thejourney200: you prefer that, than getting the naija passport for the baby?. its emergency travel certificate, not electronic. the nigerian consulate is working now, you can contact them for either. naija passport is better, IMO |

cretin: I wanted to go that route earlier because I wanted to come to Nigeria to renew my passport until I got this appointment. |

Hello everyone, please for those that have renewed their childs US passport in Nigeria, for the collection at DHL office, do you have to take the child along to collect the new passport? Or you can go alone to get it for your child. I have mailed both the ACS lagos and DHL no reply. Thanks |

Hello house please i remember going through this forum and making notes years back when i was exploring the option of birthing in the US but i never used the information cos i never got pregnant and have been trying. I remember reading here that if get a tourist visa you could write the embassy informing them you intend birthing in the US on the visit visa so they have it on record you informed them, my question is this does that still stand now. I noticed a lot has changed since i visited the birthing forum about 4 years ago and I'm now pregnant by Gods grace and mercy and would want to birth in the US cos my pregnancy has been termed high risk by virtue of my age. I don't even know where to start as i don't know if most of the information still stands? Id appreciate comments that'll steer me in the proper direction. God bless 1 Like |

skace:42 is not old to give a birth unless you have a very serious health condition and you need the medical help not available in your country. You will need a solid medical history to convince the US embassy to give you visa. |

SmartKitty:high blood pressure in pregnancy is a very very serious issue and can cause death for both mother and baby, it is even the major cause of infant and maternal mortality . I’ve been a victim twice At my young age so I’m talking from experience. 42 and high bp in pregnancy is very high risk . Please read up on preeclampsia and enclampsia . She needs to see a maternal fetal specialist and we don’t have that field of study here I had to go abroad for it 9 Likes |

I didn't want to go into details, i just needed verification on birthing with a tourist visa since i have one and she had to make it about this. If granting me a visa is age and serious health condition dependent then i should be over qualified cos pregnant women who are 35 years and above are considered high risk! Moving back to the subject matter please can someone give me a response on the question i asked earlier 4 Likes |

Skace I don’t really know about the situation of things now at the border , but make sure you’re carrying enough money and your correspondence from the doctor here in naija and abroad. Be sure to talk to a perinatologist or a MFM. You will carry to term in Jesus name 3 Likes |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Nobody: 10:21pm On Dec 01, 2020 |
Debbieeeeeee:Then she needs to document well all her health issues, find the appropriate clinic in US and ask for visa. Yet she can be denied anyway, she can be asked why she doesn't go to geographically closer country with better health services. You don't need to attack me, I am just explaining how it works. And how is the worldwide situation now, I doubt any pregnant foreign lady gets a birthing visa to US. Everybody realize, even travelling is a high health risk with corona virus and all and some are just trying to push the anchor baby American citizenship. Go to South Africa, great doctors there and much closer or waste your money applying for US visa. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Nobody: 10:33pm On Dec 01, 2020 |
Ah, adding to it, even with visa travelling with all virus checking troubles, it's most likely you may be sent back, not allowed to enter US. It's not easy now, our borders are very strict now. Sorry about your hard condition and really South Africa has great doctors well known all around the world, shorter trip and less possible virus contacts. |

SmartKitty: the OP didn't ask you about South Africa so I'm not sure the purpose of your unsolicited advice. she asked a specific question which you did not respond to, but felt very free to give your opinion about the health situation of someone that you don't know. It's this same type of mannerless oversabi you people carry to the embassy and eventually bring here. It's not only to wear bubble coat in america, try to learn manners as well. 17 Likes |

SmartKitty:I’m not attacking you, she has a visa to the USA already she just needed someone who recently traveled on such premise to fill her in. Perinatology isn’t a vast field of medical study in Africa and yes there may be one in South Africa but the well experienced ones are in America , even when I got to America I still had to find the ones with experience with managing people of my case. It’s hard dealing with a situation that has no treatment that’s why you’re saying South Africa South Africa , high bp in pregnancy has no treatment and your life is hanging on a thread as you’re swallowing all sorts of medications to stabilise your blood pressure 5 Likes |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by jossy404: 12:12pm On Dec 02, 2020 |
The OP actually has enough time at hand to be answering question about her age and health condition. Are you her family doctor? Simple question require simple and direct answer. If you dont have a reasonable answer to the question, the best bet is to keep quiet and read on. Is that difficult to do @SmartKitty? 9 Likes |

Debbieeeeeee: Agreed! But why will anyone with such a fragile state of health during pregnancy now subject herself to another very long(13 hrs or more) and stressful very long distance trip Wouldn't it be better that the person limits at all cost any added stress during that will occur during very long distance movements. There are also very good private hospitals in Nigeria that can address any high risk heath conditions related to high blood pressure during pregnancies as long as the person has the money to pay for it. 1 Like |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Nobody: 8:42pm On Dec 02, 2020 |
Beautyaddy:Why? Maybe there are some people is willing to risk their own health and the health of the baby just for to get the anchor baby papers. The reasonable would be what you are advising. Can you imagine travelling pregnant and with health issues, everywhere virus test, lines and all kind of people around maybe sick, then American hospital, we here locally are avoiding hospitals and contacts in clinics and public places, so many people die, very irresponsible. Or after a long tired trip just to be turned around and sent back because the law says no more birth on tourist visa. Anything could happen, very irresponsible. 1 Like |

abike12:Where did you learn your "manners"? America is with capital A, by the way. It's a PUBLIC FORUM, everybody is FREE to put their opinion different from yours and I wasn't even talking to you. If you have manners, write about the subject, do not attack or criticize a particular person. Behave yourself. |

Please does anyone know or have an experience on this. Whether the US Embassy in Abuja would accept scanned copies of both parents notarized documents for a minor's passport renewal. |
