If you need cement for your tiles work, please get in touch on how to get Supafix for your project.

It’s far cheaper and more reliable!

You can also request for demo.

I remember way back when we were discussing security regarding see-through fence and gate. That see-through fence and gate are offer more security. Egun was on the side of very tall fence and dead end gate. From what I'm seeing now e be like say Egun do cross carpet to see-through party.

See-through is not only beautiful but less claustrophobic and doesn't box the compound.

I just did my concrete parapet over a month ago courtesy of great tutorials from KolaShangOne, saydfact, seglad2 and Dennis3D. Same goes for muffutau55, Perfecttouchade, Maintain12, skimanski, twinskenny, Nobody, omanzo02 as I approached lintel and decking stage in 2019. Notwithstanding, none of these gentlemen got a job or token appreciation from me!
Even diordaves called out money121 twice to respond to my enquiries on parapet facia, for reasons known only to him, he didn't.
Let's bury this here and now.
Money121 is not a fan of writing or theories. He is a practical, operational and blunt person.
Based on facts on this thread, he has never cheated.
It is his prerogative to respond or not, but in the end, not only does what he knows best, but also gets it exceptionally done. Now, that we know, lets stop the name callings, please.
Give him jobs because he is good at roofing or because he is poor at responses and enlightenments. It's your choice.
We are all thieves. He who is without a sin, cast the first stone!
A little over a month ago after 8 years on nairaland, my job is handled by michlins whom I met here under a week, had a little altercation with, WITHOUT any recommendation or referral or enlightenment, a total stranger. But has taken so much pains to tutor me on almost every iron, steel and metal we come across.
Now, you can see why I love Mercedes while you might prefer Honda?

THANKS for the mention....

I've been involved (dishing out free consultation to NLers) that I've lost count.... I was almost asking you, when did I help out .. LOL grin grin grin

WELL SAID about Money121 too.... (we all can't be good writers or readers)

It is for tiles ONLY (indoor application and swimming pools).
It’ll work for external application but it is not recommended. You can only use C2 class for external tiles (high rise buildings).

Let me know the quantity you want. We can always work it out.

We asked and we were told the situation will normalize soon. I think demand for cement only went higher post-covid and it was a big surprise to the Channel Partners (CP)

Supafix will solve one part of the problem and it’s more economical.

The only issue is homeowners/developers need to demand more quality job from builders/engineers alike. Straight walls and flat slabs

MrOkenwa:

Yes Sir, I do ask for clarifications here and it's a privilege when I get those issues clarified by experts and homeowners, not my right. Of course, I'm aware of the reason why the thread was created in the first place and what it aimed to achieve.
How can one justify the unwarranted criticism and name-calling targeted at a young man and his business?
Is he the culprit in this discourse? No.
He is one of the most patronized here. Has he ever been accused of fraud or found inflating measurements by any of his clients? No. So why the dragging?
Yes, we expected much more from him when the issue was raised but the name calling is very unnecessary. Someone said he won't give him his job. That's his own way of getting back at him and nobody had any issue with that. His decision, his project, his money.
I will never be a party to spoiling other peoples legitimate hustle.

At the bolded. (which is the bone of contention between the young man and those who criticised his stance).
But first, thank you for your response.
Let me summarise with two phrases:
1) To whom much is given, much is expected.
2) You cannot be crowned an Eagle and claim to be unable to snatch Chickens! (what else is an Eagle supposed to do?

With those two above, l will say there are legitimate expectations of 'followers', from a 'leader', in all spheres of life.
You see, the fact that we all come here and get Professional assistance/information, did not happen by CHANCE, it is the result of a coordinated effort of a lot of people, that brought us to this point and one of the ENABLING RULES that made it happen is because we hold ourselves (voluntarily) to a HIGH and NOBLE Standard.
A major fulcrum of such Standard is that when you see wrong or you hear wrong being perpetuated, YOU SPEAK OUT.
It does not matter whether that wrong is to a stranger, to the Customer of a Competitor, to an Industry that is not you own, to your paddy-paddy or so many other "considerations" we can conveniently hide behind.

Looking out for and looking after one another is not a difficult thing, but it has helped a lot of people, Home Owners, Professionals, Contractors, Suppliers, etc.
It is an Eco-System of mutual -benefit and the moment we start to entertain this notion of "E nor concern me, as long as it does not affect me", especially if you are considered a "Leader", we start to gradually destroy that Eco-System
.
(Remember @Hajj M and others have been given stick for not speaking out on certain occasions, not because he/they have anything to do with the issue, but because he/they are considered leaders' here and rightly so!).

To whom Much is Given, Much is Expected.
The name-calling, though unnecessary, was just a natural response to his remarks, though l wont call him names, personally.
Thank you Sir.

Incase l am still not clear, imagine if your bricklayer Builder was building your Storey Building Columns and was using a 8mm Iron Rods.
Imagine you not being a Professional in that field, came here and asked whether this is proper.
Imagine if the likes of Spyder, Segzy, Abdulwatexc, Aventures, (Professionals), Hajj, Egunmogaji, (Experienced Owners), etc saw that Question, and THEY DECIDE TO KEEP QUIET, because it is not their problem.

How does that sound to you, in all honesty? Will you say it is right for them to just to ignore you and say afteral, "You are not their Client"?
They dont owe you any response but as 'leaders' in various field, they owe you the right information, which is why we are all here, which is where Imran Roofing went wrong, which is what started the argument.

A Society that grows, is one which protects and looks after one another, without expecting 'immediate profit'.

I don't know what you are building, but I will advice you to give the carpentry work to Carpenters that already has wood. That will cut a lot of money cos the woods will later be useless if you are not doing big project and you will end up selling them for peanuts or they will even vanish from your site.

My brother, posting just the quotation here without mentioning what you are building isn't enough.
State what you are building and if possible post your floor plan for the scrutiny of our professionals (and non-professionals alike ... Lol) on this thread.
Have you also considered the option of renting woods? I never bought any wood during all the stages of in my project after I realized what the carpenters did to my friend - all the woods were stolen after removal before he got to parapet stage - stolen by same carpenters. Compare the cost of
buying wood with rentals to see if you can save a reasonable amount.

No Sir, what l mean is about the issue we are discussing.
I mean you are "missing a lot" about the issue that is the cause of the angst of others, over the silence of the Contractor in question.
As in, there are other angles (as l explained in my post above), that you have not put into consideration, apart from the Contractor not owing anybody any explanations as to his silence, in the face of injustice.

Let me also add that we look after each other here, you have also contributed to my own knowledge, together, we strive to assist ourselves, that is why l, personally, will frown at a "me, me and myself approach", from anyone here.
We all need to stick together, for the benefit of all of us.

In all honesty the superflex can’t save you money to normal OPC cement.

Bcs 95pec structure in Nigeria are not well leveled both wall and floor
All of them required leveling both wall and floor

The only area you can get good leveling is when you are tiling on EXISTING TILES or PLYWOOD.
These surface will only required tiny thickness of superflex like 1-3mm, with this you can get 5m area covered with 1 bag of superflex 20kg.

But in all others wall you will need about 8-12mm thickness to get some of this wall to normal level
What does this mean: very simple and the answer is you will need more superflex to achieve this.
This is where you get it NOT cheaper to use.

But in terms of marble work on top of kitchen casted slab, or wall marble work go for it bcs of its nature(gummy).

But if you can straighten your wall or floor before application of the superflex you are good to go.
But remember you are using normal cement and sand to do this which is another cost also.

In conclusion it’s not cheaper to use here in Nigeria in term of saving cost.

This is my practical experience on it for some years back.

A lot of people who do not understand NextHome’s concept end up wasting time, materials and resource.

You’re only enriching the artisans in your project and getting little value in return.

I just completed casting of 6 slabs and this is all I spent on carpentary formwork rental and workmanship - 80k

I’m 100% sure your carpenter won’t use the quality of Formwork we use on our projects and won’t be as fast. Also the savings realized.

The amount going into that stage of work in your quote is too much. Worse still you’re getting little value in return.

Baba, whether you have leveled floor or not, you cannot use only cement to install tiles on floors. You’ll still need some sand

That’s a negative on OPC.

Moreso, demanding straight walls and leveled floors from our contractors shouldn’t be a rocket science if it can be achieved elsewhere.

Finally, it’s only here we use OPC to install tiles. By standard, tiles installation are done with adhesive. Am I right or wrong?

That 1m people are doing it wrong doesn’t make it right.

Even if the wall is terrible, is it that most of our tilers don’t know about backer boards. These stuffs and solutions are out there for years. I think we are just stuck with conventional approach.

You do not need cement mortar or o level I never surface when using Supafix. You can use the adhesive to level out uneven surface a day before installing your tiles.

We also tried this during the demonstration.
