King44:I beg to differ. Gbaja did not employ the dss official. The shooter was assigned to his office by the dss. Trained and paid by the dss. For all you know Gbaja does not even know the fellow. The truth of the matter is that this case is a no brainer. Gbaja did the right thing morally by visiting and commensurating with the family and offering assistance with burial and upkeep. The dss bears full responsibility. That SAN is just making noise and certainly knows better. 9 Likes |

They can't afford the service rather Ozekhome presented himself and at the end of the day they work on percentage sharing. He might be taking as much as 30% to 40% as legal fees. Alxmyr: 1 Like |

Next time, security aids would have some sense, you should only pull the trigger when the life of your boss is in a serious attack.... and it’s okay for them to demand any amount for compensation too, no amount is worth a human’s life cos it even possible the deceased makes more than that amount at any point in his life.... |

Amarisco: I understand your position, not petitioning the person means for me, that you believe this individual knows what to do and will eventually do the right. but you and I know that if you let the matter slide, GBA will play to public sympathy, while doing nothing for the family. secondly, on money. how else do you suggest they be compensated?? money is not all, but it's the only option (emphasis on only). The man is a breadwinner for people, so those people have to be taken care of. |

ThierryJay: You are right on. I am not a lawyer but I think a competent lawyer would have done things behind the scene instead of advertising it in the open. The fact that your child was just killed in the hand of people that suppose to protect him bring you goodwill but when the first thing was to be asking for money you loose goodwill. Courtesy and good manner require Femi Gbaja.. to pay visit and empathized with the family but no law require him to do anything. They have shut down anything the speaker could have done out of the generosity of his heart and turn it into an adversarial relationship when they engaged a PDP lawyer to demand money from him. If they had work behind the scene with independent or APC lawyer they would have had Gbaja in their corner demanding higher compensation for them from the federal government who is the actual employer of the culprit. As for those saying #500M is too much, there is no amount of money that can buy human life. The man was a newspaper vendor today he could become a LG chairman tomorrow or be the father of Nigeria future president or the grand father to America future president. 5 Likes |

Lawyers playing their usual senseless old tricks.... Gbajabiamila should just absolve himself of any complicity as regards this case and allow the deceased's family and their greedy lawyers to continue their case with the trigger happy security detail and probably cash out their proposed #500m from the defendant. The law is very clear..... Only the person that committed a crime will be brought to book and it is obvious his action was not on his principal's order and devoid of any culpability. If the family continue with this shameless approach... They will lose the case and whatever benefits that was promised on the ground of being magnanimous. 6 Likes |

5b should have been more like it.. This is human life we talking here.. if he willingly sold his kidneys for 80million,heart 130milliin, liver 70m, etc he would easily have realised over 1b. but he didt,he chose to be alive for his family. his life is worth well over 5b,but that sum will go a long way to ameliorate the pain 2 Likes |

complexBoss12:Some of these people here thinks they are intelligent but very ignorant. He should go to the US and see how much the state has paid to families of police brutality and unjust killings. Families some times get as much as 250k usd for settlement. So he prefers the family of the man sit back and do nothing and maybe swallow empty promises that may not even be fulfilled in the long run. Oga speaker should pay up abeg 1 Like |
