Good morning all,

I have decided to dedicate this week to harass VFS Lagos so that I can get back my passport. Those we submitted together either have their passports or are already in Canada. In fact, some who submitted after me have also got theirs back. I will be using phone calls and emails or even twitter if necessary.

Please if you have confirmed details of any of these contact modes that have proofed successful, kindly share with me. For instance, which phone numbers or email addresses are most reliable and what specific auto-redial app for android have you used?

Thanks.

I was denied Visa this morning base on home ties and financial status. I want to order for my gcms notes, but I am not sure I will re-apply, since I am going there as fully funded.

Good morning kelvin,

Sorry about your refusal . But you apply for the note . Since it’s financial status and home ties

Maybe they were expecting at least something in your account , a job , family or other assets . Try to apply again . It will definitely turn out well. You are most there

When did u submit this application ??

Anyone travelling from Lagos with Ethiopian airlines today?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Akannitommy: 8:07am On Dec 14, 2020
Sorry to hear about that. I don't think you should give up that quickly. I suggest you take some time off to de-stress and then relaunch your quest. As a fully funded student applicant, home ties may be more critical in your case than the finance aspect. In fact, both can be covered with the same additional inclusions in your application. Being fully funded does not mean you won't show some evidence of funding or local investments plus provisions for family (if you have one). I suggest you come back to explain your timelines and all the documents submitted. You will get needed help here and able to reapply.

The general requirement is 4 months, but Nigeria and some other African country need to provide 6 months statement.

Hassan19:
Hi everyone, hope you’re enjoying your Sunday? The requirement for bank statement on Canada Immigration website is past 4 month bank statement while some people here claim 6 months. Please which one should I use? 4 or 6 months?

And lastly, what’s the exchange rate of $CAD10000 to naira so I can know how much to leave in my bank account after paying my tuition fee.

Looking forward to see a response from anyone.

Thank you.

Foski01:
Good morning guys.

Gurus please I need your help.

I intend reapplying next week.

Attached is the gcms note from my first application.

I have now changed the course to a PGC and have gotten my inlaw to move the money to my account, my inlaw has written a letter stating that he has moved the money into my account and will also be attaching scanned duplicate of the deposit slips.

Do I still need to ask my inlaw to submit an updated letter of introduction from his company? And/or updated affidavit of support or sponsorship again?

I have rewritten my SOP to capture why I changed the course from diploma to PGC.

Thanks for your detailed anticipated response.

Hello Foski01,

Good to have change your program to something much progressive. The note is well simplified and addressing the VO's concerns as stated therein may help you application.

Since the VO raised concerns about the availability of the funds to you, why not make some part payment of your tuition fees from your sponsor's account and have the rest funds cool off in your BA.

You should ensure this time that you sponsor have a good closing balance after making these commitments. There is no need getting a new affidavit of sponsorship or LOI if the details contained therein are valid and updated.

Don't just focus only on trying to prove that your sponsor is financially stable. If you're a matured applicant, demonstrate your employment situation and level of establishment in your home country. There should be evidence and good convincing. If this can be settled, you will have less concern in regards to your HT.

If your sponsor is your in-law, why not briefly tell the VO why the sponsorship intent is important to him. You may also want to demonstrate that your parents are well-established and any close family member of utmost concern to your application.

Don't leave out your future plans and the importance of the prospect course to its fulfillment. Be realistic about it and ensure to use your environment to measure the plans and if possible, briefly discuss the blueprint(s) of its attainment.

The most important thing, avoid too many story telling in your letter, be direct and make it terse.

Hello, I don't know if you have a response yet...Look at Fanshawe College, Seneca College, George Brown College and if you have the money you can go for Ryerson University. Fanshawe and Seneca have their fees around 2.3 million per semester ...6 semesters in total

Am telling you just took the words from my mouth it's their duty to verify the results calm your nerves down my dear and submit the requirements all I did was to attach an LOE too that I had ticked no thinking it's academic that's being asked and submitted the explanation and the general training test I did last year we just worry for nothing you don't even know whether they won't even send whether you ticked no or yes please upload something and attach the LOE God will help us these VOs look at things differently the way we look at it just back it up with prayers and grace of God.There was someone here that uploaded his results like
that with 5.5 in reading and said he backed it up with grace of God with boldness with God nothing is impossible he does things in a mysterious ways that's why he is God.
Now let me say this when I submitted my application initially I didn't include my SPONSOR'S statement and explanation I wanted to do I was a bit worried so I decided I would raise a webform and include it the day the statement was ready and was about raising the webform. That was the day I got the NSE requirements I just said thank God this is an opportunity to include it as my proof of Financial Support but before then I was getting myself worked up so God works in different ways we can't even imagine. So relax and send what you need to send.

Hello Awys,

I look forward to your happiness of victory. You should try to stay engaged in something that can distract your mind off the whole visa processing hubbub.

I find it disturbing whenever they deny fully funded applicants. Please don't be discouraged. What did you use as home ties? What program did you apply for? Give us your complete profile. Let us help you debug the situation as you await your GCMS notes.

Good day my Honourables in the house,
I want to thank all that have taken time to address issues that concerns our study in Canada dream.

Please I want to ask, I understand that 2 years Post graduate program gives one enough time to process PR. The course I am going for is 1year and I will like to process PR also.

Is it possible for me to enrol to another 1year program immediately I finish the first, and can I use the combination of the 2 program which will now be 2years to process my PR.

Thanks as your inputs are highly needed.

Hello Gentlejin,

You can do another 1yr program subsequently and still be eligible for 3yrs PGWP.

Humber College, Public relations. Previous education was Bachelors-Mass Communication. I'm self sponsored. Got an introduction letter from my office stating study leave approval and resumption date. cheesy Had a 10-year study gap but I have been working right from leaving school so was able to justify that with all employment appointment letters. I believe I also had a very detailed letter of explanation too. For everything I stated in the LOE, I had documents as proof including picture evidence where necessary.
At the end, no application is perfect. Pray for grace! It will end in praise for you and everyone still expecting an approval.

Hello JayLaw2,

From the brief explanation regarding your application, it must be well-arranged. Given the 10yrs study gap prior after studying MC, hope you were able to point out to the VO why or how the PR course is well-related to your current work experience despite its correlation to your previous study 10yrs ago?!

Wishing you a successful outcome.

Good evening ooo, pls I’ve got my stamped passport but still haven’t received my LOI for over 3weeks now and I intend to travel in a few weeks. All web form raised and emails sent to no avail.

Is it possible to go to the Embassy on VI with my stamped passport to try get someone to attend to my case?

Hello Ikechuqu,

From past experience and recent findings, you can travel without the LOI if your visa was approved and have your stamped passport.

You can send emails to Lagos and Nairobi to the effect.

N.B: How to act on this information is your sole decision.

I got the NSE in November and my study permit was reviewed between Friday and today, even without me responding to it. Though I later uploaded my IELTS result.

I don't think the NSE has anything to do with me being refused a study permit. I have a very unique story, and it is quite reasonable for Vo to think that I won't return home. I am the only child of my mum who bears different last name as me, and my dad is late since I was in jss1, unfortunately I didn't inherit anything from him, since his wonderful sisters had their way. Also, I couldn't get study leave from my work place, since I work for a private firm. I added my mum's land and an affidavit from her. I also added my half sister's birth certificate, this was technically the major home ties I had.

Good evening, colleagues. I have been granted my study visa. However, I am planning to go Canada during spring 2021 since lectures will still be online next winter. I therefore intend to apply for my son (5 years) whiles am here. Is this a good idea or I should wait and apply for him when I arrive in Canada. If is a good idea, what documents do I need?

Hello Adwoa816,

It may be better to apply for him from within Canada but if this happenings to be my reality, I would apply now for him given the flexibility in recent trend of visa approvals. For obvious reasons if its refused, you can then set your mind to apply for him from within Canada.

The LOE can contain a compelling reasons about his feelings of you leaving him behind, which in your assessment can affect his mental performance and socialization... Reasons should be emotional as it concerns a minor. Ensure to have completely finalized your application before commencing any other.

You have to apply for him with same documents you applied with but only that which is most applicable to his personal situation/circumstances. You may also want to get an authorized letter from his school to go on an unscheduled break and valid receipts of tuition payments for the session (if applicable). Been a minor, thing can serve as proof that he will return with you back to base or country of residence.

BTW, when did you apply and approved?
