Dear Family

Please can someone assist me with my query.

I am a British born citizen and permanently reside in the UK, I will be getting married in January 2021 to my fiance who lives in Nigeria (he was born in Nigeria).

Our intentions are to apply for PR and move to Canada permanently. I have family that live there also.

My main concern or worry is the fact that we live in two different countries which will be apparent on application and wouldn't want this to hinder the outcome, just incase the marriage is considered to be sham?

Is there anything I should do differently or mention in the application?

Please advise, many thanks.

Put yourself in the shoes of the Visa Officer and ask yourself what documents would need to be presented to prove your relationship?

There's no fast and hard rule about this... You just need to prove your relationship beyond reasonable doubt. How have you guys maintained your relationship across two continents? That's what the Visa officer will like to see.

Hello,

Has anyone received PR after March 2019 and was able to land successfully in Canada. Theres a form attached to COPR that says people should not land till restrictions are lifted.

Has anyone experienced this?

The answer is yes and If you actually flip few pages back you will see people are still coming in with their landing documents. Good luck

Hello everyone,
I would like to connect with someone in Windsor who can help or give advice with respect to apartment rental. I will be coming to the University of Windsor next year with my family ( Wife and Kids), and I would need a 2-bedroom apartment with a cost of no more than $1000 USD per month. It would have been much better to land and search for one myself, but due to the family size, it might not work that way. Hence, the need to connect with someone already on ground who may have very important information concerning some of the available apartments nearby. Anyone living in Windsor who can be of help in this regard would be appreciated.Thanks.

Have you checked kijiji.ca?

i used to think guys in canada use to over exaggerate the dating situation in canada. Most Nigerian ladies here wont even give you eye or answer you if you are still a struggling migrant, took me time to get a job in my field unto covid. Suddenly they are now coming close.so what happens if i am laid off tomorrow for example. They will japa again abi. I no longer pity those ladies complaining of no husband in canada o. Na ojukokoro dey worry most, looking for a guy earning megabuck, living in a downtown condo with 2019 car cheesy

Wahala for who send 9ja girl here..Don't waste your time oh.Find better white girl or other African girl..9ja girls no follow at all.

Hi everyone! I recently just got this information and was wondering if anyone could help verify it. I was told that the location for your quarantine arrangement has to be at your point of entry; meaning, let’s assume your final destination is Saskatchewan, and your point of entry is Toronto, you wouldn’t be allowed to board a domestic flight from Toronto to Saskatchewan without having first quarantined for 14 days AT TORONTO (even if you’ve made prior quarantine arrangement already at Saskatchewan). Please is this correct?

Hi wizz. I personally haven’t traveled yet, but I’ve seen a few testimonies I’d people landing successfully. What seems to be of primary concern are: quarantine plan, POF, arrive CAN app. I hope this helps!
Could you be so kind as to share how long it took you from when you submitted your passport to when you received copr? Also, did you get an acknowledgement of receipt when your passport arrived Ghana?

I’m not feeling this second wave lockdown at all, it’s made life unexciting being indoors for two weeks.
Anyone in Calgary who wants to hang out for casual drinks should holla.

Don't dismiss their submission. For some people, especially relatively new immigrants, going to work was their only way of meeting and associating with people. With the lockdown, they've got nowhere to go. That's probably the case of the person you quoted. They know the lockdown doesn't prevent anyone from stepping out, that's why they're asking if anyone wants to hang out.

I am allowed to go outside...but to see who?
Moved here early this year and I don’t really have any friends.
‘Working’ from home for 2wks is already driving me crazy, so I need to interact with people with similar time zones.

Thank you jare, you get it.
These past two weeks have really made me appreciate the unnoticed excitement of simply going out from Monday - Friday, especially in a foreign country.

download apps like meetup where people are plan activities, join 9ja telegram and whatsapp group. Use dating apps too if single. Its hard to make friends we know. But there are things you can do that helps out. Covid-19 is also not helping matters. So na to endure till vaccines come.

Thank you for your prompt response! I was also told that the SIN registration is now done online and not more physically at the airport, is this also correct?

Yes you can apply for SIN online now. I don’t know if they cancelled SIN application at the airport though but we got ours by applying online when we got PR in May(we were inland applicants).
