The Academic Staff Union of Universities may suspend its eight-month strike action after the Nigerian Government met its key demands. The government agreed to exempt university workers from the new Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System. The government also agreed to pay all outstanding salaries with the old payment system. At the meeting with the government's delegates on Friday, ASUU insisted that their demands must be met before the strike would be suspended. Announcing the outcome of the meeting in a tweet, ASUU also said the Nigerian Government had agreed to pay additional N15bn Revitalisation Fund. "The negotiation between FG and #ASUU today yielded very good results. "The government has agreed to use the old platform before #IPPIS to pay all withheld salaries. "#UTAS is still undergoing usability test. "On revitalization, the government offered N15bn in addition to the N20bn pledged earlier." https://mobile.twitter.com/ASUUNGR/status/1329869910256840704 Source: https://insidenaija.com.ng/ASUU-may-suspends-strike-as-fg-meets-demands/ 1 Like 1 Share

Dreamliner787: I don't live in Nigeria and I don't know any student in Nigeria. I actually asked that question cause I've been reading about this strike stuff here on Nairaland for a while and each thread made it seem like it was about to end. It's just bizarre how the Nigerian government prioritizes things. How can students not be in school for that long? I mean, students not being school is just a couple of steps away from a total breakdown. Are things really that bad? I can't even begin to imagine the implications of such prolonged striking period. It's so saddening. |

Hi If you are scared of a seller running away with your money when you pay for a product or service online, you might want to consider using my escrow service. If you are also scared of ending up with sub-standard items or being sent the wrong item with no way to redeem yourself, you should consider my escrow service. Trust is a necessity for closing any business deal whether online or offline. My escrow service is here to promote that trust and help both buyers and sellers transact effortlessly and without any fear of getting duped. As an escrow service provider, I'll be the third-party in any transaction you'll carry out online. If you are paying for anything online, I'll hold your money in trust. This way your buyers will only get the money when you are satisfied with the items you receive. As a seller, if you are finding it difficult to convince your customers about the credibility of your business, you might want to ask them to use my escrow service. That way, they will be sure of getting their items and this will facilitate smoother transactions for your business. My fee is N500 which can be shared by both the buyer and seller. I believe this is a small price to pay for the safety of your funds and trusts. WhatsApp me on: https:///2347055822849 |
