But u know u are lieing...

Kings wealth in Igbo means eze akunuba

King of kings means eze ndi eze

So how did u guys come up with the word obaze...

Oba doesn't mean anything in ur language...

Tell me what it means

How am I lying?

Wonderful. What I gave you is the literally the meaning of the surname. It is answered so we'll in Anambra state.

In Igboland...Oba means someone wealthy, or someone of great wealth.

There are people answering name EzeOba in Igboland, is it also Bini?

You don't just come and say a word doesn't have any meaning because if he doesn't there is no need for people to be answering that..

You think this is Bini and Yoruba argument.
For you to see king there...it is ascribed to the word Eze and not Oba.

learn to read and understand and also follow up your own argument.
Oba-Eze @ bolded is the context king was used.

Dude I have been educating her predecessors since 2011. With PhysicsQED who stopped coming on Nairaland many years ago. Manuscripts on Benin history were written in my presence as a kid. So nothing they can offer that I have not seen dissected before.

Our people are in Bayelsa. Yenagoa indigenes are Edo people. Degema and many Rivers people are Edo. The Amayanabor clearly said it when Oba Ewuare II Rivers. The video is here on Nairaland.

Edoid languages are 22. A 23rd one is still debated.
Igede people of Benue State are Edo people. They even left Benin fairly late, in 1515.

+ The present Benin palace was built much recently — hence it used to be a ragtag shrine. grin

Should one really expect much from a heartbroken Bini bald head ?? grin

Nope! Peddling lies is what Binis do best, and that is apparent from all of their posts — which unfortunately have all been debunked on this thread.

I’m super glad that everyone can now see through their falsehood and desperation.

In summary: The word “Oba” has its root in the Yoruba language as has been demonstrated from a Bini dictionary.

[s]No other Edoid people use the term for their monarchs, [b]despite the Binis expedition in their territory. [/s]

The reason is simple: Of all Edoid groups, only the Binis have dynastic succession from the Yorubas.

QED!

With all your pointless talks only shows you're without reasoning otherwise you will know so many Ẹdoid tribes have Ọba attached to some names

eg Esans bear the name Obaze, obano

The reigning king Oba Chukumela Nnam Obi II of Ogbaland has Oba attached to his name/title so what trash are you spilling undecided

The only reason you still have yoruba story peddlars trying to steal Benin history is because the average Nigerian IQ is so low ...

The problem most of you have is that you go about using Igbo translator centered on central Igbo.

You a Bini wants to argue with someone moving R. Niger and you are using a centrality instead of allowing the person to give you the literal meaning of word as used in the environment.

You are only agitated becomes you couldn't see anything to pin to correlate your wild claims.

But be it as it may. I gave you the meaning of the word rightly as it is used.

Lack of education and low IQ has made it such that a small irrelevant village called Ife is now being compared with Benin city, the capital of an empire...

At this point you are losing it by using such igbk dictionaries.

Let me give you an assignment go and research more about Anambra names infacts surnames same as delta area of Igbo and use your dictionary in comparing names you are digging up

You will realize that your dictionary can't give you anything.

You are making grave mistake in using such things to check names.

I would have given you a hint on peculiarity of names and how to arrive at such but since you have a set to target to try and lump it as maybe related to Bini then you are on a wild chase.

Discard that thing you are using, not near to the argument

Why should I be interested in what chukwu means in Bini?

It might mean anything there but as for me I know it means God in igbo...Chi-ukwu shortened as Chukwu...Olulo Udaume.

So Same can be seen in Obaze, EzeOba, Obanya et al.

For names to exist and I gave you the meaning of the words as it is closed the case.

That thing you are looking for is not here. It can only be found in Bini-Yoruba issues.

There is no historical friction here man. Everything is simple and straight.

Quote me when u see an Igbo translation that ascribes Oba to wealth

Till then, Obaze remains Benin until proven otherwise...

U don't have facts for ur claims ... U are just using emotions for ur argument.. at least I've shown u some Igbo translation that states that Oba means barn, Calabash, used to refer to the oba of Benin..
what have u shown me?..

Tears tears and more tears...

At first, u lied that obaze meant king of kings but when u were found out and proven wrong, u resorted to holding unto the wealth claim like a dying man

When u have any proof that Oba means wealth, I'll reply u.. till then,
