Today the South African Navy is one of the most capable naval forces in the African region, operating a mixed force of sophisticated warships, submarines, patrol craft, and auxiliary vessels, with over 7,000 personnel; including a marine force. come see real machines, forget these zoo-canoes you're posting ![]() ![]() ![]() 1 Like |

Ikengawo: If they ask you to build a common canoe, would you have a clue how to go about it? Leave South Africa out of it, as earlier explained on this thread, something you are either too thick or too lazy to read. Quite why you're posting US aircraft carriers, only you and your demented, dumb self can determine. |

naijaking1: Liar. Here's evidence that you're a liar: ''The Nigerian Navy has in its possession two of the Type 056 warships (NNS Centenary and NNS Unity). The first Type 056 corvette appeared in mid-2012 and the series is still in active construction, implying more units will be added to the inventory in due time. The design serves the North Sea Fleet, the East Sea Fleet and the South Sea Fleet. Various builders have been involved in the project including the shipyards of Hudong, Huangpu and Wuhan. First ships appeared in early 2013 and the modified Type 056A series (CNS Huangsh 502, CNS Sanmenxia 593 and CNS Zhuzhou 594) began service in 2014.'' Rossntti:Sir don't say what you don't know... Some countries like Germany, Spain have frigates that re almost similar to destroyers, in size, fire power and speed. You don't expect those countries to bother getting destroyers when they have frigates that can do the job and they have them in abundance. OK even the frigates how many does Nigeria have? What's their operational status, what's their tactical capacity? ... Some of the 1 Like |

addictiv: Liar. NNS Aradu is undergoing renovation. The other ships are ALL operational, plus many others which haven't been posted, since the Nigeria Navy has a fleet of 75 operational ships, making it the 33rd largest naval fleet on earth: https://www.globalfirepower.com/navy-ships.asp and I say for a country like Nigeria who claims to be the giant of Africa located strategically with extensive water ways, its a disgrace. If this is Nigerias line of defence then we re practically done for should war breakout any day....dont come here and try to paint things white when they re not. Its this type of mentality that has put us in the deep mess we re in today.. If Nigeria is doomed at 42nd position, what would you say about the other countries like Portugal, Denmark, and Argentina that are ranked below Nigeria? And if you're going to say ''ditch what the research says'', I'll ditch what YOU say, because they know 1000 times more than YOU. https://www.globalfirepower.com/countries-listing.asp 1 Like |

Rossntti: Typical ......... i am sure you didn't even read the where the site says that in cases where information was not available they used estimates, which they clearly did for Nigeria as apart from patrol boats, the naval section has almost everything ranked 0 and total assets 75. you came here to spill trash and shouting research upandan...list the 75 ships Nigeria has let us see what kind of ships they are ...yeye de smell 1 Like

addictiv: They listed 0 because Nigeria does not have aircraft carriers, submarines, destroyers etc.. which were the naval categories. It's the same for nations like Denmark, listed mostly 0 in the naval categories, as they lack submarines, destroyers and aircraft carriers: https://www.globalfirepower.com/country-military-strength-detail.asp?country_id=denmark In other military categories like airforce and army, Nigeria's assets are listed. Nigeria is ranked above a nation like Denmark militarily because, while Denmark may have 9 frigates to Nigeria's 1 or 2, her army only has 57 tanks and 972 armoured vehicles. The Nigerian army has 253 tanks and 1,789 armoured vehicles. In a land fight the Nigerian army would quickly overrun Denmark. The Nigerian army would also defeat Portuguese forces in a land fight. Portugal has just 133 tanks and 975 armoured vehicles. 1 Like |

Rossntti: South African accs. All of this 'in black africa' trash nigerians like to say is a joke. Like Anyone is impressed your navy is bigger than Togos. Nigeria that's bigger than Japan is so content being better than Somalia. Worst, we even underperform in that arena. Stop promoting mediocrity. |

I never knew an African Navy has submarine till I dated a South African Lady who is Naval officer with their Submarine Unit. Hmmm. Honestly I had to carry out a research online to confirm they truly Own Submarine, not even one but 5. Their Navy has really gone far in terms development and Weapon Upgrade unlike what is obtain in most African Countries, and when u compare their welfare package is like 7Up advert" THE DIFFERENCE IS CLEAR" |

Ikengawo: Why use the smallest African nation as your example, if not for your inbred animosity? What about powers like Kenya? Sudan? Ethiopia? Tunisia? Ghana? Wouldn't sound so bad then eh? Best use Togo. Careful you don't choke on your hate. Nigeria that's bigger than Japan is so content being better than Somalia. Aah... this time Somalia. Worse than Togo.... But who said we were 'content'? Highlighting your current position militarily doesn't mean you're 'content'. It's just showing the reality. If we were content, the Nigerian navy would not be implementing new prototypes from its ship-building department. Nor would the Nigerian navy be procuring more modern vessels as we speak. Ikengawo: Illiterate tout, go and argue with multimillion dollar research. People with common sense who hold an opinion that gets contradicted by world class studies and research, do the sensible thing, and revise their view to avoid embarrassment. Not our resident low IQ, self-loathing village pea brain arguing against the wind. Oh, by the way, you buffoon, the Nigeria army brief is not to "overrun Borno", since fighting terrorists is a very different kettle of fish from conventional warfare, and the prime concern with the former is to avoid mass civilian casualties that would arise from employing a conventional warfare approach to fighting terrorism. Imagine having to explain the most simple, basic concepts to supposedly educated people. Useless. 1 Like |
