This question has been on my mind for quite sometime now. I wonder why people travelling out of the country usually find it difficult informing their friends and colleagues, some even go as far as not telling their relatives sef.

There was this friend of mine, we do rapport very well, omoh, this next thing I knew was seeing his WhatsApp status one evening like that, dude was already in Holland. I was like ifeanyi, "you no even tell me say you dey commot" mah no lie, the thing do me somehow, but we move!!

Another friend of mine, a female colleague left for the UK and didn't even tell me she had plans of migrating not to talk of obtaining visa and flying out.
So I ask, why exactly do people fail to inform friends and colleagues about their departure??

Is it the "Village people mentality" or something ?? Cause if it was me, and I happen to be pretty close to someone, I would tell him or her.

Been discussed on another thread, search for it. How many friends do you think they have May be 200. So they should tell everyone At least he didn't block you from seeing whatsapp status. If they tell you, you may tell another person till every one go sabi. Not safe

I read stories of people who informed people about their plans to travel out or their journey but it didn't work out for stupid or no reasons at all.



Misery loves company o, so better to inform them from abroad

You can never tell who is who, so it's better you travel abroad and inform them before they find out from social media and get angry

It depends on relationship you have with the said person,if it should be me,only four people will know,which are my parents,my boyfriend and best friend(he also took me along when he traveled out).

I don't believe in superstition that they might make it not possible to travel but i believe in seeing result before making announcement! I'm not the type that love giving process but rather result ☺ .

They don't want to be bombarded with requests for financial help by family and "long lost" family.

Well some of us do not like people meddling in our personal affairs or knowing our next step in life, it's not about village people rubbish or anything, it's just how we are!

See, I see it as being stupid. Nigerian mentality is the issue here.
Shay the people way you tell go stand block you for airport, make your flight no travel?

On a side note, it's a good one too, but at least like minds is a way better bet. Discuss travel plans with those who in the obvious has the same thinking you do have. Stop thinking everyone wants your downfall (some people day, but remove negative energy)

You don't have to be very secretive all the time, talk it with friends way get sense.

Getting visa does not guarantee entry to any country. If another thing happened at the Port of entry and the person was denied entry, how many people will he/she explain what happened to?
