In my polite way, I feel you should have already done a thorough survey on the University and the major course of study at the University before applying for a PhD study...your question should be directed to the cost of living, access to fund or grant, lifestyle of foreign PhD students in Turkey, etc...Is good we're guided the way we present or ask questions as a prospective PhD applicants. Thanks! mustyy: 5 Likes 1 Share |

Morning Prof wip7. I met with of my lecturers and they are interested in the earlier mentioned collaboration. Is it feasible to generate data (after sample collection) during research for you to fine-tune for publication? We are working on environmental proteomics. Regards, 2 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Thread For PHD Students by wip7: 8:59am On Nov 23, 2020 |
DanIduh06: Hello, Real Collaboration is not about generating data for me to fine-tune. I don’t know source of data, who is collecting and how is collected and for what specific purpose etc. Scientific collaboration to me means: the problem, the possible solutions, hypothesis, Methodology, source of data collection, data collection devices all be discussed as intellectuals. During the discussion the collaborators will be able to identify their key strength and signify sections to significantly contribute while all collaborators monitors the project progress and comments stagewise. That way people will learn missing skills or develop their inherent skills which will spark further cooperation and individual growth. I am not collaborating because I need a paper to be published with some people but am initiating a collaboration for the collaborators to learn from my wealth of experience and for me to learn from theirs. I hope this expantiante my earlier post. Please explain to your lecturers, if this fits there academic style, you can send me collaborators full details to get aclimitize to their current research. I have not given up hope on becoming a lecturer. I hold a Masters degree in English Language and Literature as well as a Bachelors degree in the same discipline. I graduated as Best Graduating Student, applied for GA at my Alma mater but it was an effort in futility. Hard to believe but I have documents to back up my claim. I proceeded with Masters, published a book and wrote some articles in journals and festschrifts. To build experience, I focused on expanding my teaching career. I am sincerely and really interested in lecturing at the university level. Anyone who can help should kindly do so. I have been applying to various universities but the Nigerian university system prefers connection to merit/ contribution to knowledge. Thank you. lugonmaeze@gmail.com 1 Like |

If you have excellent CGPA in undergraduate and MSc with journals. Seek PhD abroad that comes with funding in countries like Canada, US or Europe. You will be glad that you never took a lecturing job in Nigeria. I wish you all the best. ccffwx: 4 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Thread For PHD Students by DanIduh06: 6:05am On Nov 24, 2020 |
wip7: Thank you Prof. I do want to learn. But as an intending academic one of objectives is to publish in top journals. Though I was trying to say if we could use Nigeria as a case study ( after proper research design), since you are not based in Nigeria. I spoke for myself. Some of the intending collaborators are professors already. Thanks. 2 Likes 1 Share |

taiwo92: Thank you. And I like your field, I like the idea where the educated and practically oriented young minds join to bring success. Let me tell you some of what am doing in terms of Scientific start-ups and that may interest you and others. I have read via the media how BB Naija shows were watched with so much dedication, some even praying and organized religious and political energy towards it...which is fine. But I have not seen how similar efforts have been directed towards academic or Scientific start-ups in Nigeria. When am free, I will share with you my newly formed Scientific STart-up company in my university Technopark and what the company intends to produce and also brainstorm. Also, if you have investable Scientific start-up ideas that also fit my focus, I am able to finance up to 20 million nairas at a go. Best wishes! 3 Likes 1 Share |

Donemmy: We have tested the sensors with contaminated and spike peanut and milk samples; detection concentrations ranged 0.1–10 nM AFB1 and the limit of detection achieved was 0.40 ± 0.02 nM. So your sample needs to be prepared in solution and AFB extracted for detection. 3 Likes 1 Share |
