This doesn't tell the true picture of things. Arsenal hardly sell their scrap players until they reach their "menopause" or past their sell date, then they'll now sell on a very low price or even for free.

So for example if arsenal buys a player of say 20m, then when we wanna sell players that same season, with all the free releases or low sale, it might amount to say 10m. So our net spend is 10m.
Liverpool on the other hand might buy 2players for 80m for example while selling 5-6 players cumulatively for 100m.

So looking at those example, our net spend will be higher than Liverpool's own even tho we(the fans) knows we didn't substantially improve our squad. That's what is killing arsenal.

The thing I notice with Arteta is that maybe he doesn't trust youths enough. I don't know why but that's just my thoughts
