Hello everyone, please has anyone been able to do a name change after marriage here in the UK? I have done some research and via deed poll is what's mostly recommended. My confusion is, do we need to do it the UK way or Nigerian way (publishing on newspaper etc)? Also, how do we go about this on our Nigerian passport? I'll really appreciate some guidance. Thanks all. Cc: Justwise Lexusgs430 LagosismyHome wonlasewonimi or anyone who understands the process please 1 Like |

If your bank account is closed and they didn’t give you a reason, you might want to apply for a data subject access request from CIFAS. It’s completely free and can be done online. https://www.cifas.org.uk/contact-us/subject-access-request/subject-access-request-form Jazzman95: |

Please i was told there's a new rule to quarantine on arrival. There is an option of going to do the COVID test instead of quaratining for 14days. If it comes out negative, you are good. Please anyone know how true this is? |

HiddenID: Since you living in the UK you focus on the one the Uk government require. Whenever you decide to move back to Nigeria permanently or as the case may be you do the Nigerian method. Besides by the time you renew her passport for Uk, her name would have been correctly to ur name so you won’t need to worry about change of name in Nigeria..... Hope this makes sense.. |

HiddenID: I did deedpoll because I dropped my birth middle name and replaced it with my maiden name If you are only dropping your maiden name to your married name then you dont need deed poll. Your marriage certificate is sufficient to change the name on your passport . This information is online, let me share a screen shot . Just make sure the new application form is filled with the married name and have these below 2 Likes 2 Shares

Hello everyone, I think this is the best place to ask. My lil cousin will be travelling to UK to study forensic science at ARU, what are the essentials things that we should get for her, before she travels, you can suggest anything, that's readily available in Nigeria or that we should get for her, gonna be shopping for her soon and don't even know what to get. It only my enemy I will advise to buy winter jacket from Nigeria. I wasted 1million Naira to buy clothings necessities while coming to Uk! Guess what all ended in the bin. All what one could buy from Nigeria in terms of clothing is just jeans and beddings materials, any other things apart from this is useless. 3 Likes 1 Share |
