During the civil war, Biafra made her own weapons, including guns, armoured cars and the famous ogbunigwe. Biafra also refined her own petrol. Please don’t take my word for it. Research it. 50 years after defeating Biafra, Nigeria can’t make her own weapons or refine fuel. We are dependent on others to fight Boko Haram. Our brothers and sisters are being killed like chickens in Northern Nigeria. And we import every drop of petrol sold in Nigeria. Why didn’t we learn from the Biafrans? Why did we not turn those Biafran war era scientists into Nigerian scientists to drive our technology? Nigeria should not fear the Igbos. Nigeria should be fair to the Igbos!

Don't let hatred and tribalism cloud your mind. Who gave us weapons during the war ?, who gave us money during the war, even when Food was being brought to us, the plane was shut down yet we held our ground. Imagine, Just imagine if this and other great feats by the Biafrans were done by the Yorubas. Most of them, if not all will kill us with noise both media and offline. Almost all of them will even go to the extent of tattooing it on their chest.

Is anyone saying Biafra didn't have any countries and bodies sympathetic to their course? I can tell you the assistance in practical and logistical terms that your useless Nigeria got from the likes of Britain, Egypt and even Cameroon! Yes, Biafra made use of a handful of mercenaries but could you tell me in pracrical and logistical terms what help Biafra got from France, Haiti, the Catholic Church, etc?

I don't know why when Igbos are given kudo for anything, your kind get restless and envious! 'Fellow compatriot' indeed! I'd feel safer sharing the same country with a brood of vipers!

Thats true. Egbema is rich in oil so the Biafrans built make shift back room refineries all over Egbema from where they collected crude oil and refined it into petrol and diesel. Egbema supplied Biafra with all its petrol and diesel.

After the war, they took the oil producing part of Egbema and put it into Rivers state( Egbema Ndoni LGA) and left the non oil producing areas of Egbema in Imo state(Ohaji-Egbema LGA)

Each time I watch any documentary on Biafra or read books about its technological advancement as far back as late 1960's when Africa was still known as the Dark continent, I feel like shedding tears on the missed opportunities.

A coward dies many times before their actual death. Biafrans fought a war because they had the dignity to die fighting for what they believe in, than be crushed without any resistance and that's what courageous people do. However, everyone knows that Wasterners want oduduwa like kilode but they're too afraid to fight for it yet they continue to lament and cry everyday. They lost to the combined firepower of Britain, Russia, Egypt, Chad, Niger and their puppet Nigeria. However, they stood their ground and fought like men even when the odds were overwhelmingly against them. That's the stuff of great men and that is what you wasterners can never muster the courage to do!!
