I'm very sure you didn't watch the clip cos at least two soldiers fired directly into the crowd, but like I said earlier, you can't shame the shameless.

I encourage everyone who's yet to see the clip to watch it, it's just 5mins long and make your own deductions

https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/18/africa/lagos-nigeria-lekki-toll-gate-feature-intl/index.html

Calling me names doesn't solve anything. They were blank rounds. See You Tube video below in slow motion and the difference in muzzle flash between live and blank bullets.

People were standing in front where the soldiers were but nobody was running or falling over even after several shots. Then you have clips we have seen before cobbled together.

To put some things in perspective so as not to be misconstrued, not that I mind anyways, we are all in search of the truth.

I for one want to know what truly transpired at the Toll gate. Even as I have never bought the common chants of a massacre, I am convinced that shots were fired that injured people but not convinced that they came from the guns the soldiers in all the videos carried.

Even the one CNN claimed was a direct shot into the crowd by one of the soldiers on site was a blank and from that distance would do no harm.

On the day of the incident, shell casings of pistol rounds were part of what was displayed by the protesters as what was fired at them.

From CNN's timestamp, the boy wrapped in flag was shot at 1:30am. This time is inconsistent with the time the soldiers were reported to be at the toll gate.

Further, plenty of statements from protesters from the same video evidence alluded to the fact that much of whatever shooting happened after midnight was not done by the military.

Several witness statements put the military at the venue for just about 2hrs max.

So the questions are;

1. Who continued the shootings?

2. Who shot with live rounds as all video evidence showing the military shooting to disperse showed only blanks being fired?

3. Several witnesses reported shots being fired from both ends of the toll, but video evidence shows the military only approached from one end... So who or what group were firing from the other end?

4. Witnesses say the military shot at them fatally yet many had the courage to carry the bodies and drop same at the feet of the men, yet they let them with an intact memory of what has just transpired?

These and more questions demand answers and if this was a ploy to cause a destabilization, it does not only cast an aspersion on the campaign for security and free civil right in Nigeria both just goes a long way to prove the gullibility of most Nigerians and the truth that we still stand on very fragile foundations on all that concerns our nationhood; something we are called by duty to protect.

In the words of Fareed Zakari on the American Election "...our democracy nation state is fragile and must be protected."

There would be blood stains everywhere.

Or did the soldiers go their with mops, I don't understand?

I will never support violence by security agencies on civilians but it doesn't just add up.

Quite right. We are searching for the truth of what happened and everybody culpable should be dealt with, but I will not let emotions cloud my judgement. Same way as the army lied they were not there initially, so the EndSars protesters lied with all the fake pictures of dead people. Nobody can take the moral high ground.

I have gone through it and I am distraught.

I joined the protest at the beginning and after a few days, I started to notice a shift in the trajectory... A subtle subterfuge, amplified by some of the leading campaigners.

At first I thought it was an honest overwhelming show of emotions but as time past, I started to sense the true picture... The youths were becoming an unknowing tool in a game of international subjugation.

A repeat of Tunisia had come to play in our front yard and we being carried away. On here and on twitter, I called for caution because I couldn't outrightly assert that my thoughts were facts.

But, you see, I saw it clearly when Hilary Clinton chose to comment... I saw it like the guy on twitter that truly what they did with the Arab spring was attempted right under our noses but through sheer grace and uncommon favour, we escaped with only a nick.

Maybe someday, they would write an expose novel on it like they did for the attempted assassination of Gamel Nasser.

This is by far the most investigate report available online.

He has just said what some of us here have been asking and saying from day one of this incident.

In this case, the accusers need to show culpability.

I don't support this government, but we cannot grow Nigeria by destroying the country with fake news, concocted stories, lies and sensationalism.

I look at the likes of Reno Omokri ranting on twitter daily, and I laugh.

This is a man that has been in government since 1999, worked under Atiku during Obasanjo's regime, worked under Jonathan as vice, worked for Jonathan as President, also worked for Atiku again in the last election.

What did he do all the years he was in power, let us as Nigerians hold our government to account, but we cannot destroy this country all in the name of chasing clout.

This country was burning, I was constantly calling for peace on here.

Asking for evidence, the rush of blood to the head, completely ruining our country. For what reason you might ask?

Look at Rivers state, descending into tribal clashes.

Look at Edo state, 2 prisons flung open. Criminals bounced out.

Imagine the killers of Uwa, the Uniben student that was brutally raped and killed, here killers would also have bounced out of prison.

25 people dead in Benin this week due to cult clashes.

Negotiations has always been key, dialogue is the answer.

In a multiethnic country like Nigeria, things can easily turn tribal, who wins at the end of the day?

All Nigerians, government and people will lose. This is the fact!!!

Exactly. For me I am a military enthusiast and try to stay away from politics. I was born in Nigeria and regardless of who is in power, I don't want to see the country burn based on unsubstantiated or badly put together reports.

I can step away and say I don't care because I don't live in Nigeria anymore, but who will suffer?

Mine is, the economy and security should grow and thrive in Nigeria.

I have seen enough evidence to believe we can grow both, at least the Defence Industry, the Economy and Security.

I look at the likes of Turkey, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Czech Republic, Brazil and I say to myself, I want that, I know we can make that happen in our Country Nigeria.

If LT Gen Ihejirika(Rtd), did not build that ugly Igirigi, most people would doubt our capability to build the ARA today.

haha, remember igirigi, God, people laughed oh... look at us now. Ara, Ezugwu, making us proud. SDB killing it too. Respect... Much Respect.

but Just to correct a few notions.

Vietnam is a unitary state, and a one-party socialist republic. The Communist party has been in power since the end of the Vietnam war in 1975, and every five years elects a new leadership. The party has 4.5 million members in a country of 93 million people, who have no direct say in how their leaders are elected.

Singapore is a one party state with an illusion of democracy, that has been ruled by the same party, P.A.P since 1965

Nigeria cannot, and should not seek to be in league with these countries; it will not work, it will lead to her quick disintegration, due to Nigeria's multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multi-party, federal, democratic structure, where freedom of speech and freedom to associate is guaranteed in its constitution.

In Singapore or Vietnam, no one has the right to free speech, meaning no one can speak their mind.

In terms of style of government, Singapore and Vietnam belong in the same league as Chad, North Korea, and China

The league of Nations that Nigeria belong to based on its complexity, constitution and style of government include: America, Australia, Britain, Chile, Ghana, Kenya. e.t.c

End of Correction

Personal opinion:
Often times, people judge development by how many shinny buildings exist in a country, until they live in said country and find that they cannot express their views and opinions beyond what is permissible by the national despot. Nigeria must not seek to sacrifice its hard-won democratic tenets on the alter of vague and promised shinning buildings absent of true democratic values. Not just by mouth, but by practice, allow people to protest, its their constitutional right, do not kill them, shouldn't police have proper riot gear, shields to break up protests? At no time should the Army be coerced into civilian issues, the Nigerian Army should be smart enough by now to know when to stay in their barracks. NA needs to learn a lot more from NAF and NN. Soldiers can be deployed to guard and protect sensitive federal installations against damage, but other than that stay in the barracks, defend Nigeria against external threats, this is the primary job of the Nigerian Army.

Rtd. General Buhari would not be president of the federal republic of Nigeria today if he was shot and killed while protesting pre 2015.

Jesus is lord

Ode 2 China is part of the P5
They will use their veto against any sanctions.
Sometimes resist the urge to write.
The Nigerian Military doesn’t have a dedicated Military Satellite System. No one said they did .
They have the King and the AT-42 that provide more than enough.
Just to throw this in Russia is also a member of the P5
They will also veto any sanctions.
Now go and play with your toys
c3 means command control and communications intelligence. That's what you don't know. Russia and China unilaterally agreed on arms sanctions on Iran and North Korea, take a look at NK's Air force, apart from their ballastic missiles which may not be very reliable, they have little modern equipment. US economic sanctions alone crippled Venezuela, the US and its economic allies are Nigeria's largest trade partners, any economic sanctions will make things very messy in Nigeria. Most of Nigeria's purchases are not very advanced. If the government remains the way it is, and the somehow manage to have money to go for some deadly arms. Two things will happen, a proposal for weapons embargo on certain class of weapons will be proposed, if that does not work, certain economic sanctions will be placed on Nigeria and countries that will want to trade certain things with her, effectively reducing the income and GDP. State dept under trump placed sanctions on Iran to the extent that their oil exports reduced to near zero. The way you write, makes one think that Russia and China care about Nigeria, Russia and China already have certain military bases in Central Africa regions, djibouti and another country that I cannot remember. The US and France are the only countries with interest in the sahel region. Nigeria is far more dependent on the US than you'd think.
