Why statement made by British MP about Yakubu Gowon Central Bank theft maybe true based on the following: 1) Yakubu Gowon was Head of State from 1966-1975(9 years). It took Abacha 5 years to loot $5 billion dollars and IBB that ruled from 1985-1993-$12 billion dollars reportedly from the Gulf Oil Windfall Scandal. 2) Gowon was credited in the 70's saying Nigeria's problem was not money, but how to spend it.Yet he could not provide 24 hour electricity, world class roads, portable water, world class transport system. This was when Nigeria's population was 50 million people. 3)There was massive corruption under Gowon like we witnessed under Shagari,OBJ,IBB,Abacha,GEJ and the current Buhari regime. 4) Nigeria leaders always deny theft even if they are caught on video like Ganduje. They will always have people like Buhari to defend their theft. 5) England through their intelligence know the amount of money that is laundered in Nigeria annually. Every money that moves through the international banking system has an origin, no matter how many countries you move it through to launder it. 6) According to The Economist $600 billion dollars has been stolen from Nigeria since independence. 1 Like

Gowon and many of our leaders are just demon containers. They are what baskets are to tomatoes, to stealing demons. Demons need vessel and they are vessels swept clean but unoccupied, so have been taken over by demons. 1 Like |

RuudVanNisteroy:Then evidence is required to prove Gowon's personal involvement in the looting of those funds. The UK MP made a verbal allegation just like Trump did in the recently concluded US elections, you can't expect us to take the MP's word just like that |

Balyz:We have no reason not to doubt it, Nigeria is poverty and corruption capital of the world. There was massive corruption under Gowon, like in the current regime. |
