If any of you know of a job where I can stay at home for 11 months (in the name of strike) and still be assured of my salary, allowances etc please let me know because that is what these lecturers have and are doing.

DON'T blame ASUU...

They are buying time to be PAID D 70billion proposed before CALLING OFF THE STRIKEcheesycheesy

That union understands FGN gimmicks more than NIGERIANSgringrin

And how would it affect the average lecturer and the state of our schools?
the 70billion go still disappear like all the billions they have been sentimentally collecting.

Pls next topic this is very nasty and irrelevant. Next............

De main stakeholders of ASUU are very very good friends to the government.they all know what they are doing
so what are they doing?...ASUU union right from the military era has always been that one Union that gives the government tough time...I remember Abacha threatening to sack all lecturers because of their agitations. Or the 1-2 years strike during Obj time.ASUU has known how Gov behaves as you can see what they did in NLC matter

The University is the vehicle, FG is the owner, students are the passenger and ASUU is the driver.

Vehicle owner only wish to hear that the vehicle is moving, passenger only wish to get to his destination, but a GOOD DRIVER pays attention to the vehicle and stop it (even when it is still driveable) for necessary repairs and maintainance, regardless the grumblings and murmurings from the owner and the passenger. Not to just continue driving till the vehicle knocks to a stop or crash due to multiple faults.

So, whenever you remember that the drivers of the four refineries Nigeria used to have drove the refineries to the dump sites they are today, same with Nitel, Ajaokuta steel and many other govt owned companies, and the fact that NEPA was only salvage at scrap and the so called private drivers can't still get it running smoothly, thank ASUU again.

So long as the FG will continue to pay salary arrears to striking ASSU or other government employees so long will these associations will easily embark on strike.
They never lose, they never work for the period they're on strike and yet they are paid. Then where's the deterrent. It seems they eat their cake and have it at the same time.Win win all the way.
