Good day house.
By January, I will be moving to a facility for work related activities that I have calculated power use of about 2000w hourly with minimal day Vs night variations in usage, making a total of about 48kw/day.

My main challenge right now is storage for the main system. While I had been eyeing LiFePO4 battery system, it had become quite clear that it will have to be pushed to 2021/22 axis. New lead acids SMF will cost about 1.5mill which unfortunately is not at all feasible now.
I am now considering fairly used 12 pieces 200amp SMF Batts to tide me over for about a year. Or is there an alternative within the scope of 500k?
Thank you for your comments and imput.

IF YOU MUST GO THE USED BATTERY ROUTE, UNLESS YOU ARE VERY FORTUNATE TO GET DECENT batts, 2kw load for over 12hrs would be tasking the batteries severly, used batteries are best for light loads, their achilles heel is usually big loads.

if you you can get decently used flooded batts, they hv thicker plates wch are supzd to be more load resistant. or better still the 2v 500ah used batts.
the used battery market is a pit of snakes, hope you have the tools -- especially a load tester to thoroughly test any battery you end up going for. using only a volt meter to check batteries is soooo wrong, i hv 2 failed batts, they charge ok and read 13.1v resting voltage, but drop to 6v once you introduce a load to them grin grin grin

have you carefully reviewed your load to see if/how to reduce it?

Any harm/ bad side using 100 AHS battery for a 2.5kva 36 volts inverter?

Your question isnt complete.1 unit or many units connected in series.??.

Lemme assume many units in series.
The more
Batteries you connect, the major chances of things going wrong. Its best to keep things simple.
Eg 4 units of 12v 200ah batts is preferred than 8 units of 100ah batts, 24 units of 2v cells is even the best option

Yep, I do have a load tester. I once had a set of such low-load- happy batts. They are serving a friend really well now coupled to a DC setup.
My 2kw load is basic critical load. I had being monitoring our present load and usage for months. The facility is work based and not domestic. Please note that ACs and the rest are not included in that review, the gens will carry those ones if required.

it will work ok, just reduced run time, and load carrying capability, theoritically, you shouldnt load it more than 150w, but practically, try and not exceed 300w.

Good morning,

Thank you for your response.

Yes, 30,000litres because it will be servicing about 3 village communities in Benue State, good/clean water is still a very big problem there.

The plan is to sink 1 borehole and the intention is to use a Grundfos submersible pump that can last a good while before we have to do any major changes.

The proposed plan for now is that they have some days of the week (4 days) where people can fetch and we use the other days to pump/clean the area so ideally, we would need the tank full or almost full for "fetch days".

As for budget, its a project that needs to be done because the need is just so great. What matters the most is getting it done and done very well and possibly a system that requires very low involvement after. This is why the power system is the next biggest source of concern especially with the epileptic PHCN power supply.

Thanks again!

Citizens in a whole community who are likely mostly peasants having to provide something as basic as portable water for 'emselves.

And that yèyé government is concerned about one useless self serving "water resources bill".

Felicity lithium batteries are also available for order !

Felicity batteries comes in various capacity ratings in kwh but those who don't get this do confuse ahms conversion / interpretation .

We observe some prospects fall for slight price variations forgetting they might be getting lower capacity at the end .

24v 3.5kwh isn't 200a but 150a capacity rating BUT I rather get 24v 5kwh (slightly higher than 200a) which is bit higher in price and readily available for order!

I have clients seeking for 200a or higher felicity equivalent , they're available in :
24v 5kwh
48v 10kwh & 12.5kwh etc

Feel free to reach us for transactions as usual ...

Please can you share the spec sheet side of this battery? If it's 280AH is it at least 14kwh+ ratings?

BROS, wetin happen again, wey you dey find more cells, tot your last upgrade was the final busstop, and valto had some for sale then.

hope its an upgrade and not that you are not having failing cells already?
are you cells lishen, CATL or EVE?

Search on jiji, i recall seeing some a while back there

Have you considered that the issue may be external to the inverter? I suggest a gradual introduction of load to determine the load source that may be sending an occasional surge to the inverter

SO an update on this, though still unresolved.

i disconnected the inverter from supplying the house, by putting the knife switch in neutral....and then connected a load directly to the inverters 13amp socket output, the issue persisted, as the inverter jerked violently and output flunctuated.

so my findings are as follows.

1. inverter output flunctuates when loaded above 20%, as shown on the display, at 10% load output and below, everything is ok
2. we all know that big spark that happens when you trying connecting the inverter to the battery bank. on mine as i just tried recently, the spark is very small now.

inverter is 4kva 48v mustpower, has anyone encountered this issue b4, or any tips on how to resolve it.
am thinking the issue is with the inverter, and not the house wiring, based on my latest tests.
unfortunately i loaned out my backup 48v inverter, so waiting till i get it back to be 100% certain the inverter is the fault

The controllers wouldn’t cost you an arm and leg. If you’re on the market for a controller, make me an offer.

95k for the battery, if you are buying more than one (and I will add a Victron balancer for free). The batteries had only been cycled 13 times (never gone below 70%), and they’re as good as new.

are these sold yet? o813768924o
i'm interested in the batteries if you don't mind whatzapp

That felicity inverter in use there, is it low frequency transformer based inverter or high frequency?

Inverter capacity and price?
Lithium charging profile in the AC charger? Adjustable?
It’s transformer base and it’s7.5kva 48v.

Any idea why lead acid battery manufacturers don't usually state the number of cycles their battery can do on their specification sheet? Are they shy or just downright sneaky? grin

sir oga kiekie1
1) what is the battery cycle life of this carbon battery (230 AH)
2) Compared to normal tall tubular battery how long does it react to overcharging and acid spillage.
3) Do we top it up with distilled water as well.
how can we download or view the battery data sheet.
