rka1:With your kind of logics, nigeria will certainly not end up sending anybody to the moon. There are several reason why a person would have a "new moniker": 1) "I got tired of wasting my time talking to retards on nairaland, so I deleted my former account" 2) I didn't have an account so i created a "new moniker" 3) I am being harrassed on nairaland, so I deleted my former account and created a new one ... These are just a few reasons. Anyway, I will soon delete this account for being harrassed and wasting of time talking to retards. |

LTGEN: Yeah! It's what they do. They can't separate politics from anything. Imagine hating your country's military? BTW, the below might explain the Mi-17E being from Serbia as a way to avoid sanctions imposed on Russia. "The NAF said the aircraft was the second acquired from Serbia. However, it is likely the aircraft was manufactured in Russia and possibly acquired through a Serbian broker as flight tracking data shows the helicopter was delivered aboard Ilyushin Il-76TD RA-76502 operated by Russian private charter carrier Aviacon Zitotrans, which flew the transport from central Russia to North Africa on 1 December, bypassing Serbia. The Il-76TD took off from near Kazan, Russia, where Mi-8/17 helicopters are manufactured at the Kazan Helicopters factory." https://www.defenceweb.co.za/aerospace/military-helicopters/nigerian-air-force-receives-another-mi-171-helicopter/ 4 Likes |

davidmarker: It was only confirmed and given the go-ahead in 2018 as I already explained. Every other time it was unconfirmed and in the case of the previous CAS, showboating. Yes, it can actually take 5 years and longer from when a deal is agreed for an aircraft to delivery and examples are the UK & US. I have not even mentioned the limited ability of the Pakistanis to produce the jets in enough quantity for themselves as well as other vendors. So you think the pilots training in Pakistan at the moment and preparations being made to receive the jets is living in an alternate reality? Please don't run away when they arrive o! I would like your opinion then |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Nobody: 3:45pm On Dec 03, 2020 |
Please pardon my ignorance, but why do ordered aircrafts take time to be delivered? sometimes it takes like 2-3 years. I mean, the aircraft has been made already(except they have to make as you order), is it not just to receive the order and then ship it? why take so long? |

Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by rka1: 4:02pm On Dec 03, 2020 |
Heartlessbanker: It takes time to manufacture depending on the complexity of the aircraft. Also, the aircraft are used to train your pilots and technicians before being delivered. No point delivering the aircraft if nobody to man them or look after them. |

rka1: IMHO, barring COVID, those birds would have been here by now, the pilots where suppose to start training in Q1 this year, because of the lockdown and global uncertainty, that wasn't feasible, they traveled to Pakistan in Q2, I think the delay could be caused by pilot training not been concluded PS - I think he's just having fun, at trolling, I'm sure he can read, we've been following this deal for years, the deal was only confirmed and payment made for by Q3 2018, I'm sure he knows this, If he wasn't you've made it known to him. I've never seen anyone in the public sector as honest as the CAS, he doesn't speculate, over time, trust and respect has been built, That's priceless especially when you come from these parts, he said the birds are coming, I don't know about you, But I'll take his word for it, it's obvious, some Pakistani technicians are already in Benue 6 Likes |

rka1:With all this evidence staring at us in the face, don't you think Nigeria can still be sanctioned by the west if all this your conspiracy theory is true? |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Nobody: 10:15pm On Dec 03, 2020 |
rka1:Are you sure the problem is from the Pakistani or from Nigeria? If Nigeria have the money, we might be buying it direct from China if Pakistan will be wasting time. China will deliver the three jets in one year Hope you know we are still paying for this aircraft? Is the UK also buying three fighter jets from the USA? So after the UK and US sign the agreement for three jets, it took the US 2-4 years before they start delivering the jet |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Nobody: 10:43pm On Dec 03, 2020 |
Heartlessbanker:They have to build it from the scratch, unless you wan buy second hand or refurbished jets. I believe nah money dey delay our JF17 like this, Nigeria dey pay small small. Russia and China officials started negotiation on the SU35 deal in 2010, they eventually signed a contract for China to buy 24 SU35 in 2015 the first 4 was delivered in 2016 while 10 was delivered in 2017. Myanmar ordered for 16 JF17(they are using Russian engines in their JF17) from China, by 2018, China delivered all the 16 fighter jets. 3 Likes |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by rka1: 10:59pm On Dec 03, 2020 |
BabaOwen: The problem is from no one. The aircraft payment had a sovereign guarantee pledged by the Pakistani Government in 2018 for the 3 aircraft and the installments in the Nigerian budget is to the Pakistani Government. The aircraft manufacturers have been paid. As already explained, a combination of factors have delayed it this year, the main one being COVID as the pilot and maintenance personnel training commenced late. What, you will deliver the aircraft without pilots or maintenance engineers to look after it? Go and look at the time line for the order and delivery of the F35B in the UK. Check any western orders for new aircraft, even by Saudi Arabia, Qatar etc and look at the time line for when they commenced delivery of the first few aircraft. So, 2 years is not long for the JF-17. |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by rka1: 11:06pm On Dec 03, 2020 |
BabaOwen: Only thing that the USA can sanction directly is the Super Tucano deal, but I doubt it will happen as it will give impetus for Nigeria to disregard any sanctions against Russia and go for the remaining Mi-35m helos. |

in light of the signed agreement with China. Why can't we buy the J-16 from them too. The Shenyang J-16 (Chinese: 歼-16) is a Chinese tandem-seat, twinjet, multirole[3] strike fighter[1] developed from the Sukhoi Su-30
