The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appealed to residents not to allow external forces destroy the wellbeing and security of the state.

He spoke on Tuesday during a stakeholders’ engagement, tagged, ‘Internal Security and Conflict Resolution in Lagos State.’

The meeting, which held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, was also attended by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola; Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi; human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, among others.

Sanwo-Olu said the coordinated arson and destruction that trailed the #EdSARS protest was a wake-up call to all citizens and security organisations to be vigilant and move against actions that could affect the wellbeing and security of Nigeria.

He pleaded with residents to allow the seed of peace being sown to germinate, while also stressing the need to re-establish communication links between the government and the people.

He said, “We have to reignite the communication link between government and the people so that fifth columnists or conspiracy theorists will not be able to infiltrate and spread disinformation and misinformation that would jeopardise the future of our country or the opportunities available for our youths to contribute to the greatness of our country.”

The forum later moved into an executive session where discussions were held on ways out of the current situation.

The participants, in the 15-point communique issued after the meeting, called on the Federal Government to treat Lagos security as a national issue.

The group also called for increased intelligence gatherings by security agencies by working with neighbourhood security apparatus.

They urged job creation for the youth, including reintroduction of value-driven programmes, such as Boys Scout, Girls Guild, “in our schools to meaningfully engage young people.”

Real Lagosians should resist Yoruba coordinated attacks against Lagos.

I don't understand how people who claim Lagos is Yoruba land will launch such devastating attack against the state.

We are watching.

Soon yorubas will be send parking to their Oodua land.

A joke because he makes a pronouncement on one of the cardinal objectives of his mandate and constitutional responsibility?

Shoo! What exactly is wrong with a governor making such a statement?

I don't understand your misgiving honestly. Except of course you're an external force trying to destroy Lagos.

At least Sanwo-Olu is not as clueless as the daft woman governor of Enugu and that clueless boy Ikpeazu that have turned Abia to the portrait of decay.

I will report you to Wike the wicked, he will deal with you and all his boys that call themselves governors in the SE.

By the way, where is that murderer Peter Obi? When is he going to be invited to the SARS panel the Anambra government set up to account for his crime against humanity?

I swear to God you are the most worst thing to happened to lagosians. I left this country last year before the transition was done. Ambode leaved Lagos in a good condition.

During Ambode Lagos was very clean and there is law and people maintain order.

I never thought that Lagos can be so dirty again. Everywhere is smelling .

After sending hoodlums into the street to loot other peoples wares and then lifting the curfew abruptly against security warnings, allowing them Awawa boys and one million boys to run away with their maximum loot, you're now yapping about "foreigners destroying you"!? Who is destroying who here?

Tribal undertone..! Yorubas are the most easily manipulated tribe in Nigeria, hence the audacity to lie, and lie, keep lying just to use their tribal target as the scapegoat..

-Who ordered the military men to the unarmed protesters? No questioning.
-Who ordered the shooting? No questioning.
-Who ordered and armed the thugs to disrupt the peaceful protests at first? No questioning.
-Who ordered the release of the LASG BRT to convey the thugs? No questioning.
-Who ordered the removal of the light and sound detecting devices at toll gate? No questioning.

Sanwolu need to stop pretending and undermining his executive power.

Prior to oct 10th, state-sponsored hoodlums and looters were transported to alausa to attack protesters.

Oluomo was accused of sending the hoodlums and he got on air and denied it.

Has Lagos State Govt thought for one minute that it is security risk when unauthorised and armed persons have access and use of its buses?

Has anyone in govt investigated how the armed people got the bus? Or was it part of the hoodluming?

If sanwolu will not investigate that and go after armed state sponsored thugs then it should point fingers at himself for causing destruction of his state.

The hoodlums they paid and transported to alausa were the same hoodlums that hit streets and looted shops and caused destruction.

Lagos state and sanwoolu owe vitizens explanation on why they used tax payers money to contract armed criminals against state interests.

A bloody cow herder. A freak.

Sanwolu coordinated armed hoodlums in state owned bus to go attack citizens but it backfired, they looted warehouses and police stations instead. They destroyed his godfather investments built with state money and he is crying about nationalizing his incompetence. Instead of you to go there with handkerchief to wipe his tears you are talking ipob. God go use another protest, a #EndNigeria protest to scatter all of una. Bloody terrorist

I am in Lagos, Lagos is never a Yoruba land.

During the confab, the real owners of Lagos refused to be lumped together with yorubas.

Finally, name one city in the whole Yoruba land excluding state capitals that is better and more developed than Aba (the whole city in SE in terms of roads)

Name one of your state capitals that is more developed than Enugu.

Name one of your village that is more developed than Abiriba.

Name any of your market that is more developed, bigger and richer than Onitsha market.

Name any of your cities that have more billionaires per capita than Nnewi.
