Specialist in the house, please help, my Nissan primera fuel gauge just got faulty, even with over 30litres of fuel, it doesn't rise above the empty guage, I took it to a rewire but was told, I will need to change fuel pump, guage and speedometer, I was furious, what concern speedometer and fuel pump with guage, please anyone with experience please put me thru,

he meant cluster....not speedo per se

and he might be right,sadly

If you have a scanner, there is a test that activates the fuel gauge, I forgot the name sha, it moves the gauge from empty to full and back again. Usually solves the problem.....in most cases or you can clean the ecu connections.....

P.S....never tried it on Nissan, but am pretty sure it works on Peugeot and Toyata

I really can't recall, but a good scanner has that option. if the scanner is yours just check around a bit, it's pretty easy to pinpoint as it has to do with the dashboard.

Fuel sender unit could be the culprit. Ask him about 'sim card'. It is a sensor that comes with a code. Change and see what happens.
It is attached to where the fuel gauge is.
