Bros and other Gurus, I secured a Fall 2021 admission at Algonquin College for my son, and the school said in the acceptance letter that we should pay 9,500 CAD for first semester tuition fees before 4th Jan 2021. Though I have the money but I dont want to pay all of that amount now as another unexpected expenditure makes that impossible in the immediate. I have sent an email to the school asking about possibility of paying half of that money as tuition deposit but no reply yet from the college. Can someone here who has gone through Algonquin college please enlighten me on whether the college has tuition deposit service and allows prospective international student to pay tuition deposit or not? Thank you as I await your kind response. Lekiboboe: 2 Likes 1 Share |

kelvine95: You can still apply for NSE despite that you are being funded mostly by the school, what you will be required to show in your my bank statement will be the required fund outside the funding from the school and you will also attach the funding with it. What matter is the proof of fund for the program. You need to know that NSE actually reduced the need to proof home ties though you are still expected to show you will leave Canada at the end of your studies but the impact of home ties is reduced as long as you submit the mybank statement with enough fund for your studies and living expenses in your account for six months and IELTS. |

Muslimity: Hi, I applied to Algonquin as well. I had a similar situation when I applied first time in 2018 where I could not pay the first semester fees an had to forfeit the admission. You can pay part but have to complete the payment before the deadline or the admission will be forfeited. I’ll advise you to make the payment if you can otherwise move the admission to winter 2022 and hopefully they’ll give a longer deadline. Best of luck |

Good day. Please I got admission to Memorial University, Newfoundland (Master's Education - Education Technology) but I graduated with 2.8 for my BSc Information Technology, do I stand a chance in getting visa? |

Thanks Ikechuqu, Registration for the first semester will start by Sept 2021 but they said the first semester tuition fees must be paid by 04th Jan 2021. I wish to pay a part of the fee now before Jan 2021 and pay the balance before the Sept 2021. Is this possible? Are you confirming that they accept this type of part payment? Please shed more light on this and on how you went about the part payment in your own case. Thanks Ikechuqu: |

Muslimity: What I mean is that you can in parts but have to complete the total amount for the tuition payment by the Jan 4th deadline. I’ve attached a screenshot of the reply I got when I had a similar situation.

Rubytouches4:Hi, Let me assume you are a Graduate (B.SC/B.A or HND) Have you gotten Admission? If NO, 1) First thing you should do is to apply for a Program in a Skool (DLI - Designated Learning Institute in Canada) that offers PGWP (Post Graduate Work Permit), the Admission letter you get is part of the documents you gonna use to apply for a Study Visa In applying for a Skool, Make sure you show Career/Academic/Logical Progression most especially your Degree/Work Experience should be resonating with the Program you are going for. So for instance, If you studied Microbiology & you are going for Accounting , that's a Very Wrong Career Progression, but if you have years of Work Experience in Accounting even though you studied Microbiology, you can still go for it. also, note that you can't just apply for any program U also gotta show Progression in the qualification of Program you are going for e.g - B.SC grad (2.1) going for a Masters - B.SC grad (2.2) & HND graduate going for a PGD/PG. Cert/ Post Baccalaureate Diploma - M.SC grad going for PH.D If you have a 2.1 and you want to go for a PG. Cert, endeavor to show cogent reasons in a convincing manner in your SOP why you are going for a PG. Cert instead of a Masters Degree. You can state your Course of Study, your grade, members in House might be able to suggest a Program you can go for that relates to either your Degree or Work Experience 2) Financial Readiness is very very important - You need to have enough money that's gonna cater for your tuition (like $14,000CAD upward , depending on the tuition amount of the program) & compulsory One-year living Expenses ($10,00 CAD). If you are to make use of a Sponsor, it should be either your Mum, Dad, Sibling or Uncle/Aunty who you bear same surname with and have known you way back in time & your Sponsor should have enough money to the extent he/she will still have substantial amount of money in his/her account even after sponsoring you Also, both parties should avoid any form of Lump sum of Money in their Accounts 3) Show Strong Ties to Home country I.e things that can compel u to come back to Nigeria after your Studies e.g Your Parents, Wife/Husband & Kids (If Married), Landed Properties, Job, Position etc. BTW, Take your time and go through the contents in the links below for Enlightenment about Canada Study Visa CANADA STUDY VISA APPLICATION FULL GUIDE (D-I-Y) & other Useful Information pertaining to Canada Study Visa https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/341#94059644 SOP Step-by-Step Guidelines https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part#88892909 DETAILED LIST OF DOCUMENTS FOR STUDY VISA AND THEIR APPROPRIATE CATEGORIES FOR UPLOAD https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/274#93325073 Common Refusal Reasons and How to Tackle Them https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/28#89356538 Anything you ain't clear of, do ask & members in house gonna respond Good Luck!! 10 Likes 4 Shares |

From experience gathered here I'll advice you use both...let your new company give u study leave letter so you can attach to your application thatyoure coming back to continue once you finish studying. And your business will continue in your absence.. you can just issue letter to a close relative to continue in your absence. Rootiab: |
