Smart investors are cashing out, some bonds bought at N100 are now selling for N150. Very possible the fund managers sold some and invested in fixed deposit.

The balanced fund is also not doing badly, they invest in equities, money market and fixed income

Okay I see what you are saying. They are making cool cash by selling the older bonds in their portfolio.

It could also be a function of valuation. The earlier issued bonds market price has shot up and is reflecting as high returns.

Most of these bonds are currently selling at a premium of 50% or there about, Dr Ukay correct me if I am wrong you are the in-house bond Investment expert

Very true Sir

Couldn't imagine FGN Bonds will sell at such high premium.

Some investors that bought at discount prices are even tempted to make a kill by selling their bonds that were bought at discount prices.

Hi gurus in the house, please, hear my story and advise me on next step to take.I have posted this on crime section but didn't receive any response.

I completed an application for CBN's FORM A through my bank( one of the commercial banks) to pay tuition fee in Canada last week. On Monday 14th December, 2021 I received a debit alert with more than N128,000 over what my account was supposed to be debited. I quickly checked on CBN's site for exchange rate for that day and discovered that it was N296.7 to 1CAD$.

I immediately called the customers service center to find out the reason for the excess deduction .The agent asked me how much I requested for the tuition, I told him and he did some calculations and told me that the exchange rate was N311 to 1CAD$. I countered him by telling him the rate I saw on CBN's site, he responded that there are charges attached. I made him understand that I made similar transaction in October with the same bank and branch and to same school in Canada and nothing was charged (even if there is,it should be very negligible ,not N128,000. I even transferred a higher amount in October)from my account. He was a bit confused and told me he would send me the receipt of the transaction which he never did till today.

After waiting for some hours, I emailed the customers service center with details. They responded few hours later on the same Monday and asked the branch I completed the FORM A. I replied immediately with the branch. Since then, I didn't hear from them again. This is unlike my bank that would respond and resolve issues within 48hrs whenever I email them.

Today, 16th December 2021 I sent I reminder to the customers service center via email that I am yet to get feedback from them or see a reversal of the excess amount in my account. I made them understand that I would escalate the complaint to CBN if I didn't receive a resolution within the time frame given by CBN.

Please, I need suggestions on how to resolve this issue or how to take it up ...on twitter or CBN or consumer protection council.

As alert starts coming in from your Sukuk,
remember to reinvest some percentage of your coupon into stocks or VGIF or both depending on your risk tolerance in that way you are compounding your gains.
By the 7th year you will be amazed what your gain has gained.

This is unlike your bank, why didn't you carry out the transaction through your bank

Please mention the name of the branch and bank, you better escalated the issue

Hope you see the difference between Genuine and Ponzi, alerts go directly to bank accounts for genuine while ponzi alerts are sent to a platform where investors are told to initiate withdrawal, howfar with your N 3 million have you been able to withdraw it from the platform.

I was going to give you N50k if you could prove withdrawal of all the sum within 48 hours but it's more like 48 days now still pending withdrawal.

Oga Emma, Please why are your returns not as high as some other fixed income funds that are yielding over 20%?

I guess your calculation is Principal × Interest/ 100 which will give you 100% of what you invested now but it's the wrong formula
