Cameroon Zinc is very good and affordable. If your structure is a bungalow and you are working with a tight budget, it is a considerable option.

Most people don't use it especially in storey buildings because cameroon Zinc guarantees just about 10 to 15 years, whereas Longspan, steptiles and metcoppo guarantees from 20 to 50 years.

I have always wondered why this type of build is not yet perfected in Nigeria with the high cost of cement and rod.

I think I have seen this concept here on nairaland years ago or maybe it was a different platform where I saw it..

When I asked I was given both mechanical and architectural reasons why it is not viable in Nigeria.. I have forgotten the exact verbiage but...

I have faith in my Nigerian brianiacs to perfect these system here, it looks beautiful in UK and Germany where I have seen it, those oyinbos don't have 2 heads.

Frankly, my only fear is I hope this doesn't fall into cracks by people cutting corners, overambitious or I too sabi wannabe pros and make a mess of this concept.. this is beautiful when done correctly but very dangerous when not done properly!

Inspire to "think different" living in containers in Africa? Is it because it's a concept that is cheaper than traditional brick and mortar per square meter or aesthetically more beautiful or offers a superior wholesome living and well-being?

Maybe he just buys and sells roofing materials, and then hires professional roofers for installation. I believe this is where we got him wrong.
