DamnnNiggarr:
firstly, Igbo haven't used any of these words as song title, most of the words you pointed out starts and ends in Nland, words like conehead, Afonja, boko haram.
How'll a Northerner feels when an Igbo man titles his song "Boko Haram Northerners"
I remembered last few months how hell was let loose because of a movie by Kingsley Orji starring Pete Edochie, they went as far as threatening to slaughter the Igbos up North if the movie is not taken down.

Secondly, Yorubas, Hausas have their own equivalent derogatory Nick names for the Igbos so don't paint it as if it's only the Igbos that call them(Hausa and Yorubas) such names.
What happened to the Yorubas and Hausas calling the Igbos potopoto region, flat.head, baby factory, drug pushers and so on.
big lie..no be nairaland e end bros...Igbo don de call Yoruba people OfeNmanu since Nd de call Hausa ndi ukwu..so no tell me shit

Yeske, what is wrong with am Nyamirin, calling a Yoruba person: Cone-head, OfeNmanu, Afonja, scratch face or calling a Northerner Boko, Herdsman, Cow-brain, etc?

You guys cant have it both ways.
Practice what you Preach, it is not a curse.

All you mentioned Happens here in this forum..
The average igbo man doesn't even know about all these names you mentioned, it was when I joined nairaland I started seeing all those names..
No igbo man will publicly call a Yoruba or an hausa man any of that

The Hausa did not tell you to call him aboki, therefore you cannot decide for the hausa man what to call you.
From your mind you know what you people consider aboki to mean. Nyamiri! Plz stop trying to play a tricks.

Dont mind them, everyone has a "good excuse" to call another tribe a name that tribe does not like being called.
But when others call them names, they start crying and rolling on the floor like Donald Trump. grin grin grin

who stop you from going! What are you doing in Lagos, abuja, kaduna, port Harcourt? If you want to go then move your gala to any of the five erosion state. Who cares?

In the beginning, man were one, they spoke one language. Untill God brought different tongues, to bring disunity. But why would God bring disunity among men
Simple! They were foolish.

One day man will become one again, SPEAK the first language and those are foolish( racial, tribalistic) will not be PART.

Lesson: If u let rascim, tribalism eats ur soul, then u are foolish
God hate foolish people.
I warned u.

So i guess a white man can call you negro or niggar or even black monkey in admiration. grin grin grin.

We pick and choose what to scream to the high heavens for. The black man believes only him has the right to use derogatory terms on his kin folk.

I am not ibo , neither do I know what alternative she could have used ,one thing is for sure, Dija settled for the commonest description in her region, which we feels is very popular, which leads me to one conclusion that every Nigerian has no moral ground to condemn racism.

Racism to me is more of an attitude or expression than a statement or use of specific words. Sm1 May call u by ur name and never mention niggah, monkey and still be racist to u then Sm1 who calls u niggah.

A Blackman has no right to call his fellow Blackman nigger when a white man shudnt knowing the history of the name unless he’s stupid and disrespectful to himself. Or unless it’s generally permissible under certain circumstances by anyone. undecided

That is exactly where l am going, it is only the Igbos that are perfect, whether online or offline, right?
O'diegwu, carry-go my Brother, l will not debunk your theory but inside you, l am certain you know the truth.
Igbos call others these names, randomly within their own enclave, just as they do it online but for fear of what may happen, they wont do it in their host's place!

After Buhari, the Nnyamirin are the next, most 'clannish'.
Go and read the history of what happened at the first, Federal University in Nigeria, the University of Ibadan, when one Nnyamrin was made the Vice Chancellor

Why should someone be angry cus he was referred toas the black guy?

Like I wrote in my post... Be mindful of locations & situations...

For instance, if you call someone a Mullato (person of half black, half white, usually of Spanish/Portuguese descent but is often extended to other similar racial combinations) in Nigeria, such a person won't bat an eyelid & might even be cool with being termed such.

But call someone a Mullato in countries like Brazil, Argentina, Spain & some other countries, & it could turn bloody because it can be termed an insult...

However, in those same countries, there are certain places where it is used in a casual manner & everyone is ok with it... Hence my point of location & circumstances...

If I am not mistaken, 'Aboki' means 'my friend' and 'Mallam' means a learned man. Its equivalence in Yoruba is 'Ogbeni'. Both are not derogatory in any way.

But there is nothing derogatory about it. And the lyric says I'm In love with inyamuri". Meaning I'm in love with Igbo. We have our own name given to Igbo as also yoruba

Why not use "Okoro" instead of a derogatory term?

Every tribe has their own name.. Yoruba people call us "Omo ije okuta ma mu omi" mean people who eat stone without drinking water.

Igbo call yoruba "idi ofe imanu" meaning people with oily soup.

While Igbo people can hausa "Idi ugu" meaning people from the hill.

So every tribe get their own nickname but you need to be careful on how to use it because it sounds provocative to someone people same way nigroooo sound offensive to blacks.

At this heat of disintegration you de name ur single inyamuri, u won provoke some people.
Ndi Ugwu (Used for Hausas) which rightly describes people who live in "hills" or upland, is not meant to be derogatory neither is it by the way as Hausa land in commonly called "Ugwu Hausa", If you want to know a derogatory term, when you hear "Onye Alukuba" or "Adamu" you know it is meant to be derogatory.

Ndi Ofe Mmmmanu (Used for Yoruba) might be derogatory for Yoruba, but it is nothing but descriptive term for Igbo (Yorubas had a soup that was just red oil in nature), if you want to know the derogatory term for Yoruba, when you hear Onye Mgbati-ngbatim, you know!!

Where do you see Yorubas calling Igbos 'Aje okuta ma mumi'?

The name is too long and I have never seen a Yorubaman calling anyone that name.

Yorubas call Igbos 'Igbo' or simply omo-Ibo.

I have even personally being referred to as that. Nothing out of the ordinary.

That is also another angle.

The name may have been so used up north that it has lost its real derogatory meaning.

To some of them like Di'ja, it may just be like any other name.

Because I don't think she is stupid enough to intentionally play a tribal card on a music video.

It could just be a honest mistake.

So during the Biafran war, Igbo children are allowed to play with Nigerian soldiers to extend of asking them for water? grin grin grin common sense is not common
Sanchez01:
Released date: November 28, 2020 (YouTube)

Inyamuri: Typically how Northerners would refer to anyone of Igbo extraction.

Historically, it is pretty nasty and considered derogatory, considering how the name came to be.

ALTHOUGH, the lyrics do not ridicule, taunt, or laugh at any divide, its historical background is the problem.
