iCode2: By the way, new passports have the old passports number written somewhere. If the Border officer really intends to inspect and you give them your new passport, it will show the same name and they will see the new and old passport number. So you don’t even need to tie both with rubber band, just keep the old passport in your back pocket in case they ask for it- dazzal. 1 Like |

Shercorp: Buy straight from the show room or second hand forecourt and you can buy online from a private individual or company, these days some companies will deliver straight to your door and you will have 2 weeks to change your mind.. You will need to arrange insurance and pay road tax before you drive it on the road. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Hello, There is a teaching path going on right now through PGCE Get into teaching are the ones overseeing the programme through UCAS and UK gov. Universities and some teaching centres have been partnered also. You need to have 2.2 at least in maths, physics, chemistry but I am not sure of accounting. Find out more on Get Into Teaching website. All the best. Obigaju: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Vooom: Yes you are exempted from paying council tax, but you need to email your tax exemption certificate from your University to your council with your details. That is what i did, as i am in the same shoes with you, make i enjoy council tax freedom for one year at least. |

Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by omopapa: 9:42am On Nov 20, 2020 |
Insurance quotes are relative and are determined by many factors like Age of driver (under 25s are seen as high risk drivers) Area where u live (some cities are more expensive than the other Occupation (some jobs are considered to be at higher driving risk) Type of car (how economical and cost of the car) License age (how long u have had ur license) So as a new driver in the UK and for someone who might not have enough UK driving history it’s expected that the insurance quote will be high. But u can apply for blackbox (a device that monitors how you drive) this might reduce the quote a little Shercorp: 1 Like 3 Shares |

Shercorp: Factors to consider 1. Cost of car - surely 5000£ is too small if your car is a 2020 Aston Martin. 2. Age of driver 3. Profession of driver 4. How long have you had your license for? 1 Like |

I would avoid any petrol car over 100k mileage and for diesel 140k mileage, of course except if it has a good service history (with evidence) ThinkPad01: 1 Like |

LagosismyHome:While living in the former rented flats, my girls wrote on the wall, I cleaned it, bought a white paint from Wilko and painted the walls. It was a job well done to me but when I moved out, the letting agency that did the inspection said the paints were not done by a Professional. I had to agree to let go of £78 for it to be repainted. This new house, they have splashed some paints on the ceiling again. I have cleaned and painted on it with my white paint hoping that I got this one right otherwise some part of the deposit will go for repainting of the ceiling. It is what it is. 2 Likes |

Vooom: Why not just use normal post or DHL?..... It would arrive in under 7 days (but be prepared to be slammed an import duty fee)...... For phones you gave eBay/gumtree/FBMP etc etc...... Very risky though........ You could buy the phone legitimately, but a few weeks or months later, seller blacklists it......... Best to spend £200 buying a new mid ranger, than £600 on a used flagship, that later gets blacklisted......... 1 Like |
