leave without a fight, I won't let it all fall apart. Husband says you haven't been sane for a while, and we haven't been well for quite a while, so let's drop this, I can't do this anymore.

Chaeryung is at home looking at pictures from high school, she and her friends, she and dohyun, her phone rings.

Mja and dohyun are in bed, she asks if there's anything he has to tell her, he acts suspicious and says there's nothing, his phone rings, he picks it and starts going out, she says don't answer it, I know it's chaeryung.

At chaeryung'S house, yonghwa was the one calling to ask for directions, she goes to chaeryung'S house and slaps her, chaeryung slaps her back (yes!) yonghwa tries to slap again, chaeryung pushes her to the floor. Yonghwa screams what is wrong with you? Chaeryung says ask yourself that, good thing I learnt to fight, do you want to fight? Yonghwa says no, I'm here to talk. Chaeryung says that's nice too, start talking, I was waiting for you to come apologize, to come resolve a problem. Yonghwa says yes, I'm here to resolve a problem, chaeryung says convince me. Yonghwa says, we're not as well as you think we are, maybe not as much as you but we were punished as well, we suffered enough, everytime I thought of it, it drove me crazy. Without your harassment, I was punished enough. Chaeryung says I harrased you, when, how? Yonghwa shouts you don't know? Chaeryung shouts I don't know. Yonghwa says you, yourself, your existence makes me suffer, you appearing like this. Chaeryung is shocked

At mja's house, dohyun says you thought chaeryung and I had an affair? Mja says I'm not suspicious of you but chaeryung keeps... He says it's not like that, it's nothing like that.

The detectives are discussing, the old detective tells them that the family of the boy that died used to come beg him everyday to find the culprit(me:idiots so your son can rape, but he shouldn't be murdered), I focused on Kim do Hyun, he was chaeryung'S boyfriend, he must have been furious but we couldn't prove anything because chaeryung was his alibi, she said she was with him all through.

Flashback to high school, dohyun goes to confess to chaeryung that he killed one of the boys that raped her, he's terrified and shaking, she hugs him.

Back to the present, dohyun is being questioned by the police, they tell him to confess since the statute of limitation is over anyway, the policeman accuses him of killing chaeryung because he was scared she'd confess that she wasn't with him the day he killed the guy.

Dohyun flashes back to meeting with chaeryung, she's very happy to see him but he's not, she asks how he knew she's back in Korea, he said the detective in charge of her case called him, he looked you up cos the statute of limitations was almost over and he saw your passport entry record. She says yes I got his call, is that why you called me, because you were worried?, he says I'm sorry.

Back to the present, the policeman gathers all 4 of them and say the statute of limitations might be over but chaeryung'S case is just starting, cause of death is heart attack induced by poison, we see it as a homicide not suicide, I believe 1 of you is the perpetrator or did it all together, maybe not, anyways now the LEE chaeryung case has started.

At the police station dohyun looks at mja in suspicion and flashes back to him telling her the story about killing one of the guys, she's crying and saying she thought they were cheating, she hugs him and says he shouldn't worry, she'll protect him, ill protect you till the statute of limitation is over, I won't let anything happen to you.

Present day at the station yonghwa looks at seonju in suspicion and remembers seonju saying she won't let chaeryung get away if she's responsible for eunji's accident. Basically all 4 of them are suspicious of each other.

Flashback to the day chaeryung dies, she calls her 3 friends to her house, she writes a note "I'll die soon" apparently she has cancer "I was scared that I'd die alone" we see her coming from the doctor when yonghwa saw her at the hospital "I thought of you guys, I hated you but suddenly I missed you, that's why I'm back, I thought it'd be OK after all this time, maybe we could smile, maybe my last moments weren't going to be lonely, that's what I thought, but I couldn't contact you, I hesitated" we see her in seonju's neighborhood recognizing eunji and talking to her. "you wouldn't know how happy I was to come see you guys but to all of you, I was a scary thing so I got twisted, I was the one to forgive and you should ask for my forgiveness but why should I feel like I'm the bad one?. We see her preparing the poison and leaving the door half open "maybe you're the victim, maybe we're all victims, I know but can't seem to forgive you, you shouldn't have abandoned me, why again? I'm still scared, I'm scared that I'm alone till the last minute, I'm lonely, so I'm going to invite you, I'll break each of you apart, doubt each other over my death, doubt yourselves, this is the revenge I have against you who abandoned me, if you won't cry for me, remember me at least, till the day you all die, remember me". She burns the note, writes the fake suicide note, drinks poisoned tea and dies. The endeu

I would rate this 10/10

WHAT I LIKED
1. The story but man I was angry, these friends are scum, they are horrible people and they deserve to burn in hell. I can understand the brushing off and not calling 911 on time cos you're scared, I can understand them listening to their dumba** parents and teachers, even in 2020, there's stigma associated with rape talk more of early 90s Korea but you know your parents accepted blood money and you sit quiet and watch her get bullied in school, wow that's just the height and they were her best friends, they don't even have to talk but at least show some support to the girl going through hell but no they didn't even look at her, I'm legit surprised she didn't commit suicide then, so these horrible people grow up with the guilt but still blame everything on her, she came in peace but they still turned her into their scapegoat, the cause of all their problems, honestly chaeryung was naive, I don't know if it's cancer meds that fried her brain but which stupid friends is she looking for, are those ones friends, people that she should have deleted from her memory since the day they betrayed her in high school lewl, I'm so angry, she's not serious. And sure they'll doubt each other and continue to suffer but she's the one that's dead not them, they'll live long and probably realize that none of them killed her Las Las, they are horrible people, they won't feel any remorse for her death, I do believe she wasted her life except if she legit gave up cos of cancer plus her trauma, I'm sad, I wish she didn't let all these things win but honestly if she didn't kill herself, one of them would have killed her, yonghwa thinks she's responsible for her life failures, seonju thinks she hit her child, man will not allow mja see road(Lmao honestly I hate her the most cos she's putting p*nis person before anything else), idiotic dohyun would have killed her thinking she would turn on him which makes absolutely no sense cos he basically got revenge for her, she would worship him, I'm sure he felt more guilt cos he married her best friend and probably thought a woman scorned bla bla bla

My (hopefully) unbiased opinion : lol first of all, sejeong's song was produced by zico and I was expecting rap, lol I was so surprised when I realized it was a ballad then I remembered produced doesn't mean singing, anyway it is a very beautiful ballad, sejeong's voice is heaven and I don’t know why I thought zico wouldn't produce a ballad like it makes no sense.

Hahahahaha. I love that their MV focuses on them, no distractions. They had two outfits only and I kept wondering how the white wasn’t stained. I liked how the set got messier as the song progressed. I enjoyed it and I hope you did too.

woman's life is ruined if her name is mentioned around such a thing, you can't change anything and it won't disappear, I'll die if you go to the police.

The three girls are crying in the principal's office, their parents are there, the principal tells them they've made the right choice, that it's good for the school and the boys' parents are people of power and it's a losing game.

Chaeryung goes to school and she's the topic of rumors, from people saying she's pregnant to people saying she seduced the boys, she has a boyfriend, the worst part, her 3 friends don't even look at her, they pretend they don't know her (wow).

Back to the present, the detectives visit their hometown and hear the story about her rape and the rumors that follow, apparently one of the guys died in an accident and people said chaeryung killed him for revenge, later her and her family left the hometown and they were rumors that she killed herself.

The detectives visit the policeman who was in charge of the rape case, he said it was pretty obvious but nobody came forward as a witness because they were settled with money. The detective asked about the boy that died, the old detective said it doesn't matter cos the statute of limitations had reached, turns out it was the exact day chaeryung died (me:wawu). The detectives say they'd like to meet the suspects.

The detective goes to mja, she says she has nothing to say, detective says she didn't tell him chaeryung and her husband dated, she angrily asks what's that got to do with this, why are you harassing me? Detective says he isn't, he just thinks the past is relevant to this case. Did she come to take revenge on her old friends?

Flashback to the restaurant, it's an awkward silence tins, chaeryung says no one is asking, don't you want to know how I lived? If not, people at least ask as a courtesy. Seonju says we're curious but.. Chaeryung says I understand, you're scared to ask, you'd feel miserable if I spit out my miserable past. Yonghwa says you say you understand but you're making us uneasy. Chaeryung smiles and says am I? Then I apologize, should I answer the question you really want to ask? Yonghwa says what do we want to know the most, even I am curious? Chaeryung says why am I here suddenly after all these years? The day of the incident, when I was taken against my will and things happened, you don't have to feel guilty yonghwa, I hated you over and over, but looking back after years, it was my fault, you didn't drag me on a leash (me:hush sister, it's not your fault that you met animals who rape). She looks at seonju and says I understand you brushed me off, it awas a scary situation. She looks at mja and says I understand why you betrayed me, people talking, staring, it was too much to handle, you can't live with that all around you, you guys were too young and weak to goA against your parents and teachers, if we were in each other's shoes, I might have done the same, I don't know about forgiveness but I can understand, so I missed you guys, we were good before all that happened, maybe we could go back, that's why I'm here. She suddenly turns all dark and serious and says would you believe me if I said that's why I'm here, you wouldn't believe would you? You wouldn't. Then how about this? You disabled my body and soul and blamed it all on me, that destroyed my father and mother, my whole family. What if you all were living a happy life, your lives should be destroyed as mine did, you all should feel the despair, loneliness, pain, anger and fear. Would you believe me if that's why I came? She starts crying and says yes you would, yes you'd believe that, she stands up and leaves sadly. Yonghwa says I was right, she came for revenge, she's here to destroy our lives as she feels what happened was unjust. Seonju says she's saying the right things, she deserves to say that and we deserve to hear it. Yonghwa says I know that, if I were her, I'd have killed you a long time ago. Mja Says she's just talking right, she's not going to do anything right? Yonghwa says she already did, thanks to her, my life is falling apart, I may get a divorce, I had an ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage, after that my mother in law has been saying I'm cheap, my husband's against me too. Mja Says I thought you had no problems. Yonghwa says chaeryung caused the problem, seonju asks how? Yonghwa says when I studied abroad, I did drugs and was messed up and I said I saw her once, she exposed me, mja says no way yonghwa says I know it, my husband is a medical doctor, he knows ectopic pregnancy isn't caused by irresponsibility, so why dig up my past over that? Someone told him. Seonju says maybe it's not her, yonghwa says I saw her at our hospital once, I understand her but this won't compensate for her life, if she behaves like that, I won't just do nothing. She turns to mja and says be careful too, keep your eye on dohyun, she turns to seonju and says don't think chaeryung is naive, did something already happen? Seonju runs out and says she has to be somewhere.

Chaeryung is going to her car and at the underground parking garage, a group of boys on bikes come speeding through and she's scared (me:eeyah the trauma), the boys pass and she slumps on the floor, seonju is watching her from a distance till chaeryung is able to drive off.

Seonju flashesback to the policeman in charge of her daughter's case telling her that the accident happened in the dark and the only witness was a child who said it was a Grey car, chaeryung'S car is Grey(ghen ghen). Seonju imagines her stalking and hitting her daughter. She calls yonghwa and tells her eunji was hit by a car, both of them suspect chaeryung but no one wants to be the first to say it, yonghwa does say, if she was in chaeryung'S shoes, she might have done it.

Seonju runs to the police station and tells them to monitor chaeryung.

At yonghwa's house, she's about to take her pills, her husband tells her to stop that she's addicted, she says if she's addicted, why did he stop her therapy, he says he wants to change her hospital, she says he should stop with the excuses and ask for a divorce since that's what he wants, he asks if she'll divorce him, she says just say the truth, I know someone came to you saying she's my friend, whatever she said don't believe her. He says what are you talking about, she says I know it's because of her but I won't leave without a fight, I won't let it all fall apart. Husband says you haven't been sane for a while, and we haven't been well for quite a while, so let's drop this, I can't do this anymore.

Chaeryung is at home looking at pictures from high school, she and her friends, she and dohyun, her phone rings.

Mja and dohyun are in bed, she asks if there's anything he has to tell her, he acts suspicious and says there's nothing, his phone rings, he picks it and starts going out, she says don't answer it, I know it's chaeryung.

At chaeryung'S house, yonghwa was the one calling to ask for directions, she goes to chaeryung'S house and slaps her, chaeryung slaps her back (yes!) yonghwa tries to slap again, chaeryung pushes her to the floor. Yonghwa screams what is wrong with you? Chaeryung says ask yourself that, good thing I learnt to fight, do you want to fight? Yonghwa says no, I'm here to talk. Chaeryung says that's nice too, start talking, I was waiting for you to come apologize, to come resolve a problem. Yonghwa says yes, I'm here to resolve a problem, chaeryung says convince me. Yonghwa says, we're not as well as you think we are, maybe not as much as you but we were punished as well, we suffered enough, everytime I thought of it, it drove me crazy. Without your harassment, I was punished enough. Chaeryung says I harrased you, when, how? Yonghwa shouts you don't know? Chaeryung shouts I don't know. Yonghwa says you, yourself, your existence makes me suffer, you appearing like this. Chaeryung is shocked

At mja's house, dohyun says you thought chaeryung and I had an affair? Mja says I'm not suspicious of you but chaeryung keeps... He says it's not like that, it's nothing like that.

The detectives are discussing, the old detective tells them that the family of the boy that died used to come beg him everyday to find the culprit(me:idiots so your son can rape, but he shouldn't be murdered), I focused on Kim do Hyun, he was chaeryung'S boyfriend, he must have been furious but we couldn't prove anything because chaeryung was his alibi, she said she was with him all through.

Flashback to high school, dohyun goes to confess to chaeryung that he killed one of the boys that raped her, he's terrified and shaking, she hugs him.

Back to the present, dohyun is being questioned by the police, they tell him to confess since the statute of limitation is over anyway, the policeman accuses him of killing chaeryung because he was scared she'd confess that she wasn't with him the day he killed the guy.

Dohyun flashes back to meeting with chaeryung, she's very happy to see him but he's not, she asks how he knew she's back in Korea, he said the detective in charge of her case called him, he looked you up cos the statute of limitations was almost over and he saw your passport entry record. She says yes I got his call, is that why you called me, because you were worried?, he says I'm sorry.

Back to the present, the policeman gathers all 4 of them and say the statute of limitations might be over but chaeryung'S case is just starting, cause of death is heart attack induced by poison, we see it as a homicide not suicide, I believe 1 of you is the perpetrator or did it all together, maybe not, anyways now the LEE chaeryung case has started.

At the police station dohyun looks at mja in suspicion and flashes back to him telling her the story about killing one of the guys, she's crying and saying she thought they were cheating, she hugs him and says he shouldn't worry, she'll protect him, ill protect you till the statute of limitation is over, I won't let anything happen to you.

Present day at the station yonghwa looks at seonju in suspicion and remembers seonju saying she won't let chaeryung get away if she's responsible for eunji's accident. Basically all 4 of them are suspicious of each other.

Flashback to the day chaeryung dies, she calls her 3 friends to her house, she writes a note "I'll die soon" apparently she has cancer "I was scared that I'd die alone" we see her coming from the doctor when yonghwa saw her at the hospital "I thought of you guys, I hated you but suddenly I missed you, that's why I'm back, I thought it'd be OK after all this time, maybe we could smile, maybe my last moments weren't going to be lonely, that's what I thought, but I couldn't contact you, I hesitated" we see her in seonju's neighborhood recognizing eunji and talking to her. "you wouldn't know how happy I was to come see you guys but to all of you, I was a scary thing so I got twisted, I was the one to forgive and you should ask for my forgiveness but why should I feel like I'm the bad one?. We see her preparing the poison and leaving the door half open "maybe you're the victim, maybe we're all victims, I know but can't seem to forgive you, you shouldn't have abandoned me, why again? I'm still scared, I'm scared that I'm alone till the last minute, I'm lonely, so I'm going to invite you, I'll break each of you apart, doubt each other over my death, doubt yourselves, this is the revenge I have against you who abandoned me, if you won't cry for me, remember me at least, till the day you all die, remember me". She burns the note, writes the fake suicide note, drinks poisoned tea and dies. The endeu
