Many still think a border fence is unnecessary? The entire northwest is collapsing, these people are very organized and focus on local communities that are without any military or police presence. The president is still playing cat and mouse games with the national assembly while terrorist are rapidly taking over the country. Thank God many among those who considered themselves ruling class are also falling victims, many lawmakers have been kidnapped recently, a retired high ranking military officer was almost killed yesterday, the killers of Alex Badeh, a former chief of defense staff are still at large. With all these, they will still play politics and move on, they won't even consider thinking things through and finding solutions. Let's just pray that the motive for this abduction is to get ransom and not to get a slave army that can be used for example as suicide bombers. 5 Likes

Toju200: You sure about this? There wasn't any attack on the school or the motive of the attack wasn't for abduction? I have seen people coming out on Twitter to claim their loved ones are among the missing students. How do we know this isn't an attempt by the government to cover up? 7 Likes |

Early this year, the cultist and cult groups that used to depend on pickpocketing, hailing for money and other petty crimes got more ambitious and started a coordinated robbery attack in many parts of the south-west, the operated for few days and even got bolder to the extent of sending notifications ahead of robbery on any street before the police eventually started harassing them and that was the end of it, it is history now, the useless police force learnt absolutely nothing from the event. They will wait for the next round of robbery attacks by these cult groups before they start chasing them again. 6 Likes |

Whyem15:If you know how vast the borders in the north are the idea of a border fence won't even be given a second thought. We simply don't have that kind of resources to do so Niger republic alone shares border with about 4 northern states. We need to invest in high tech equipments and Intels. If that large number of people can be abducted without any resistance an operation that lasted for hours, it tells us that our Intelligence game needs to reaccessed. We should be proactive rather than always be reactive and on the defensive which again boils down to Intels gathering. Time have come for us to have 24/7 aerial surveillance on selected hotspots in the northeast. This is where the drones will be very useful. 7 Likes |

There were about two or three attacks in Borno state today too. What happened to operation fireball, it doesn't have any semblance with the normal offensive we know, or are they still preparing for the operation? Gwam in Konduga LGA and Askira were attacked. 11 years into this war, the Nigerian military still haven't found a way to stop the yearly dry season bokoharam/iswap offensive. The current theater commander of operation lafiya dole is somehow the worst the operation has ever had, sadly, he replaced Gen. Adeniyi because of a leaked video. 8 Likes |

bidex111: Look at the number of soft skinned vehicles taking offensive positions. Don't you think that plays a big part in the incapacity of the NA to take a proper offensive stance against a Boko Haram militia. 3 Likes |

seankafor: I want you to consider with some rational objectivity your comments. The same villagers that are being beheaded and thier females taken captivate by Boko Haram. And you make a assumptive statement with absolutely no substance. The villagers are caught between a ROCK and HARD PLACE. The NA have proven to be very unreliable partners in protecting them if they give Intel about Boko Haram. On the other hand Boko has continously and murderously slaughtered these villagers like chickens. They literally live in HELL with no help from anybody. 10 Likes |

Toju200: Without the specifics of the comments and the context it almost impossible to say this is good thing or not. That commendation could actually be comedic condemnation. For instance, l could commend the bravery and ingenuity of our Alpha Jet pilots carrying out bombing raids without precision bombs and modern fire control systems with AESA radars. Marvelling at the very limited infrastructural support given to our pilots. And therefore a condemnation of our Government. I am talking hypothetically. 6 Likes |

SamuelAnyawu:The fact that it took the threat of losing an election for GEJ to order a large offensive shows that the Nigeria has the might but lack the will or motivation to end insurgency. Gwoza, the former capital of the bokoharam caliphate was captured in 2015. If the capital could be captured, what stops the military from capturing the other territories. Why stop the offensive in the first instance? 11 Likes |
