You know despite some of there economic shortcomings I really enjoy the Neo-Sahelian architectural themes of many of the West African Sahelian nations. Its so unique to the region and cultural stands out. Not just some bland generic glass buildings. I actually wish more African nations would take at least a little inspiration from these designs but on a much larger/taller scale instead of being so run of the mill trying to mimic North America and China. Just food for thought not to be taken to seriously. Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso etc......

Roan77:I will rather have 90% of my people not struggle with basic water supply where they can be assured of quality treated water supply than for them to have to rely on untreated contaminated borehole water as in the case of Nigeria. Again like your fellow said, Nigerians dont deserve treated water pumped to their houses and electricity Dumb kids 2 Likes |

theenchanter:I believe you can read right? The BVN implementation project is a West African Monetary Zone project and not just a Nigerian thing, it required all central Banks in the region to implement the erger system as we moved forward with the monetary union integration As identity theft and fraudulent transactions gain ground in the global banking system, the West African Monetary Institute (WAMI) is collaborating with all central banks within the West African Monetary Zone (WAMZ) to launch a Bank Verification Number (BVN) project. According to the WAMI, the move is expected to ensure that individuals involved in banking transactions have one unique number that they will use in all transactions irrespective of the bank they deal with. Sources close to the WAMI revealed that the mandate requires that central banks within the West African Monetary Zone, including the Bank of Ghana (BOG), implement the BVN system which works by recording fingerprints and facial photograph of the client. |

theenchanter: I always provide facts https://iwaponline.com/washdev/article/8/2/127/39045/Beyond-the-MDG-water-target-to-universal-water The combined effect of population and economic growth would spur on increased demand for water, thereby making drinking water supply crucial. According to figures provided by the UNICEF/WHO Joint Monitoring Programme (JMP), Ghana's Millennium Development Goal (MDG) target for potable water supply was achieved in 2008, with 82% of the population having access to improved drinking water sources as against a 2015 target of 77% (WHO/UNICEF 2015). Currently, access to improved drinking water is estimated at 89%; 93% urban coverage and 84% rural coverage (WHO/UNICEF 2015). Undoubtedly, if current efforts are sustained, Ghana will achieve universal access to potable water by the year 2030 as required by Target 6.1 of the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6. I believe you know where Nigeria is 2 Likes |
