To be candid, legions of students are fed up concerning how

Some students have even engaging in making money or

You must be a brilliant chap. And with this mind set you are going to be successful in life.
Nothing compares with a sound education though I have a limited one. But asking an undergraduate or a graduate to have vocational skill as backup plan is not it for me

Stick with skill acquisition,If you don't have what it takes to attend tertiary institutions in acquiring correct white man's education.

Don't waste money and time going at all.

Thank You Sir!
I will add you to my list of people i can't ever dissappoint.

Education is no longer the key to success in Nigeria.

It's better nowadays, to make money and go back to school than studying hoping to make money from it

While acquiring a skill, you'd be getting educated. At the end of the day, depending on how fast things works out...you could be at the receiving end young man. Haven't you for a moment thought about the implications of fully developed AI technology??! It's far reaching effects!!

I foresee a future where man wouldn't have to work as we've known, robots and computers are taking over everything since machine learning came to fore. From design to development, AIs are perfecting the schemes. What numbers do you have that machines wouldn't finesse in split seconds??

Don't be the shortsighted one, knowledge can be very useless if it can't translate into skill. What good is a husband who knows how to kill a rat in the bedroom but can't kill one at that ungodly hour when it mattered??

I've met a professor of Mechanical Engineering from UI during my IT experience at a workshop in Ibadan who said although he knew all about the car he drove, he can't perform a simple general servicing of the said automobile.

Don't wait to see how far ahead they get!

If you ask me I'd say you got a little too philosophical in your post. We're talking about the job market and how you plan to survive if education doesn't work out and your explanation doesn't pan out.

In our economy today the fact is that there is no room for upcoming businesses to thrive or even get the profit they were expecting. If you ask me almost all business ventures in our country are over saturated and don't bring profit. The only solution is to get an education (a wide one not just ssce or a bachelor's) and I assure you that there will be no limit to the success you can achieve ( just kidding there is actually a limit because this is Nigeria).

Like Nwadykexcel the person above you said "Those looking at skill acquisition as a substitute for education are truly shortsighted."

Nigeria will not undo him, please. Let's differentiate between advice and curse. The situation of things there could be bad but a lot of people have still made using their degrees and whatever they learned in school

I want to start doing rough work once my parents get tired of sponsoring, right now I'm still working with my dad, we are doing business together. my plan is just to travel out to United State for hustling. after working there for like 10 years, then I will keep on investing in Nigeria and other countries with the money I earn.
I don't believe in school again. I am even tired of school.

One of my friends is already in his 2nd Semester,200lvl Mech.E scheme outline(that is the list of courses he'll do in 200lvl and the contents of each),while is school he is in my set(100lvl Mech.E).
And he is doing this while working at a fueling station(Making money and Getting far in his course).
He gets his study materials from the wealth of resources available on the Internet(No be only porn dem they use internet watch)

Lol... dude, you know about wizkid cause he's popular. There are many others who use their degrees/academic competencies to make wealth. What works for Mr. A might not work Mr. B. To each, his own. So free the guy to follow his dream path.

Yo bro,i'll never neglect my education.
I will still get up to a Masters in Mech.E.
And a B.sc in Economics and maybe in Applied Mathematics as well.Though i'm still in 100lvl doing Mech.E.
My main plan and back-up plan all involves me getting an education so if you like be there and be doing "vocational skill" .we'll see how far that really gets you.
Anyone can learn a vocational skill and still be very educated.
People looking towards skill auquisition as a substitute for True Education are shortsighted.

Lol, funny guy.
You're probably from a wealthy home and attend a private school. Life hasn't hit you, yet.
Or you've forgotten that this is Nigeria? cheesy
