It's really not nice both ways because I know the number of times I've re arranged my movements to be available for a "pickup" that didn't happen. I know it will also be disappointing for a buyer who plans to pickup and is then told "sold out".

we should all just do better.

Sometimes the "supposed' buyer would ask for the origin of the product and even go as far as asking for receipt and all manner of infuriating demands which will be met and will ask fora ridiculous reduction which I might even agree to and will still be no show.

The last guy that posted home theater for 40k here annoyed me to my bone. I had sent my brother to Fouani to buy a home theater at Allen when I saw the post. I ordered my brother back and when he's stuck at traffic I sent money to another just so they can meet up with the seller on time. When one was almost at Ogba (the seller location) then I asked him to be available only for him to tell me he's sold the home theater system.

The anger has made me to even refuse to buy the home theater again

while I understand your sentiments, there are more people without these same ethics.
As a buyer I never disappoint a seller once we've reached an agreement but as a seller I've repeatedly been disappointed by nairalanders after price has been agreed to and time for pickup arranged.
So the best method to avoid disappointments is to sell to whoever comes first. I haven't been able to get myself to do this and so I keep getting disappointed.

So while I understand your annoyance, I also understand why the seller will act that way
