How is the country wicked for this?

Shouldn't a dud cheque or a failed transaction come with charges or a penalty? What of the charges incurred by those two processed it? Who will pay?

If you don't have enough balance in your account, don't issue a standing order or direct debit, or cancel the one you have issued.

It is irresponsible to issue or sustain a direct debit on unfunded accounts. It's also criminal if it's for a service that you have already enjoyed.

On this one, I don't see why Nigeria is a wicked country as you have said unless you're willing to educate me on it.

LOL i know this will deteriorate to this level, I literally stopped using Bank Last Month, I withdrew all my money!!

What prompted me to this, is because last month, I had no money in my account, So I saved up #2,000, and to my greatest surprise I received credit alert which says, "#1,950 has been deposited to your account, #50 was deducted!!!! I was like WTF??

A couple of days later, I went to withdraw #1000, and then again, #50 was deducted from my account, So this people literally bill me for every transaction I make!!

What kind of exploitation is that?? This country Is so fùçkēd up, Since Crude oil is becoming worthless now, Government are looking for ways to Exploit the citizens by all means to further continue their Looting!!

I will rather buy a piggy bank and saved up my money in there!!

Do you understand the policy or you just type without clear understanding? The government is protecting your interest and you call that wickedness, what type of human being are you?
The new policy is targeted at people that issue cheques knowing fully well that they don't have money in their account or that they will not be able to fund the account before the maturity of the cheque.
In developed countries, cheque is as good as cash because you dare not issue cheques against unfunded account but here in Nigeria, people see cheque as a professional way of rubbing business partners. They collect goods and give you cheque knowing fully well there is no money in the account. Now the bank is taking measure to prevent such unscrupulous behavior and the next thing you say is that the country is wicked......

try to comprehend properly

Its not all about talking here !

they will keep and keep i repeat keep doing the same to us as Nigeria unless we stand and fight back........

which tribe commit more of Money laundering in Nigeria ?

still the government will focus on the masses trying to survive as thieve, where in the world will the sender and the receiver be charge for local transfer ? "Nigeria"

Because, we all kept quite on the 50 bank charges on every transaction, that is why they are trying to impose another law on us.....

we all need to speak up! am not a Politician or planning to be 1 .... but Nigerian needs to wake up...... increase fuel, increase nepa bill, increase food, increase taxes, increase in all but salary not increase.

who did we wrong?

how did we get to this stage ?

we all need to trace our steps back were Nigeria was Nigerian" Giant of Africa" were $1 =#1 or lesser.

everyday with different shot from the gOVERNMENT to the masses, by monday what should we expect from them again.

Nigeria!
Nigeria !!
Nigeria!!!
Nigeria!!!
Nigeria!!!!

My heart bleed whenever i hear government of Nigeria news, no one comes with JOY !

paid bank worker to come defend their new crimes.

you are a looser if you agree on this terms,
what if I tend to make a transfer of maybe #2 million and the transaction failed due to network error so I will be charged 20k for it since they say you will be charged 1%.

this is really sad for the common man because many will cry!

this is unnecessary at this time.
what banks need now is to even increase the interest rate been given to individuals on a monthly basis that's even if they give any

stop been ignorant and face the truth that the masses are crying bro!

So all failed transactions are intentional or as a result of not having enough balance in your account?

What happened to failed transactions due to network disruptions?
Re: Banks Charge Customers For Failed Transactions by styrolite(m): 5:20pm On Nov 20, 2020
The directive is being misconstrued by many folks. The transactions involved are not the regular funds transfer from your account to another account. It's only in Nigeria that people issue cheques or other payment instructions recklessly. Your cheque is as good as cash in saner climes. Government needs to educate people in order to comprehend their policies. A lot of comments show ignorance. Applying punitive measures on erring bank customers is a welcome development. It boosts the confidence in the system and of the banking public.
