Eilenora: Issues of intent when you have gotten your visa? I don't think do. Moreover, you can't get a two way ticket with a validity more than one year (what is you're running a program 2/3 years program)? 2 Likes 1 Share |

@lekiboboe @justwise @justmellow @chocs Is there a thread of students in Canada? I know there’s a thread called “Living in Canada” but it seems best suited for PR... Thanks 3 Likes |

@Justmellow, @Frankrobbn1 Thank you so much for your selfless service and your great answers. Please I need further advice: 1.Based on the note sent to me, any further action on my application would be put on hold till 17th of December which is almost one month time after which it will be assumed I want normal processing. Considering the fact that I am supposed to resume in Jan 2021,: 1. Should I request for a deferment from my school till September 2021 so as not to jeopardize my approval chance because of the high proximity of resumption time or is there anything else I can do? 2.If number 1 above is the right route,( i.e deferment) how do I communicate my intention to the visa office? Most tickets expire in 1 year, so it might be pointless. Except you have plans of using it. All the people I know used a one way ticket and had no problem. Eilenora: |

My course is a 2yr course. I was scared cos a reputable immigration consultant told me that she personally knows 2 people who were turned back at POE for having a 1 way ticket. Her words: [20:02, 22/11/2020] .......: I usually don't advise this oo honestly [20:03, 22/11/2020] .......: I know 2 people who have been turned back at the point of entry for this reason Chocs: |

Hi Guys, I have a quick question. When re-applying for a study permit after an initial refusal does one need to attach all previously included documents or mostly new documents to address the reasons for the refusal. Sizes of the attachment can add up really fast and it would be good to know if things like employment letter, payslips, etc which were sent earlier can be left out during the new application. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 11:05pm On Nov 22, 2020 |
This would make sense if it were a visit visa, not for a study permit. Eilenora: |

Not for a study Permit . One way ticket is what you need. You will be fine Eilenora: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Please house, I submitted my application on the 6th of November for winter 2021, first time applicant to Canada and up till now I have not received biometrics collection letter. Has anyone experience this situation before. My profile keep reading we do not need your fingerprints, we will send you a message if this changes. I have sent webform and email to both Lagos and Nairobi office but nothing has changed. By the way, I submitted for my wife as accompanying spouse together with mine on the 6th and my wife biometrics collection letter came on the 9th of November, she did it that same date and it reflected immediately in her account as completed but mine is still saying we do not need your fingerprints ... What could be the reason for this. Thank you |

Hello Goodmorning everyone. I'm new here but I have a question please. I have already applied for a PhD at the University of Manitoba. My question is this, with a full funded PhD with teaching assistantship position. Will I still need to show proof of funds to cover the tuition and living expenses? to apply for the student visa ? thanks |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Nobody: 1:09am On Nov 23, 2020 |
davo99: Thank you, since you have done yours it will reflect, it is just a matter of time. I just wonder why mine has not dropped |

Thanks a lot, I will do that then. I don't know how to direct the webform to a particular country (e.g. Kenya, like people say they did) though. Please anyone with a link on how to? Time2soar: |

Lekiboboe: Hi, I graduated from Uni 2017, did my NYSC 2018..graduated with 2:2 Bsc Physics, and I’m opting to go for computer science technology or any IT related course PGD. I would love to know if this is seen as a related course and won’t raise any red flag..thank you! |

If the funding package is adequate to take care of tuition and living costs for one year, no you do not need to show extra POF. However, from experience you may want to include a ibank statement just for formality regardless of the bank balance. Also, if you are a family man and even when you are traveling alone without family, you will be expected to show a plan/funding (stated clearly in your SOP) to take care of them while you are away. So showing a POF do not necessarily mean for your study alone but also to cover your responsibilities too. afomon12: |

Johndoe123: If you have at least 3 years work experience use PR. But I don't think you do since you just graduated 2 years. You can try the study route. Also try to stimulate your EE points. If it's above 475, then you're good to go. |
