How I wish I'm not with mother in law, they are just doing opposite to my baby. Can't imagine mixing funbact A with Ori for two weeks old baby, giving her agbo and suggesting treating one foolish oka again. My baby is not even smelling like a new baby but like chemist. I'm crying typing this

Oh dear mom,
Wipe your eyes, I understand the feeling of helplessness especially when u have to maintain peace. They never agree, they think they know better, not knowing it’s God that saved us from their ignorance when we ourselves were babies. Now his instilled knowledge and wisdom in us, u must be bold and crafty if u cannot be direct.

Am scared for u to even leave her in their care for even a minute. Take advice of moms here and speak to hubby first, then doctor. Of a truth, that funbact and agbo is a NO. If all fails, u must be wise.

Have someone bring ori plenty for u, pour out the mixture and replace it with the fresh one. Remember to work on it so it has same appearance with the one she mixed. Add a baby lotion if needed to achieve the consistency.

That agbo, u need to stop it cos I can’t think of any remedy. Toning it down my adding more water won’t be enough. It needs to stop. Keep insisting and protesting about this. Here, u have to be bold.

They cry a lot during bath time anyway, insist on feeding as soon as she wears clothes and take baby and go. In all, pray for wisdom and strength. May God help u.

Am seeing 8k on konga for 54 pieces or so size 2.seems expensive

That’s ridiculously expensive. Biggest size is around 4K to 4.5k, depending.

Mine adopted putting silver bird directly on baby skin in the bid to close the opening on the forehead at tender age. I enlightened her, she didn’t agree, after she’s done bathing I take baby into my room to feed and use water to wipe it off. They cry a lot during bath time anyway, insist on feeding as soon as she wears clothes and take baby and go. In all, pray for wisdom and strength. May God help u.

Wow, I really appreciate all of you advices and support. I did exactly what you all told me and I also share your comments with DH since he's also a nairalander which he decided to take everything upon himself and it has come to an end now though we've been on it before now and I've been making sure that she bath my baby in my presence and I've also replace her Ori with ordinary one. Thanks so much guys

Hello Mums in the house.
My baby is 2 wks and I have the following questions;
1) How do I clear rashes on her skin? I stopped using Johnson's products cos I figured it caused it.
2) is there any cream or ointment I can use in addition to hot water/steam massage t make my v. Stitches heal faster?the pain is not from here oo
3) how long does it take for babies to start responding or reacting to gestures like smiling and playing cos she doesn't. She just keeps looking at you.
4) is it normal for them to strain before they poo?
5) what creams are advisable to use on them?
6) i noticed my bre.ast milk is watery. Is it good for the baby?
Sometimes, one bre.ast milk is watery and the other one is thick. Pls what does this mean?
7) She doesn't suck for more than 10-15 mins and doses off. Should I be worried?

Thank you for your anticipated responses.

Ahh, let me try and answer the ones I can. My baby is three weeks old and I found out that she has rashes. I dress her lightly these days. I'm not using anything for the rashes. Shes too small. 2) I dont have an idea on that. I did cs. 3) it's too early for now. They can only try to figure out the object before them(mom). Their sight is still blurry for now. My baby smiles but i think it's one of those reflexes for her age. 4) i dont really understand. 5) dont you think it's still early to change cream? 6) breastmilk has two types. The ones that baby suck at the beginning of the feeding sessions is watery while the one that is sucked at the end of the feeding session is thicker and the most important becos it contains fat that the baby really needs. The first is almost water. Check the breast that is watery is as a result of not been sucked while the thick one could be the one you last fed the baby. 7)Me I make noise for her oh if she doesnt eat to my satisfaction becos she will not sleep for long.. After now, she will be disturbing me when the tank (tummy)runs empty. I hope this helps

Pls mommas and daddy’s in the house help me. My 7months old baby has ela. I really don’t know what exactly causes this ela, if it’s a bacteria or what. Don’t they have antibiotics that can clear it cause I don’t want to use agbo for him. I just bought augmentin suspension and tribotan for him. I just started giving him today but people still keep advising me to go and buy agbo that antibiotics can not clear it. Pls I need your advice. People that experienced ela with your children what did you use. Pls help it has covered all his body

So sorry about that. I used black soap from a baby's shop and baby tribotan. How this works for you. I used both in the morning and at night when bathing him. However because of the hot weather, you can a little o the tribotan.

New moms please help.

So I started feeding my baby with a feeder cos breast milk wasnt coming out after birth.
Now the milk is here but the baby is not sucking, he just cries instead of grabbing and sucking, although my nipple is a bit big.

What can i do? It is really worrying.

Keep putting him to breast, fit the nipple into his crying mouth and begin pressing out milk with your hand into his mouth. He’ll taste the milk and drink and before long realize the nipple gives him milk. Always supplement with the bottle if he didn’t suckle much. The main aim is to ensure his well fed.

Please house, my daughter has Jaundice which she has been battling with since she's been given birth too and she's 7months now. We have done all test possible and most of it was positive. But recently a doc said we should go for scan and it was discovered she has a biliary atresia which can only be corrected with surgery. To what I read about is, it's not 100% sure way, and at a time in her life she may required a liver transplant and I don't even have that much to cover the first surgery not to talk to the transplant.. Please, is there anything we can can do to help cure this long Jaundice?

Thank you for this.

Sometimes he puts his mouth, takes so little for like a minute and starts crying so loud.
Then I use the bottle again and he continues feeding from it without crying.

And my breast hurts so much.

Stop feeding him with the bottle, he finds it easier because of the easy flow that's why he is rejecting the breast, you can try and wait till he is very hungry then put him to the breast that way he will suck, make sure some part of your aureola gets into his mouth then press a little with your finger to help him since he is still learning, if you must feed him otherwise, use a cup and spoon. Let him learn to latch onto the breast before giving him the bottle again

I don’t have experience with this. Hold on for other sabi momma’s. Sending lots of hugs and kisses to DD. It’s not easy and I commend your strength and dedication thus far.

In the mighty name of Jesus, I declare the end of this jaundice, Amen. Everlasting divine healing and restoration. Amen.

Stories can be mirrors that help young people express feelings about a given situation. They give children a vocabulary for what is happening. But, because of how fiction works in the brain, stories can also be windows. When we read fiction, we inhabit other bodies and feel the concerns of other people. This helps young people to develop empathy – but has another profound effect. Reading stories makes us feel experienced and increases resilience.

Follow 'ask the pediatricians' on Facebook and help get info about these things.
'Oka' fontanelle is not a disease that needs to be treated. The fontanelles help the head/skull remain soft so they can squeeze out of your tiny 10cm vagina during delivery and they close up by themselves by 12-18months

Is your husband following ATP too? he should .
Let them know the information isn't just from Google but from pediatricians. Take her along for physical consultation with doctors if it continues.
