jln115: A good example is your Badger IFV programme, component manufacturers have refused to deliver components, the programme is completely halted as it is. Even the A-darter is another good example. Stop making grandiose claims about SA defence equipment like you fully manufacture the parts, and weapons system. SA is like Turkey, once the component manufacturers stop exporting the programme stops. 2 Likes |

kabe1:- what does the badger program have to do with my question? "component manufacturers have refused to deliver components, the programme is completely halted as it is." actually that is not the reason at all!!! well done on blatantly lying again! - What about the A-Darter is a good example? - We do fully manufacture parts of the weapons built in SA.........Denel is a OEM for the Rooivalk,Oryx, Rooikat, Ratel, Olifant,G6,G5, R4, Casspir, Mamba, meaning they manufacture all the parts to build and maintain those platforms ect ect - Give me an example of when a project has been halted because a manufacturer has stop exporting components 1 Like |

jln115: You keep repeating this nonsense. Denel is the OEM of the Rooivalk for instance but essentially everything worthy of note in that aircraft is imported. He informed one of Parliament’s two defence oversight committees the “(Hoefyster) programme has not shown any significant progress over the past year and the development initially contracted for completion in 2012 has not been completed”. Delays, according to the man who replaced Kevin Wakeford as chief executive of government’s defence and security acquisition agency, are “attributed to both technical and financial challenges in Denel, as well as suppliers not supplying sub-systems due to non-payment by Denel”. https://www.defenceweb.co.za/featured/still-no-clarity-on-hoefyster/ Stop living in your kuvukiland....... kabe1: Look where Turkey is now! They now produce some of the components they were importing months ago. You start from somewhere and before you know it you are breaking records. |
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Nobody: 10:47pm On Nov 30, 2020 |
kabe1:- All those "imported" parts are manufacture in SA as well.....hence why Denel is an OEM........Do you know what OEM stands for? - Who are those suppliers Let me give you a tip!! not one is a foreign company! |
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by kabe1: 10:48pm On Nov 30, 2020 |
jln115: Here Mbada reported development, qualification and certification by both the Brazilian and South African air forces was successful, but progress on the production contract by Denel is behind schedule. This was laid at the door of Denel’s liquidity challenges and non-delivery of sub-systems by sub-contractors “due to non-payment by Denel”. 1 Like |

jln115: You're literally and figuratively an embarrassment to yourself and South-Africa. OEM noun original equipment manufacturer, an organization that makes devices from component parts bought from other organizations. Like I have always stated, Denel is an OEM for the Rooivalk, but the components and subcomponents are all imported from abroad. 1 Like |

kabe1:This is the A Darter not the Badger also were does it state that its due to none delivery by foreign contractors?.......this is your argument isn't it? |

Whyem15: Where is Turkey now? They couldn't deliver the Helicopters Pakistan ordered because of sanctions. The Canadian and Austrian companies that make the TB2 engines and FLIR systems sanctioned them. |

jln115: When did South-Africa begin making Topowl HMDS? You can keep lying to yourself, doesn't change the fact that most of the parts used in making "South-African" military systems are imported. 1 Like |
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Nobody: 10:54pm On Nov 30, 2020 |
kabe1:Uhm No!! you did: "An Original Equipment Manufacturer or OEM is a company that manufactures and sells products or parts of a product that their buyer, another company, sells to its own customers while putting the products under its own branding." "What Is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)? An original equipment manufacturer (OEM) traditionally is defined as a company whose goods are used as components in the products of another company, which then sells the finished item to users." "An original equipment manufacturer (OEM) makes systems or components that are used in another company’s end product." |

Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by kabe1: 11:08pm On Nov 30, 2020 |
jln115: I have proven beyond doubt that most of the components and subcomponents used in making "South-African" military systems are imported. The head of your military procurement agency confirms this, your Badger IFV and A-Darter are stopped because of this. To continue to have this discussion with you is boring and monotonous. 2 Likes |

kabe1:proven beyond all doubt?? Are you fvcking high on something?? Almost every country in the world incl the US use some components and subcomponents from foreign suppliers, that doesn't mean their products are not local anymore. Denel is no different. Stop blatantly lying, neither the Badger or A Darter have been delayed due to foreign suppliers 1 Like |

kabe1: Again with the Turkish drones. Bayraktar has long since weaned itself from Canadian optics by adopting ones made from Aselsan long ago. The same western sanctions refusing to let Turkey buy US made drones led them down this very path to begin with, and where is Turkish aerospace today? Busy pioneering new technologies and and advancing Turkish military capabilities across the globe, while some people keep laughing that Turkey's defense industry is doomed You'd be hard pressed to find even a single advanced piece of weaponry even in NATO, that doesn't source for parts and hardware from foreign vendors. This is an extremely weak argument. 8 Likes 1 Share |
