Guys,

I’ve been having ghost updates (application/profile updated) since Sunday.

Sunday was the longest (3hrs)
Monday to date has been for approximately 18mins (every morning).

But when it eventually opens, there’s no change.

Anyone going through same?

Nothing like that with me, October 9 applicant. Last update I got was December 3 when my eligibility review started. My upfront medical was passed November 23.

I experienced the same issue on Sunday, but only on Sunday; and it really lasted up to 3 hours.

I can't see the complete review on the GCMS notes as some basic information were not clear enough. Please can you turn the screen of your phone and take a screenshot of the notes in a horizontal position.

It will end in praise

Hello,

I feel you need IELTS academic for NSE. I don't think ielts general counts for the purpose of NSE.

Hello please don’t confuse people here now .IRCC accepts both . People have sent post or related messages regarding both of them . I know of someone that used General and was approved . Even Canadian high commission in Nigeria recommends general ( see attached email response from them ) but they still accepts academics too

So they accept both of them . Let people write which one they feel and I will urge people to write general cause it seems easier and will be good for immigration purposes later in the future

Have a great day ahead

Good morning gurus in the house @chocs, frankrobbn1, fratermathy, akintommy and others i need an answer to this questions please this is my second application differed my admission from fall to winter, PhD Mcgill university no funding. Have an SOA of 28k cads around 8.1m and a tuition deposit of 6k cad payment has been made. Now my questions are:
1. The tuition deposit was made by my sister inlaw from the Uk since friday through western union but up till now the money is still in her acct and mcgill has not yet received the payment
2. Do i stand a chance of getting a study permit approval?
I was actually denied based on home ties and finances as well as travel history.
Used a third party sponsor before and applied with my wife and kid
But now am applying alone improved my SOA and also still included the sponsor and made a tuition deposit (i hope it is received today)

hello Everyone

please help save a soul here , am in dilemma , don't know what to do,

i have been trying to pay for my VISA FEE now to no avail keep getting transaction not approved i am use zenith, GTB and standard chartered bank with same error and all are funded

kindly advice what to do and how to go about it

Lekiboboe:

Hi Honorable,

No Visa is easy to get via any DLI (School) , you have to work for it by proofing to a Visa Officer you are a genuine student & your purpose of visit to Canada is to study

The two skool u mentioned & the 1 year/2 years program duration has nothing to do with your Visa Chances.

The only thing a 2 years Post Graduate Certificate program will give you is "more time to process Permanent Residence if u wanna stay back in Canada after your studies"

The finances currently look good, I think. I only but wonder though, how come you're pursuing a doctoral admission that doesn't have any funding, either in the way of a GTA/RA or a fellowship? It's kinda odd, especially considering that we're talking about McGill, a tier-one institution that only admits graduate students it can satisfactorily fund.

Anyway, regarding your question, I think you've addressed the issue of finances, but the question of home tie still lingers. IRCC is aware that your kids and wife in Nigeria aren't good enough to serve as home ties because as soon as your legs stay in Canada for one, two or three months, you're going to start pursuing their own visas too, and IRCC wouldn't refuse you because that would be going against their own policy of reunification.

So, I think, perhaps you need to demonstrate home ties in other ways: investments, lands, teaching appointment letter in Nigeria (assuming you're working, for example, as a lecturer in a university here in Nigeria) accompanied with payslip and approval letter for your study leave.

Good day House, Anyone who has an idea about Humber College. I saw one is meant to pay tuition deposit after acceptance of admission. I mailed them asking what about refunds on tuition, they dodged the question.
Does anyone have an idea about it here? Kindly assist

Thanks for your response. However, I joined nairaland on Sunday so I do not have any prior knowledge of my question.

Hence, the reason I sent.

If you applied or you are planning on applying for study permit in QUEBEC province, be ready to receive your NSE request mail for TEF!!! and not IELTS.

I just got mine, and I am sitting this one out☺️

I can't come and kill myself.

Those that applied before this NSE stuff, I consider you lucky to have escaped.

When the time elapses, they should kindly resume my application process biko.

Honestly it's not a big deal.
While it's an advantage to have good travel history, it's doesn't guarantee STUDY PERMIT approval.
I and many other applicants who got APPROVED don't have any travel history, my passport is virgin but still got approved.
Focus on the important documents and very strong SOP, above all, if you're a believer/religious, pray to your God.

Well, at least you've travelled to Ghana. As for me, I've only travelled between my school (UNN) and my village (still in Enugu) throughout my life. Well, let me add Abuja (for Biometrics and Medical examinations) and Ebonyi (for NYSC).

At any rate, 'travel history' is used to check the countries an individual has been to, and the likelihood that they would leave Canada at the end of their studies, just as they left US/Germany/UK/Ghana/Italy/Egypt and whichever other places they've been to before.

If the applicant didn't violate their visa in these other places, well, I think he also wouldn't violate our Canadian visa, the VO would reason.

I totally agree with this opinion. Don't let yourself be sidetracked by the 'travel history' issue. Many have been successful without it. It's not the most essential component of your application. If anything, I'll describe it as some sort of paraphernalia.

Please all honorable and gurus, you all should reason this extract from my friend's gcms note;

Application reviewed with biometrics collection pending. Do not finalize until biometrics is complete or new letter is sent once VAC re-open 22 year old female single no previous travel indicated to assess as a positive factor. Personal savings are low and family savings and income have only be marginally supported. LOA indicates funding of $21,500 CAD per year for at least 2.5 years.

Mind you her tuition is 9k cad and she got funding of 21.5k cad which is enough for tuition and living expense, but she still got support from her dad of around 10k cad I think. Though no decision yet till today and she applied since May 2020. Please, any advice? What do you think will eventually be the outcome since she did biometrics since August.
