Benue trough is not benue state. It's a geological structure.. It stretches from the SW to NE region of Nigeria and even beyond.

The crude there might be in Enugu State because they share boundary with Benue. This exactly what happened in Anambra and Kogi people later came to lay claim to it. Benue is not an oil producing land.
