Rivers State Government has approved a contract for the construction of a sixth flyover bridge of 593 metres to ease traffic congestion in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

The new flyover, which will be located at the Kaduna Street Junction of the Aba Road Express Road, is expected to change the aesthetics of Port Harcourt and boost economic activities of the state.

The state Commissioner for Works, Eloka Tasie-Amadi, who disclosed this in Port Harcourt, said the approval was given during the State Executive Council meeting in Port Harcourt on Friday.

“The Rivers State Executive Council presided over by His Excellency, the Governor of Rivers State (Nyesom Wike), has approved a contract for the construction of a flyover at the Kaduna Street junction of Aba Road in Port Harcourt and also approved the award of the contract to Messer Julius Berger.

“The construction will involve a bridge of 593 metres and service lanes of about 770 metres. The reason behind this is that you will observe that the bridge (at Kaduna Street Junction) is a two-lane bridge. And we are going to make it a four-lane bridge, dual carriage,”

He is just busy constructing overhead bridges with billions on a road that is not up to 5km from govt house to eleme junction.
What is a bridge doing at GRA junction. What is the reason for the expansion at rumuola and now kaduna junction. What is that thing he built at garrison junction he called a flyover. Look at the straight bridge he built at rumuokoro... in this time of scientific break thru wike is still stuck in the past building straight long bridges where he could have built interchange like what amaechi did at Obirikwere about 12yrs ago, what diete spiff did at mile1 about 30yrs ago and what amaechi and omehia did at eleme junction 14yrs ago.
Since he came his concentration is on aba road , Old and new GRA and other areas within the portharcourt metropolis whereas, east west road by tank is impassable, east west road by obi wali is totally bad, you can't even go to Onne and you don't spend 2 hrs on the road. Igbo etche and many other areas are begging for common grading of their roads but he will instead intimidate them.
If you not here in phc you won't know what we are suffering because wike wants to build all the over head bridges in 1yr

White elephants projects are not used. The Remis flyover that has been commissioned is already in use . Using that road gives us great joy. . They are strategically located to ease traffic. The governor made mention of the 7th one on Friday. My only problem is that everything is situated in PH

The traffic congestion at Ada-george by Pepperoni and location is increasingly becoming unbearable. Yet no traffic light there and no plans for a flyover. Only Aba Road has 8 flyovers why Ada George is as wide as that road and even more promising but Wike is focused on one stretch. Can't he do a flyover in Omoku town must everything be in PH. Go to Delta they have towns competing with Asaba same with Anambra, Edo, and even Akwa Ibom. In Rivers once you delete PH, no one has any business in the state again.
