Cesc was given many opportunities to play AM in order to remove his defensive liability from the pivot position but he failed as an AM, end of story

OK, Cesc produced 19 assists mostly in the first half of 14/15 season and became a liability thereafter. The next season what did he produce as we battled relegation. The season after that, he was benched as we won the league, and the following season he dropped only 4 assists as we failed to make UCL. The next season he was benched and shipped to Monaco where he was fighting relegation and mid-table as a starter, and now back on bench where he belongs. That is the story of Cesc, so stop foolishly harking back to 6 years ago to make an obtuse comparison between an AM and a DM.

Also this stat you picked is very off the mark. Being dribbled past is not the main stat that defines an escort.
