Hello @akinjibola, I honestly don't think you should defer the admission except for other reasons cos updates you provided looks promising and positive. Please confirm which IELTS you submitted, General or Academics and was it done before your application or after? Did you indicate in your application that you have taken a language test? Many thanks and all the best. akinajibola: |

Wow! Impressive. I tried booking IELTS Academics on British Council website last night for computer based test but there was no slot at all for Lagos till February 2021. Infact, the only available location to write it is in Warri and that's to be done this Saturday December 12th. Nawa oh... It must shaa end in praise. Ijeanwuli: |

TeeMade: Am not really sure if I indicated that I have done IELTS. Initially I had already prepared documents required for NSE so I had done academic IELTS in August before submitting in September. I just didnt submit it upon submission then. Eligibility Review commenced 1st Dec, I wonder I long it will take to reach a decision. My fear with regards to my application is just 2 reasons 1. Because I dont have landed properties in my name. I only submitted an employment bond I signed with the office stating that I will be absorbed into the company upon completion of the studies and I will remain with the company for the next 3 years afterwards. 2. I have a 6 years old that wont be accompanying me. She is remaining with her dad till I get back. Anyways I honestly hope for the best. 1 Like |

Good evening house, please gurus in the house should assist me with these questions. I got admission to College of the North Atlantic to study GIS Application Specialist (Post Diploma) September Intake. Please I want to ask 1, What's the changes of getting visa for someone who graduated 2012 and want to go for post diploma and how good is the school? 2, Is it a must to write IELTS before applying for a visa? As I'm seeing people talking about that but my school except Nigerians from test of English. 3, How soon çan I start my visa application? 4, Will 6m be enough to show a financial proof? Tuition fee for a year is 10k+ and I will have to pay a deposit or about 4500. 5, Can any close family meme we be a sponsor or co-sponsor? 6, I got admission into a UK University which I've paid almost my tuition fee for a year but due to some unexpected incident I had to deffered my admission till September, I really prefer Canada to UK that's why I decided to push the Canada admission. Please I want to ask people with experience if it's possible to apply for Canada visa and get it before July, so that I can determine my UK fate. Thank you |

Please can someone explain the financial part of this clause? Does it say; 1. Show 30,000 cad dollars 2. bring 1 year statement of acct? Also, what will happen if my sponsor has paid my full tuition and has just about 5M left in his accout?

Onweke: I can relate to this as I have a close person on the same predicament who is also having a tough time making a decision between uk and camada for study. Truth is, UK is very easy to get a study permit. I belong to a telegram group and I can say that in the past months study visa sucees rate is close to 100%. But the issue with uk is its better to pick a course of study that will guarantee you a job on the shortage list which will make you qualify for a skilled work permit after study which eventually will lead to PR. Also, the 2 years post study permit recently introduced makes uk attractive, but it's only valid for 2 years and not renewable. Which means you will need to do all you can to get a sponsor to employ you and make you eligible to stay back in the uk. So in summary UK is easy to get into, but difficult to get PR except you are in a shortage occupation like Healthcare and IT. Canada on the other hand is harder to enter but easier to stay back and get PR. You also need to make sure you bave a very strong SOP and supporting documents to back your application. I suggest you get on YouTube and check @canadainfohub or @noelabingwa to help you put together a strong application for your study. Learn from other people's mistakes so you don't fall victim as well. To your questions raiaed: 1) you can start your application now as the earlier the better to save the rush especially since the pandemic. 2) ielts depends largely on your schools requirements. Also recently some people have had to do ielts to enable them process their requests faster on the Nigeria Students Express. Ielts is required and 12 months statement amongst some other things. 3) you can start your application by watching video on the step by step process and also checking cic. Ca for study permit requirements 4) requirement will also inform you it the amount you stated is sufficient or if you need to pull more funds together before applying. U can pull more funds over the next 4 to 6 months and make your application once you have the funds. That will still give you enough time to make your application before September 21. 5) yes a Clos relative can sponsor you, but this is dependent on your current status. For instance if you state in you sop that you have been working or if you're of a certain age, it's expected that you should have enough funds to sponsor your self. 6) I've stated the pro and cons earlier about uk and Canada. Try and give Canada a shot and if it doesn't fall through you have a plan b which is uk. But if uk is your last resort make sure you get into a course on the shortage list to help your chances of getting a job that will put you on the route to PR. All the best 7 Likes |
