A Lady turns down N190k job in Lagos because she's scared of Third Mainland Bridge

Twitter user has narrated how a lady turned down a N190k job offer in Lagos because she's scared of Third Mainland Bridge.

According to @lollypeezle, the lady thought she would be given the role in the Mainland office of the firm whose island office is the only one functioning at the moment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He added that the lady turned down the job on grounds of her being scared of ''plenty water and Third Mainland Bridge.''

He tweeted;

Just today, a lady turned down a lucrative job on the Island. She said she can’t take it because she’s scared of Third Mainland Bridge. I was dumbfounded...

She's likely HYDROPHOBIC.
and that's not worth her stress at all.
Small Money for that matter...
She better gets a 150k Job in states like Ondo, Enugu, Akwa Ibom than 200k Job in Lagos.
LAGOS will kill her before her time.
It's an assurance.

If not sheer poverty, what is the fuss about 190k job that makes it to be tagged "lucrative?"

Deduct the amount you spend on transport and calculate how much that is per hour (add the time you spend in buses) in dollars.

Add Lagos stress to this. You'd be living an unenjoyable and purposeless life.

Much as I doubt the sort of things people post online these days, I won't be too quick to dismiss this entirely because I know someone close to my family who has a similar phobia. And as such, I think I can relate with this to some extent.

The thing is, she is not necessarily scared of the bridge in question. She is actually scared of the body of water beneath the bridge- almost to a point of nauseousness.

I would have said this is just another 'lie' myself had it not been for the fact that a family friend (a female too) also has a similar problem. She simply doesn't like going over that bridge whenever she is in Lagos. And if for any reason she has to travel over it, she would have to shut her eyes so as not to see the lagoon.

It's a weird phobia for sure.

What you didn't factor in your equation was the salary she may be currently earning.

If the difference between her present salary and this new one is 40k or less, then the inconvenience may not be worth it.

People will hear only one side of a story and open their mouth waaaah like goat as if they have full information.

Do you know much the lady is earning currently in comparison to the alternative she is forgoing?

Do you know her phobia?

Do you know how she handles stress?

If you don't,.................. ......
