An accident victim, Otunba Samuel Aiyeku, who boarded God Is Good Motors (GIGM) has decried neglect by the management of the transportation company.

Aiyeku with ticket No: H1633714 and seat number one was enroute Benin, Edo State from GIGM Utako, Abuja terminal when the accident occurred at about 9:20 am on May 8, 2018. He had since then been bedridden to date and receiving treatment.

When contacted, the legal director of GIGM, Paul Osuigwe, said that the company had paid N2.5 million to his account, but Aiyeku insisted that the management of GIGM should reimburse all his medical bills and pay for his surgery.

Speaking exclusively with LEADERSHIP Weekend, Aiyeku who is due for a hip replacement surgery in January said he has incurred several costs for his treatment, calling on GIGM to pay all incurred costs for his treatment.

Explaining how the accident occurred, he said “Just after Gwagwalada, all the passengers noticed the driver’s consistent high speed and kept cautioning the driver but he refused to adhere to their appeal.’’

Speaking further, he said that while the driver was trying to swerve to get out of potholes he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree where he sustained multiple fractures while two other passengers died.

Aiyeku said, “The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) made efforts for GIGM to take it up as a corporate social responsibility but they failed to turn up. No letter or notification of regret has been brought to me or my representative.”

I can bet the speed was about 160 170kph for the dashboard tl bend,windshield missing,top bent,frame damaged.na mad speed god is good motors drivers always tearing speed at any given chance like say na hummer h3 dem dey ride , secondly they will be tinting windows dark thick 100% all round,not like the bus has navigation or reverse cam. Fools. No be even off road tyre. Sorry mr man,i know how it feels to be in front seat and suddenly una dey face tree. Why u no open door jump ,last last u for bruise your hand. Man its crazy and scary to think of,imagine the bastard driver had the useless nerve to position driver side to face tree,fucking coward. So in case there was no passenger infront seat nko . Whoever seats at the front seat dont be there and be forming guy,be forming boss,be checking if any useless gal is looking at you,dont put your eyes on the road and caution the driver if
he exceeds 100kph on a mad potholed infested road. Na u know. Whenever i seat with driver,he gives me his phone and my eyes dey road,no sleeping. No loose guard,if u wan do anyhow ,i go talk say i wan piss,purge dey hold me. U go slow down by force,then we begin fight when i come down. U wan kill me abi. na those kind passengers wey dey form like bus owners when they sit in front....you're even lucky they paid you 2.5m, cos normal na joint insurance of 50k those buses dey do. you dey front seat and driver dey speed, you no fit slap am or pour am water

My sympathies to the victim and his ordeal.

However, not that I'm playing advocate for GIGM, but they paid 2.5m. That's not small money. Truth is, it's actually the responsibility of the insurance company.
