longlife20: That's with the assumption that the value don't dip below N2. From experience market can adjust the price to N1. Share Reconstruction don't always favour shareholders. |

OBAGADAFFI: My main worry with them is that they either pay paltry dividend or don't even pay at all most year end and they have almost 12.7bn in reserve according to that document released. I may enter again Sha if price become favorable |

Mcy56: Are you saying the price will be N12? no, i only use the nominal value of the share to arrived at that price. Market will always determine the price of a share. The only good thing about the reconstruction is that the share is now fewer than what it use to be which will have a positive impact on the EPS with16.66%. if Q3 Eps is 50kobo, after reconstruction it will 58kobo. 1 Like |

meine:On November 11th I posted the above and few days after that post the market went down. MCY56 came out to reprimand me for advising people to trade with caution, even though I never mentioned her in my post. But I ignored. When the market is on a bullish run all of us can claim to be experts but it's always sure that at some point water will find its level. Nothing beats what I call Commonsense investing by using the EPS ,the Dividend yield and stock Liquidity as your basic insurance against an unexpected downturn in the market contrary to what some have been saying here. When you start valuing Nigerian stocks using standards that are beyond these Commonsense metrics you are already playing Russian roulette. This is not NYSE, this is Nigeria home of possibilities and shocks. For those who bought high during the bull convert those investment to long term assets, it's a cycle the market will go up at some point. If you bought dividend paying stocks that's better. 13 Likes |

Your post came to mind when the market started crashing, haven been in the market for over 12 years, I knew you were making sense. Well, I bought stuff that I can confidently leave for a long time or for dividend yeild. My question now is, do you see further price reduction in the NSE? meine: |

fidtopade:I always pay attention to preexisting economic environment to have an idea of the direction of the market. Though movement in individual stocks can always happen whether during the Bull or Bear season. Positive Factors in the Market 1. Low interest rate in fixed income securities: this should have kept the market on a longer bullish run but it seems this factor has already been priced in. 2. Rise in the price of Crude Oil: The rise has been marginal with no immediate positive impact on the local economy. Negative Factors in the Market 1. Consistent Devaluation of the Naira and the FPI: When you keep devaluing your currency foreign investors will prefer to wait till normalcy is restored. Feel free to add yours. Based on these few points there is more probability of the market staying stagnant or declining, than having a meteoric rise in the next few weeks. 2 Likes |

$1 today is N510 in black market. By the time original or fake Buhari leaves office, my projection is N650-N700 for 1 $$$$. This is not about wishing the country bad but that’s the reality on ground. Prepare yourself for what’s ahead... Foreign investors can’t invest in an environment where there’s flip flopping economic policy and double standard exchange rate. Goodluck to all |

locodemy: Oil facilities owned by Shell/Agip were attacked on Wednesday by unidentified people in a sign that militant activities may have resumed again in the oil-rich Niger Delta region of Nigeria. Several explosions were heard in the facilities located at the Ikarama community in Yenagoa Bayelsa forcing Shell to shut down the facility. Nigeria faces a precarious economic crunch that cannot afford to be worsened by militant on oil facilities. According to media reports tracked by Nairametrics, a spokesperson from Shell, Michael Adande, confirmed the explosions admitting that the facility was shut down to minimize the impact. https://nairametrics.com/2020/11/26/shell-agip-oil-fields-explosion-how-the-community-battles-air-pollution/ LOCO you are no longer in touch with REALITY better go and beg your VILLAGE PEOPLE 3 Likes

meine:You are so right Sir. From the moment I started relying on these factors you mentioned I have always made profits from NSE. Thanks for putting it so succinctly. I need only add that one should also know that the market is cyclical so there is need to enter low, even if you have to wait months before buying. 4 Likes |

PETERiCHY: It is a very saddened situations at the moment. Naira is rapidly losing its value and inflation is skyrocketing like never before. My heart just goes out to people whose salaries were stagnant and the less privileged citizens. They are the most victims of this situations...May God help |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 12:26pm On Nov 30, 2020 |
PETERiCHY: Peterichy, the resultant effects of all these factors you people are mentioning up and down is inflation. One of the ways to beat inflation is investing in stocks. With the current interest rates, everyone will be forced to invest their money in stocks. Will you carry the money at hand and spend it on high prices of commodities? By now,we should have seen oso Abiola 10 10% fall everyday but it doesnt. The market still have good strength. The bad news up and down is only hitting it but minor injury. Neutral is all I can see as the worst. 2 Likes |

Using the closing price of N2.34 on Friday. The current o/s of Axa mansard is 10,500,000,000. A bonus of 17 for 7 will create new shares of 25,500,000,000 making the total shares to be 36b. A reduction of shares of 4 for 1 will reduce it to 9b. The nominal value of the shares will now be N2 instead of the common 50kobo that is prevalent in the market. There are other stocks whose nominal value is not 50k, i.e MTN. The market value of the stock at 10.5b will be = 10.5 x 2.34 = N24.57b, the market value of the stock at 36b will equally be N24.57b and when it is reduced to 9b it must also be N24.57b. At 36b, the market price will be 0.6825 and at 9b, it will be N2.73. longlife20: 1 Like 1 Share |

sellydion: You can only be sure of now not tomorrow. Fbn may or may not be in existence. Your timeframe is too long in this volatile market. Make it only one season and subject to review after the season if at all you wanna go long term Best advice bro 1 Like |
