idealogical: You lie!! They're more industrial areas in Portharcourt and Aba than the whole North, including your highly exalted Kano... Why aren't the private sector undertaking the project if they are sure of the industrial base in North. AKK is just another failed project waiting to happen 3 Likes |

We are clearly not seeing the bigger picture here . Just watch ,very soon the 600+ students that were kidnapped in Kankara will be released , you know why ? RANSOM MONEY DON COME . These Northern politicians keep playing their script over and over again , create a ransom demanding problem ,take loan from China , settle kidnappers ,bandits or Boko haram in dollars , release hostages , capture the assailants , send them abroad and give them scholarship 2 Likes |

obailala: You will make a better engineer than an economist. How many times have LNG transported by rail involved in accidents? This project is just another egocentric mission laced with emotions and no financial objectivity. |

Borrowed money for Pipeline upon the insecurity level. If care isn't taken the money they'll spend to secure the so called pipeline will be greater than amount they borrowed 1 Like |

osusuallstars: from Niger-delta.. i think the Northern people are very very strategic in their planning... i respect them for that. with this map..its purely North and South-South/Niger-delta runs... which I think makes sense.. u make the militants and the Niger-delta people happy, they give you gas as energy, passage from the Ocean for Ships via the deltan channels through river niger to Kaduna port.. its a win-win for both the North & the Niger-delta people. but for the SW & SE.. i cant say. |

persius555: It's Ok for other people see sense, progress, development and economic opportunities in this project and it's also ok for other people to see the opposite. It is imperative and economically sound to make sure that every region in Nigeria is gas connected. Your objections are not factual, just your opinion. Arguing back and forth is a waste of time. 1 Like |

kayjay69:To answer your question, YES! this is my field, and I have a fair understanding of the economic and political importance of this pipeline for Nigeria. The long term plan for this project is to develop the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline. This project has been in planning and paper stage since the 90's. The day Nigeria connects a gas pipeline to Algeria, that will be the day Nigerian gas gets to Europe. I do not need to explain to you the economic and political impact of Nigeria being a major gas supplier to Europe. If there's anyone who should be worried about this project, it should be Russia, as it could weaken their political/economic edge over western Europe. But instead, what do we have on this thread? 99% of those opposed to the project on this thread are simply analysing from the myopic/ignorant point of view of tribalism; people just seem to get a hard-on whenever they hear the word 'North'... The other day I came across a video of some ignorant IPOB fellow analysing this project on Facebook and asserting with so much confidence how Buhari wants to dash Niger Deltan gas to his "Muslim brothers in Algeria". |

persius555:Like I said in my previous post, even of we ignore the safety aspects, it is economically useless to transport gas via rail instead of building a pipeline. |
