Promxy94: Everyday isn't Christmas...
Sometimes we get it wrong, sometimes we get it Right.
But the major thing is never to give up.
I drop this short story of my negotiation gone wrong. Someone might learn one or two or might decide not to learn from it.
I registered a Geo domain name and placed the amount of low $xxxx
Reached out to the only buyer for the domain name and he replied with a mid offer of $500 which I posted here sometimes last month.
I rejected and said $1000 is my last.
He didn't reply anymore.
I called him, and his workers picked since its was a general office line, I introduced myself and told them, why I was calling. They quickly kept me on hold to forward the call to him the boss, and he was happy to speak to me and we talked for over 10mins and he said he could now only pay $300.
I talked him into paying $550 That am considering the economy hardship on businesses, caused by the covid pandemic.
He accepted and asked me to forward the link.
I dropped the call and forwarded the link but he didn't reply immediately, but later he replied me and copied his team members and said his team refused the payment that they could only pay $300.
I rejected his offer and told him if not $550, no deal.
His team member then messaged, and told me am being gready for a name I have no use for, and registered with few bucks, and even told them the renewal was less than 10bucks.
That I should accept their generous offer of $300.
I replied him that I am not doing anything less than what I agreed with their Ceo.
Infact am changing my price and hiking it. Even if the domain never sells.
I called the office number again and someone picked and when I explained myself they said I should wait for the Ceo and kept me on hold, but after some minutes they said he wasn't on seat.
Negotiation gone wrong.
Did I regret my actions, answer is no People may think am ok or having sales, that's why I behaved like that towards the offers, but the truth is for sometimes now am lacking sales, as am experimenting a new technique.

I admire your negotiation skill bro. But please where did you tell them you were calling from? What did the supposed ICT guy tracked in your mail. Abeg give me small sense. Thanks |

Sold Price : $2000 Reg Fee : $6.95(Sav) Received : $1400 after commissions deduction Sold Venue : SquadHelp Sale Type : Inbound Hold Time : 3 monthsInnotera //dot//com
Sold Price : $1799 Reg Fee : $5.99(Dynadot) Received : $1295 after commissions deduction Sold Venue : SquadHelp Sale Type : Inbound Hold Time : 6 monthsI've been a bit away for while because of project activities and other stuffs I'm handling outside Domaining so had little time to participate or focus on the industry activities that much. On the sale of rejuvida that is a bit rare sale for a name with such combo because, "Vida" means life in Spanish and Portuguese and doesn't go well with most words, I guess the synergy between the prefix "Reju" which relates to "Rejuvenate" and "Vida" or "Life" made me pick up the name. To summarize how the market have been so far, it's been pretty slow year majorly because of the pandemic effect and a slow progression in recovery by all sectors of global economy, hence most marketplaces have been dead for me this year, Afternic have been non-existent for me all year long probably because of alot of changes going on there this year and also because of my portfolio price increase there at the beginning th year with just 2 sales all year long, Dan have been pretty average too with just a Sale more than Afternic for me and with a portfolio of over a 1000 names listed names in both platforms, Squadhelp have been slow but pretty okay for me with roughly 7 sales this year with a current portfolio of 400 premium names. BrandBucket have been overly ineffective for me all year long with just 1 sale there and over 120 names. Brandpa have been under achieving with 0 sales in the past 18 months with just 23 names. Just joined the new brand marketplace Alter and can't make much about them although currently owns around 200 names there and it's been 2 months there but nothing serious other than a lucky $700 sale for a name that was originally listed for $2000 but sale came as a make offer which I accepted... So can't make much of that. So far so good is been a pretty unusual year with a mix of different factors influencing the market, but in all I give all the Glory to God who has been faithful. Parzival001: Bad negotiation? Please I'm still learning. Need y'all opinions. BIN was $299 Not a pro. But using this technique would close you the sale almost 100% times by God grace if the buyer is really serious. As I have closed like 5 sales with same method recently. First when you receive an offer.... don't accept it. All offers I have accepted straight...buyers ran with the speed of light. Secondly don't get attached or emotional to a Geo domain...even if it's 50usd just sell and buy other names it's all about flipping not investment as in BRANDABLES. Finally, when you receive an offer say 100 for a 299 Geo bin name. Already the buyer as shown you his card, as in his pocket size. Now you don't go straight and accept. You counter with say 117, 125, 133, 145 137 etc.. Then you tell him: "I already received higher offer. Send me your best offer and I will consider". Most times the End user will accept and buy straight or will send an offer that he can afford. Then you accept. And move to next domain. Example below: the Bin was 555 49 Likes 9 Shares |

What payment method are you using already? Afternic has 3 to 4 payment methods the last time i checked which includes 'PayPal', 'Wire Transfer' Good as Gold and 'eCheque'(which is similar to wire transfer) But the most preferred options for Nigerians is 'PayPal' or 'Wire Transfer' For PayPal option you'll need an exchanger For wire transfer you'll need you full bank details, bank swift code(which differs depending on the bank in use) and your address. Are you related to Keith De Boar..? Lol, not really bro. Have been building my portfolio in the last 6 months and Recently bought a SH portfolio from another domainer at reseller price, but surprisingly not much have changed as the Sales through Rate (STR), have not improved the way I would have expected due to name addition. I feel better off in terms of STR When I had around 100+ names to now as size haven't reflected on output and I feel squadhelp is experiencing some marketplace saturation at the moment... With over 65k names in their marketplace that is a big jump from 12k names they had as at early last year and this marketplace saturation might be affecting sales. It was easier to sale a name last year their with a portfolio size of 36 names than it is right now. (Just my observation) and on alter I simply had to Resubmit all my names there to see what they like, but I still don't trust the marketplace yet until I start seeing actual results. Lol, Keith de Boar is a man I revere so much in the industry but not related Peace 17 Likes 2 Shares |
