Op what exactly do you want? - You want your engine replaced and in good condition - You want a refund for your engine - You want a refund for the full value on the invoice? I believe first two options are possible but not the third, which I suspect is what you really wanted. A mechanic gave you a warranty on an engine he didn't manufacture or bought from the scrap car for three months, based solely on his professional experience and you call him a scammer. He even offered a refund after the three months and others joined to call him a scammer. When you noticed he installed a borale engine, you should have been his first client the next day demanding a replacement. Turn these table around, would you give yourself these options 22 Likes 2 Shares |

Most here do not get the point or are willfully ignoring it. New Customer trusted the mechanic to get him a good tokunbo engine due to his ratings (if we should use the engine shipped to Jos as an example, that particular buyer had implicit faith the mechanic would send him a good engine ) and got something else. I don't know about you but if I buy a defective product from a store as a new customer, whether they accept it back or not, I'll be wary in the future. That's issue no 1. TRUST 2 Is the communication breakdown between the two parties, The buyer mentioned the attitude of the mechanic before going through the deal. Put yourself in his shoes, Would any of you go back to someone that insulted you, on top of your own money? Not insinuating on the part of the mechanic, never met him. Neither do I know how the customer approached the mechanic also. It might be a case of "because of my money" and "for my own garage" clash It is obvious they both have sizable EGOS and PRIDE, finding the middle point is solution here unfortunately this thread is full of those who willfully choose to blindly take sides and 5th Columnists. Kudos to werepey & the first reasonable poster Screenshots would have been a lot of help. What I can say is Op, what do you want now? Your engine changed? A Refund? State it clearly so the mechanic can also state if he would or not. You're men not petty women. Put feelings aside and settle the business, send/go with a mediator if what you said about the attitude is true so communications won't break down again. 18 Likes |
