here's what you're going to do,pull the hinges from the frame but you will have to be very careful not to damage the frame itself, then remove the hinges from the door and reposition the door as you would want it to open, depending on the health of the hinges after enduring all the stress, you can either use it again or buy a new one and install. Thirty minutes is enough time to do all these and still clean up the door by a professional
Alright, I will try this out. Thanks alot

In my bid to finding out the cause of the sudden spike in price of cement. As usual i parley with a major distributors salegirl who told me that the rebate enjoyed by the major distributors from the manufacturer's have been withdrawn.these rebates comes in products (cement) not Cash which is subject to meeting their targets.

The consumers are now to bear the brunt of the whole matter

Are these designs directly from your showroom or completed jobs, or taken from the internet.
They are indeed very good. Great ideas.

Guys, please help my client select the best look to his new house,

1st picture: The 3d rendition from the original architect (we didn't like the look)

2nd picture: A picture my client picked and loves for me to use it to replace the first picture.

3rd picture: The new design I worked out with my architect (Phildecasa) so we can use it to replace 1 and 2.

The question now is which of the views should we use, which do you think looks better for this house we are just starting to build?

Thanks for your comments.

I have exactly the second facade (sent by your client) in my ideas and inspiration folder.

It’s very clean and classy with modern elements though not a contemporary design.

The architect may try to introduce unicoloured stones and large windows (probably frameless) for serious taste that never lose beauty.

I think the attention of the client is on the elements (glass, stones etc).

Well done sir!
__________
Pics 2 & 3 - The architect can draw inspiration from these 2 images to introduce a high stone wall and other elements to the facade.

__________
From the image shared by your client sir, I think a great accent wall and clean details (more whites, glass and fewer grays) will do the magic. A busy design might not work.

I'll take the 3rd but without the red.
The 1st is too plain and dull.
The 2nd will not match the rooms arrangement and overall facade. But will look good with a raised roof

I prefer picture 3 because of the ample upstairs sit-out areas at the front and the tall windows. I can imagine natural light flooding in.

However, for me there are two significant points of note:

I'm not a fan of flat roof for personal edifices. A red cap chief doesn't sit on the high table with a flat cap on. But that's me though.

Now that ample sit-out. The sit-out should be in keeping with the surrounding area. The sit-out should offer a nice view to the meadow or green vegetation. So if the nearby building is a bungalow then the sit-out would be meaningful with a view to die for. But if the nearby building is also a duplex or storey building, it is no good having such ample sit-out with a view to other people's bedroom.

Yes you just reline the frame its a very easy job if its a wooden frame, ask a good carpenter they will know what to do moreover I think you should place Pic here to make it quicker in terms of response!

DO not 4get ur frame has a lip if the door open I nwards means the lip on the frame is on the outside, so the inside needs to have a lip to achive this you need a one inch inside to fill it to create a lip on the inside.

Very interesting analysis. We don't intend to take business away from POP and plasterboard specialists, as most feed their family through this means. I guess we just need to get tough, when the tough gets going.
Could you please throw some light on this form of cieling?
I'd appreciate.

Here’s my response when I got asked this same question some years ago (2013) when I shared image of the wood beam ceiling (pic 1) done on one of our project in Sangotedo, Lagos.

1. What kind of wood is this? - CEDAR (Red)

2. What kind of treatment/finishing? - WOOD FINISH. IT WILL BE SPRAYED

Coffered Ceiling, Vaulted Ceiling, Exposed Beam/Joist Ceiling and the likes are a great way to add character to your home but a very expensive project which is always a job best left to the pros.

Because they’re large and strikingly imposing, exposed ceiling beams tend to work the best in rooms/spaces with high headroom or vaulted ceilings.

________
Pic 2 - 3 | I tried faking a beam it by using POP to create a dropped beam in pic 3 below.

You can also fake exposed beam/wood ceiling with faux wood or reclaimed woods. I’ll suggest you talk to wood professionals.

________
Pic 4 (shared by you) looks more like a faux wood or engineered wood than a real beam (natural wood). These are stuffs I’d ship down to Nigeria if I’m in your shoe.
Reason: it’s dirt cheap out there to get faux wood (imitation) but crazily expensive to get natural woods here. That’s if you even get a good finish.
