Guys please advise me on what to do. It's a matter of urgency. Two weeks ago i misplaced my redmi 8 to those one chance danfo bus drivers/conductors that i boarded to work and i was so pained due to my files in the phone. I had no option than to get another phone (redmi 9) the following week. Though I've not been feeling my new phone like i used to do with the old one. After getting my new phone, first thing to do was to use the redmi 9 to search for my old missing phone (redmi cool which i didn't see. But i still went ahead to lock it and i left some notes for whoever is with the phone including my new number to call Fast forward to today, an hausa boy called me saying that he bought my redmi 8 from someone at Alaba market for a sum of 35k and ever since then, he has not been able to use the phone as the only thing that comes up on the screen is the message i used to lock the phone. He said even flashing doesn't work. He said he want to return it to the person he bought it from despite the fact that he can't still recognize the seller face. I asked of the seller shop, he said the seller doesn't have a shop. That he bought it from those guys standing.

I've promised to give him 15k for the phone, He's insisting 25k. And I'm not financially bouyant at the moment. Please what can i do to get my phone back. My files are over important to me. Please advise me.

P.S: I've searched for the phone and it's showing me some distance away from where it was stolen (Abule Egba). And the boy told me that the phone is with him in Sabo...Abeokuta (While the phone was stolen in lagos and he bought it in lagos also). I don't know the one to follow if it's the location I'm seeing on my redmi 9 screen or where the buyer says he is. Please suggest a better way to go about it for me. I need it very bad.

Thank you in advance

There was a time in the east here, when those hoodlums steal your phone, they will start calling you or trace you just for you to unlock your phone. Now, be careful how you go about this, to me I'll advise you to go ahead to get back your phone, but isn't your files gone since the hausa guy said that even flashing dosen't work? Like someone said up there for an extra security, involve the police.

It is better u give police 10k to get the phone for u than pay 15/25k to a criminal who might likely take advantage or harm u in the process of retrieving it alone.

Creating a Mi Account should be one of the first things you do when you get a Xiaomi phone it cannot be overemphasized.

Sorry for your loss. The only thing is to track it with police it will cost you and it takes time.
Thanks for your reply. I was able to log into my Xiaomi mi account. But I didn't see where I can track my missing phone. Can you assist please

You can simply lock the phone. That is if the device is bound to the account. i.mi.com then check devices

I use the Note 9s and charge from 5-100% in 1:50 with the phone turned off. Check your average temps. Hopefully you're not charging it placed on a mattress causing your device to heat up and in turn slow down charging. Currently the ambient temps where I live is sub 28° in the evenings when I usually charge.

Also, the average quick charge current is 2.5A when it's sub 80%.

Point to note from my time with the device, when your battery temps hit 38° you'll be restricted to charging at .5A. Reduce heavy usage while charging not to hasten battery wear. Always try and keep battery temps within 30°, well since it's Nigeria, 35°. Battery temps around 40° will see your battery wear out about 20% more.

PS: I don't use a case on my device. Maybe it could be a factor, dunno.
How far na buddy?

Good morning house. Mbok wch phone is better than the one I'm currently using?
I am using a mi9t
Just want to compare and know which is better
Camera
Memory
Those are my two key features that I am looking out for

K30 ultra - 180k minimum(great battery, nice camera, wide range of memory options, 120Hz refresh rate and the infamous MTK flagship D1000+ capable of handle anything you give it)

Poco F2 pro - 200k minimum - same as above but 60Hz and the powerful SD865 chip inside)

Mi 10t/10t pro - minimum 180k(base version of the mi 10t 6/128) - 5000mah, 144Hz refresh rate, SD865, 64/108MP camera etc only drawback.people think it has is the LCD panel which honestly is quite good with color accuracy. AMOLED remains best but you are sure getting value with this LCD which makes AdaptiveSync possible. There are some effects of using LCD like no indisplay fingerprint scanner, no AOD. Still offers great value

Mi 10 - 210k minimum - All check here

I'd have recommend mi 10 ultra but that's a flagship device starting at 370-400k in NG after import duties.

Since you're not a gamer or maybe an heavy user, K30 ultra is perfect for you, or Poco f2 pro is another option since you already used to full screen no notch displays, it'd be easier to transition.. else mi 10 would be nice

Macbeyland has Poco F2 pro and K30 ultra I think on hand already in Nigeria. I don't know for the mi 10 tho

Sometimes to pick a call na war or nowhere to pick the call and if a call is waiting while on a call it will hang as soon as the ongoing call ends.
