TheLionofLasigi: God will bless you and continue to increase your wisdom. Makinde is simply playing to the gallery as all these new generation of Governors love doing. Honest men know grassroots mobilization win elections in Nigeria. Minus Tinubu, and OBJ now part of our past, just show me another Southerner that Northern big boys can ever spend a Kobo on let alone pledge major money and political machinery for. Can the paperweight Fayemi, who could not retain Ekiti against Fayose under GEJ, command the respecct and servitude of Buratai and others like him to use for the glory of Nigeria? Did we not see Dambazau, one if the finest and most outstanding Army official Nigeria has produced, not openly defy and undermine GEJ? Can Fayemi Moghalu, Peter Obi or Adeshina control those type who only defer to "gladiators" they respect and are willing to take instructions from? Can/should the south risk their slot on the weakling Fayemi who could not retain Ekiti on his own strength or Obi who went to beg and dobale for OBJ yet still got impeached nonchalantly by vengeful Baba who wanted his "son" Andy Ubah as Governor of Anambra? Contrast with Tinubu who never lost Lagos till today and defied the very vindictive and wicked OBJ who coveted Lagos, more than anything else in the world, and was determined to make the State a PDP one? Given how Nigeria works, no other Southerner, in the eyes of the North and some "owners of Nigeria", is as Presidential asTinubu. That is the reason for the hysteria surrounding a Tinubu Presidency from all corners of Nigeria while we hear nothing of Fayemi, Peter Obi, Kalu etal or other yeye lightweights. Tinubu is who they fear and are trying to frustrate. Intelligent people will ask why this is so. The answer is obvious. Tinubu will be the only Southern candidate who can use that seat of power positively without major encumbrance. They therefore don't want him to get to Aso Rock. Enemies of Nigeria will actually welcome Fayemi, Obi etal because this simply means they control ruling and ruining by proxy as was the case under weak GEJ. Too many kids in Nigeria who don't do reality. They are the ones who always gets us in trouble. 4 Likes |

You no serious I swear. Well that is one way to look at it. However, anyone who lives in Lagos as I do, clearly knows this is not the case. We do not want the emperor whom we have had in the last 21 years rule Nigeria. Nigeria needs restructuring. I do not say it as part of the bandwagon, I have always said it here and on other platforms. This is the only real first step towards solving our problems. Anything short of this, is a sham. leokid866: |

Gabriel004: Suwegbe cannot even make an intelligent point as a counter argument . Lazy youth. It speaks volume you have no one to back to be President and only have a candidate to oppose. This shows how most Nigerian youths are. Uninformed, ignorant, very lazy mentally and physically and always working with second hand information fed them by paid hirelings of Atiku and other retrogressive "owners of Nigeria". 2 Likes |

Olaideolayemi: Thank you ojare. Makinde and co cannot open mouth to fight the current Fulani cabal who are totally opposed to restructuring and favour a centrist system that continues to frustrate and regress the rest of us. Yet they can open mouth against the ambition of a man who's leadership of Lagos shows he is the personification of economic autonomy and devolution of power personified. The same modus operandi useless traitors and turncoat Yorubas predecessors of Makinde, like OBJ and co, used to frustrate Awolowo to the detriment of us all today. What has Makinde, Fayemi and co achieved as Chief executive officers of Nigerian States? They are still brandishing begging bowl up and down cluelessly till today in favorable and more democratic times. While Tinubu, because he has bigger balls and a bigger brain than all of them put together, fought FG-might, vindictive OBJ and the lack of support of being only opposition Governor in the SW to grow Lagos economically and place her at an envious height as 6th biggest economy in Africa. Americans, Britons and co who, unlike Nigerians, always shun emotions to respect and worship competence shade us blind and myopic Nigerians over what they see Tinubu to be. 13 years out of office and their emissaries in Nigeria visit and sit with Tinubu while they cannot even hide their disdain for our current leaders with how they don't even mention them let alone ever crave an audience with them. All informed Nigerians know why they are afraid of. Tinubu Presidency same as they were determined Awolowo would never be President. 1 Like |

candidtalk:please enough of these supporters of greedy and corrupt leaders that do not love Nigeria .. we are tired of always supporting and allowing stupid and self centered leaders to lead us .. what is it self? are we cursed or just plain stupid ? We are still biting our fingers over this mistake of a president that this ur Demi God Tinubu parkage for Nigerian and you are telling us that he is the right person to rule us . . A man that has continued to look the other way when his people were being raped and massacred over thier farmland by fulani headers Just becos he does not want to offend the north becos of his ambition . A man that does not care about this country and the people but only look out for his cronies who can help expand his political powers . He is not a good leader, nor is one with intergrity . He was at the fore front of agitating for a restructured Nigeria but emmediately his party came into power he change his mind .. is that the kind of leader you are talking about ? You are the obscene that were shouting say baba up and down but now you want us to look and consider another corrupt and self centered old politician that is suppose to have retired . He is not the good and caring leader that will speak up against tyrany .he would rather keep mute and continue to praise this terrible govt . We don't need a coward and a corrupt man that only cares about himself and his cronies only. while he leave the rest of Nigeria in poverty .. If from the 200 million Nigerians, we still cannot look within our various ethnic group to bring out a fine mind that can rule us, then we deserve a Buhari and his kind . 2 Likes |

omoharry: You miss the point which is that Nigerians should look factually and pragmatically at the actual political career of those who want to be President and what they have delivered/achieved as opposed to the myth, toxicity or undue praises/criticism attached to their personality. I am only in this thread because of Makinde's silly dig at Tinubu while he deciefully mouths the 'restructuring' everyone pays lip service to today yet put in no help deliver. At least we saw Tinubu's effort to make Lagos politically and socio-economically independent of the federal government. Look at Makinde's governorship so far and compare to that of Tinubu he dares to shade because he believes Nigerians are ignorant simpletons he can deceive. Who is likely to be more keen and sincere towards restructuring of Nigeria between Tinubu and Makinde? You don't see what is obvious so there is therefore no point responding to all you say. 2 Likes |

Josh2fun: Thank you. Shebi charity begins at home. As a Yoruba I am so ashamed at how Makinde, Fayemi, Fayose etal have never sought to make their states more economically and financially independent as Tinubu achieved with Lagos. Yet they will open mouth to criticize Tinubu when records show he is a massive success while Makinde and other SW Governors are big failures in comparison to Jagaban. They run States far less populated and with far less challenges than Lagos yet non of them have returned outstanding result to date. I just see the same envy and inferiority complex that moved OBJ etal to sabotage Awolowo playing out over again. 1 Like |

candidtalk: Makinde statement is just rubbish because a Yoruba presidency does not even stop restructuring and I can argue that someone like Tinubu will be a better fit for that restructuring agenda if elected. Restructuring itself to me should be a gradual structural change if you want to get anything done. You don’t just deploy it as a waterfall approach, it has to be some kind of agile system where you roll out the package bit by bit. The SW established Amotekun which is some sort of community form of policing. As a president you can use your contacts in the National Assembly to allocate some funding and create law for state government and make it a statewide thing. That’s restructuring. There are some state with some certain mineral resources that have been clamoring that they want to have the right to explore and own their resources. Set up some form of sharing formulas and give them the autonomy to do that. That is some form of restructuring. The reason we are not getting anything done about restructuring is because these guys want to roll it out once and they haven’t been able to find any common ground since. North has gold and etc, create a policy that will favor state exploration and give that impression that they are benefiting, then you would have been able to achieve one of these things. Then the Southern states can benefit from the same thing. Then try to alternate it by finding something the North think they have a comparative advantage on, do that and vice versa for the south. There are some states that have the ability to have their own power generation system, you can try to give them some green light by using your contacts in the NA to make relevant laws. That itself is some sort of restructuring. It’s better to move at a snail speed than being stagnant. It’s better we are rolling them out bit by bit, instead of waiting for a full restructuring that have now been audio since God knows when. 1 Like |

Re: Seyi Makinde: Nigeria Needs Security, Restructuring, Not Yoruba Presidency by Nobody: 4:44pm On Dec 16, 2020 |
All this talk is noise. The power is already with state governments to perform and many of them are scamming their constituents and taking the money as personal wealth. Any more power to the states and the people will truly become the slaves of state governors. What we have here now is a lack of accountability and the systems for checks and balances exist already through the state house of assembly that do nothing to protect their people. The people too are daft allowing these people to walk freely amongst them without recompense. |
