Arysexy: There was no way Buhari would have relinquish power in 2019. Which is why he should not have been elected in 2015. We warned but were called Tanoids. Y'all deserve Buhari, enjoy! 2 Likes 1 Share |

obailala: Good points raised. In a way, what happened between 2009 to date is the mirror image of what happened between 1973-90. Oil prices go up, the economy does well, oil crashes, and all of a sudden everything goes bad.. The issue with this your comment though is that it is very difficult to point the fact that oil prices crash is what is causing our economic collapse. Anti-Buharists and most Nigerians would blame you for excusing government failure. Pro-Buharists would promptly say...see it isn't our guy's faullt. Something similar is happening in Venezuela. Everyone blames Maduro for the economic crisis, as well as Chavez, while everyone else blames 'The Yanquis'. Meanwhile, Venezuela went throough the same issues back in the 1980's....when they had a government that was friendly to the US. It's very difficult to have a discussion on economics on this site.. Still, let's be frank. Buhari and company should have realized from the word go that our economy is too linked to oil, and should have formulated a plan of action to deal with it.Likewise, PDP too should have had a plan since yesterday...or even 20 years ago. But both sides don't want to do the hard work of diversificaiton. 1 Like |

jajeri3216: For Nigeria to grow, we need to 1.Sell pterol and power at prices determiend by the market, not by the government. That means government saves more money which can be used for roads and railways. And it also means more investment, more refinereis, more jobs, and so on 2.Spend more on education, especally techncal education 3.Properly fund the police. 4.Look into the demands for resource control and restructuring 5.Really be seroius about fghting corruption 6.Nigerins really need to participate in their democracy 7.There is no national cake. We all gat to be productive. 8.Increase our non-oil exports. 3 Likes |

Congratulations to Sai baba. The only Nigerian head of state to record a recession in every single term of his tenure. 1983, 2016 and 2020. What a wawu! 1 Like |

Finally...on to the topic 1.Back in 1987, oil prices had fallen and been falling since October 1982..when the Great Crash happened. 2.Our agricultral sector was diinishing in importance. (The great event heralding that was the dismantling of the last groundnut pyramid in early 1982.) 3.We had a military government headed by 4.Our economy was dependent on oil...and 5.We refused to take the IMF loan previiously....we took SAP which was supposed to make our economy work better.... Nigeria is still very much the same today. Until we wake up from our resource dependency sickness....we would still be here 20 years from now.. 2 Likes |

Kayharry: There was a recession in 1983...it happened under Shagari. The recession was precipitated by the oil price crash of 1982.... Shagari was in power from October 1 1979-December 31 1983 Buhari too also inherited a recession again in 2015...from the oil price crash of April 2014.(if GEJ had won, we would have been blaming him for the recession). Nigeria's problem is dependence on oil. Buhari , even though he did not cause the recession now or in 1983-4, and 2016., has done nothing about the cause. |

A man that stays in his house and refuses to go outside and do business, will definitely enter recession. Let's continue to close our borders, so we can remain in recession. |

PhiliptheArab: You are good at shifting the blame away from buhari so from 2015 to 2020 na Gej cause am or na shagari cause am too. Or let's say from 2019 to this moment . Buhari is a failure it's as simple as that . |
